Tell me about May

Awesome! Thanks everyone. You all just got me super duper excited for our trip. :cool1:
I am going to try to slow it down a bit and do half days in the parks and do more relaxing activities on the side. My family gets so annoyed at my drill Sargent tourin.:confused3
Will do rope drop some days with relaxing afternoons and then sleep in some days with evenings in the parks. We have 2 days at each park, so we should get plenty done....and it's not like we won't be back ;)

How about late May? I'm planning on right after Memorial Day, until early June. I went after the new year last year (January 1-7), and found things manageable (did rope drop, went back to the resort after lunch). How will late May compare?

We are there from the 18-24. I, too, was curious what the weather was like during that month and it sounds like it will be tank top and shorts weather. Packing should be so much easier than our last several winter trips where you never know what the weather is. I'm hoping that by checking out on the 24th, we miss out on the memorial day increase of traffic!

Also flower and garden festival. They say you can get a Dole whip with spiced rum at Epcot this year.

This will be mine! Oh yes, this WILL. BE. MINE! ::yes::

Headed down April 27 - May 05. Hoping for some great weather. We planned 3 days in MK, 2 days EP and 1 day AK. With a bit of downtime as well. The last time we went May 11-17 and it was darn near perfect. I think we had 1 storm that drove us out of Epcot early one afternoon, but we were able to go back later that evening and enjoy WS and Illuminations. It did get fairly warm (enough for us to fork over $25 for one of those mister fans!) But not unbearable. Crowds were lower than I expected, so hopefully we'll luck out on that again. I am FREAKING OUT!!!!! Can't wait! Tick tock, come on clock!

I think the Late April/Early May timeframe this year is going to be different than previous years, and not sure if the crowd calendars will accurately reflect it.

Easter is very late this year (April 20th) which will be an absolute busy time, plus school vacations in the northeast are pushed back a week for some reason. So, Massachusetts vacation week is April 21-25, while NH vacation week is as usual the next week, but very late for the season, Apr 28-May 2.

I'm in NH and while I'm glad our week doesn't coincide with Easter, I'm a little nervous as to what the later week will bring...

We were there last year during that time. While the parks were busy (first time visit so my busy may not be busy to somebody else) we had a very enjoyable time. Being there for rope drop certainly helped. Our first night at MK we were able to do ETWB with only a 20 minute wait. A pleasant surprise.

We are planning to go back this year at the same time.

Late May is only about a month into the 7 month Orlando summer season. It should just be "uncomfortably hot and muggy" instead of the "unbearably hot and muggy" you'd get June through mid-September.

We are doing 5/2-5/17. Love that time of year. Deliciously hot and crowds felt manageable in 2011. Hoping it delivers again.

We take our annual Disney trip Memorial Day week (we arrive the Saturday before Memorial Day and stay for 8 days). We have found the crowds to be manageable (we leave the park from around 2-5 due to weather and crowds though). The weather last year was significantly better than it was the prior year where it dumped every day (we were drenched the entire week). While we got almost daily thunder showers last year, they came and were gone in just a few shorts minutes. I would definitely plan on daily showers (we saved a ton of money by buying ponchos at our local dollar store), but enjoy your trip! It will be amazing!

I really enjoy May! Crowds are moderate, wait times were always great when we were there, and the weather is perfect! Not quite as hot or humid as Sept when we also go, but still super warm and sunny with not too much rain.
Crowds will probably be large at DHS due to Star Wars weekends, but that's about all I could think of!
