Dh and I are taking a super quick 3 day trip in May. We both just realized this is Mother's Day weekend. Crowd calendars predict 5/6 lvls, which is manageable. Is this day or weekend usually busy? Are there areas we should avoid because of special Mother's Day events?

We were there for Mother's Day 2 years ago. I honestly didn't notice a difference. The Flower & Garden show was going on, so Epcot was predictably a little more crowded, but we still went there and it was fine! I don't think there were any special things going on.

Have fun!

We got engaged on Mother's Day 2012 and it wasn't super bad, but it wasn't the best either. We only did MK that day (it was our arrival day) and the park was quite crowded. We took a 4+ hour break in the evening when we had drinks at WL before dinner at AP. Then we did the Wishes cruise. When we went back to MK after all that (the park was open until 1 or 2AM that night), the crowds had thinned and we walked onto the headliners no problem.
We'll be back for the same dates this year and we're expecting more of the same.

DH & I have been there for the past few years on Mother's Day weekend. That being said, we normally go to the F & G show at Epcot.

We were there last year, it wasn't especially busy. It was like most days have been the past year.

Same here. We were there over Mother's Day in 2013 and crowds were fine. I can't remember where we went the day before but spent MD in EPCOT (F & G going on, certainly not empty but not CROWDED) then hit HS. Overall very nice weekend :)

I've been twice during this time and it was great. I love this time so much, I'll be there again! Happy planning.

No notice on crowd levels but all women have been given a flower when entering a park.

We went MD 2011, and thought the crowd at MK seemed pretty light. I assumed most moms chose F&G for " their" day, and sounds like I might've guessed right :). Got a big paper flower entering MK which was neat. Had brunch buffet at The Wave which was fabulous and got a real flower there. And got the family to pose for a nice pic (we dressed a little better than our normal park Tshirts) sitting by the Partners statue. Still one of my faves. Best Mothers Day to date :)
