Hi everyone,

Just doing some planning for our upcoming trip in November & looking at food possibilities. On this holiday will be myself (28) & OH (28). DH loves meat, chicken etc for meals. I can be quite un-adventurous food wise. We are not on the DDP so will be paying OOP for all our meals. Generally we eat CS with one Chef Mickey dinner & one Crystal Palace breakfast throughout our trip.

This year I would like to try some different places & wondered what Ohanas is like? What is the set up? Do you order from menu or is it a buffet line? Also, does anyone know what it costs? We are going Nov 28th--Dec 8th, if that makes any difference.

Any help or photos would be really appreciated!

Do you order from menu or is it a buffet line?

Neither. It is a fixed menu, the appetizers and sides are brought to the table and served family style, and the meats are served from skewers (think Brazilian steakhouse).

Thanks for the replies!

Is family style where they bring the bowls to your table for you to share?

Brazilian Steakhouse? I'm from Scotland, we don't really have steakhouses here! I've seen a few picture where there is meat on skewers. Do they come round your tables with the skewers & ask what meat you would like? Do they come round once or can you ask for more?

Sorry so many questions!

Oh LaaLaa ... My FAVORITE restaurant is Ohana and it is a FANTASTIC place for dinner! Look through my old posts and I will ALWAYS talk up Ohana! :thumbsup2

Ohana for dinner is FANTASTIC! The food is very tasty and there is as much as you can eat! The food line-up that is brought to you has sooo many good things! A nice salad with a fruity dressing, yummy appetizers like lo-mein noodles, pot stickers, buffalo type wings, and a mix of steamed veggies containing mostly broccoli and snap peas which are all brough to your table in I'd say medium sized bowls for you to take from. THEN you move into the main courses ... Pork, Steak, Jumbo Shrimp, and Turkey all cooked over a wood fire grill and brought to your table on giant skewers ... YUM! :goodvibes

And like I said, it's all you can eat ... no matter what it is! So if you REALLY liked the salad or wings you could stuff yourself with just the salad or wings if that is what you wanted to do! Then the dessert is a large bowl of bread pudding w/ vanilla ice cream and a banana foster sauce ... I know what you're thinking ... Bread pudding? It is really good plus it comes with your meal so if you don't like it you really didn't pay extra for it! The servers are pretty attentive but there are times, just like in any other restaurant, where it gets super busy and they might be a little off. At ANY TIME if you want more of ANYTHING just ask and they will bring it to you! popcorn::

TIP: If you can ... try to get a slightly later time and when you check-in request a table close to a window! When the fireworks at the Kingdom start they dim the lights and pipe the music from M.K. in and you can watch the fireworks from your table as you eat! AWESOME! :wizard:

As far as price goes ... ehh, it isn't cheap but then again what at Disney is! ;-) My family and I were just there in April and we paid $140 for a family of four adults ... NOT including tip. We were there around Easter so we may have gotten banged with a "Holiday Price" so even if we were and you aren't still figure somewhere very close to that price.

Hope it helps! If you have ANY other questions or I missed something PLEASE let me know!!!

I adore Ohana! The pot stickers are FABULOUS, and my dad loves the bread pudding. He says he is going to order it before the meat and everything the next time we go... haha! :rotfl:

I think Frank put it perfectly! We LOVE Ohana and it's my favorite place to eat in the World. We always make a late reservation just to catch the fireworks show. My favorite thing is the shrimp, I just ask them to keep it coming. Just thinking about it makes me want to catch a flight directly to the Polynesian!:thumbsup2

Another vote for 'Ohana! :thumbsup2

I love this place because my family enjoys themselves so much here. My last visit was in January with a table of 18 and we had a ball! The kids were entertained by the games, the adults were entertained by the lapu lapus (see my picture) and we all ate ourselves silly. We watched the fireworks during dessert and our 'cousins' (servers) took great care of us and had fun with our group.

Happy, happy times.

We ate there Thursday and I've done a 180 on this place. I used to despise it but the last couple of times have been really good. It's overpriced but so is everything else there so it fits in the mold. The meat selections are limited to beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp (not meat but whatever). The shrimp are tough to peel but tasty. The steak, for once, was perfectly cooked and the pork and chicken are good, too.

The bread pudding is pretty special. I'll just leave it at that. We decided it would be on a regular rotation if we were to take regular trips.
