I will be in WDW Dec 2 - Dec 5. I should have 4 full days at the parks. We just went a few weeks ago so this upcoming trip is more to hit the highlights and favorites and see the Christmas stuff :)

Tell me as much as you can about the Christmas stuff! How much is it to get into MVMCP? What is it like?

:) I saw some pics on www.wdwig.com but I would love to hear about other people's holiday trips!

Thanks!
Sheri

It was truely magical. I think it cost me for my family of 4--2adults and 2 children about 120. To me it was worth every penny. WE loved seeing all the shows--we only rode 2 rides, but we weren't there for the rides. The best thing of all was watching WIshes and then securing a place for the parade---there was snow on Main Street during the parade. I am taking my family--all 19 of us in December and this is a must for us to do.

Had a great time last year at the MVMCP. Great parade and shows. The snow on Main Street can't be beat. Plan to do it every year.

One tip - we learned accidentally that you can get in the park as early as 4pm. Between 6 and 7 we walked leisurely through the Park and caught PhilarMagic twice

One MVMCP each year since 1992 we love and it has become a Christmas Tradition for us.Most years we go twice the snow on Main Street,Christmas Parade,MVMCP free button, free family photo, free cookies and hot chocolate, and the MK all decked out with Christmas decorations, special fireworks and great live Christmas shows pegs our fun meter way over the top. It's a great evening and you should go.::yes:: :hyper: :wave2:

The parade and fireworks are fantastic! I didn't get to do some of the other things like some of the shows... but that's okay. There are practically no lines for any of the rides so I got a chance to go on some of the rides I'd never been on before :) I would recommend getting your family photo done early on, I noticed the lines getting really long as the night went on... We did our's first thing and waited maybe 5 minutes.

Plan a dinner Ps at LTT about an hour to and hour and a half before the party starts. These PS's open up early (Mid-summer?) and go fast. After dinner, you will be allowed to remain in the area until the party starts at 7:00. Others in the park are headed to adventure land. The dinner is wonderful and the experence of being one of few people in the liberty square is amazing. A few minutes before 7:00, stoll over to the presidents hall and be first in line for your free photo. Saves lots of time in late later.

Plan to spend the most of the party time seeing the special shows and concerts that you can not see other times. Unless you have small children, wait for the 2nd parade when it will be less crowed, but don;t miss the parade. Grap a free christmas cookie and hot chocolate before it starts.

Try to get a week-night party instead of week-ends. Less crowds.
Plan a slow easy day before the party . We slept late, had a nice breakfast and resort hoped and then took a long nap that day. We made it to midnight!!

Get ready to have an amazing evening.

We went twice during our vacation last year. We went on a Sunday and on the last MVMCP day which was a sold out Friday.

The Sunday was so great! We practically had the park to ourselves. It was our first night at WDW and it was so cool to commando the MK. We were riding BTMRR when the last of the fireworks were going off and it was like a whole new ride. I can't even begin to explain how cool it was. We didn't catch many of the shows, but we did get our picture taken and have a whole lot of fun goofin' around with lots of characters that were really open to being more playful than usual, since they were not surrounded by hoards of people. I would love to have another MVMCP experience like that.

The Friday night was a different experience. Not worse, but we certainly were not able to do the commando thing with the hoards of people that were there. It was wall to wall people. We still had a good time, but it was important to adjust our priorities that night. We did see some shows. We did get our picture taken. We did get to see Wishes for the first time. It was a great time, for what it was. I would not want to do another sold out Friday MVMCP again. I liked the freedom of the Sunday MVMCP much better.

I say GO! Have a great time, but try to avoid Thursdays and Saturdays. The locals come out in mass and it changes the experience. Maggie

Sounds like a "not to be missed" event.

Two questions:

Where is LTT ?

When does the Mouse start selling tickets to MVMCP ??

Thanks

It is not to be missed. LTT is Liberty Tree Tavern. It is a character dinner and is great!

We've done MVMCP 3 times now and we love it!

You get a great photo, the button, free hot cocoa and cookies. They make it snow on Main Street and the parade is wonderful!
WDW during the holidays is magical and this nights tops them all!

Do it!

My options for nights to do this are Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Which do you think is best?

Thanks!

I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly the days of the week they were scheduled last year were Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. We're hoping there is one before we leave on Dec. 1.

The idea about doing LTT late afternoon, about 5:45, is a good one. This is what we did. We finished eating around 6:45 and just walked across the street to Hall of Pres. and had our photos done with no wait. Then right down to Big Thunder Mt. for multiple rides. So cool.

The parade is excellent. As are the various shows. Not to be missed....the snow!!!

Also try to catch Candlelight Processional if you can. It's over in Epcot. World Showcase. It's a terrific show. It's one of the reasons we're going back at this time of year!!!

We had a blast! My DD loved the holiday parade and the snow on main street. We had dinner at LTT and was the first in line for the family photo. You will love it!

Uggg.. you guys. I have not been to MVMCP in a few years and now you are making me want to go:) Maybe a long weekend in December.....I love WDW at Christmas.

My gf and I are going, barring her deciding not to or (nothing short of) an earthquake leaving me stranded on a foot square bit o' land.

Guess we'll see you there!

(tazz, we ARE going ;) )

Oh no. The only day we'll have a shot at then is Dec 3rd, which is a friday. We are leaving on Sunday night, probably around 5. We will have all day Thursday, Friday and Sat, and most of Sunday to be in the parks.

Lets hope I can get it. How hard is it to get tickets if you call on the first day they are available?

When will they become available?
