I tried to do a search on this but it doesn't seem to work for me.

I'd like to go to WDW when my contract wraps up at the end of February but the earliest I'll be able to head down is on March 1. I've always avoided March because I figure the weather wouldn't be as nice as May and the crowds would be significantly higher because of families on March break.

So what are the first two weeks like? I'm thinking of something like March 1-14 ... Will the March break crowds already be there and will it be warm enough for shorts.

TIA :)

Back in 1999 we went 2/26 - 3/6 and found it to be EXTREMELY crowded but the weather was fantastic! Sunny and 75-80 every day. I would say you'd be fine if you took your time, planned ahread, and utilized fast pass and single rider lines whenever possible.

Just remember... no matter what... you're at WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!

We went this year the first week of March and in 2004 we went during the same time period. I think this is a great time to go. We used to go in February to still get the cheaper pricing but it was worth it to me to pay more and have a better chance of nicer weather. In 2004 the Weather was in the 70's and 80's the entire time. This year we had the same but at night it got a bit cooler and we had to have a jacket on, but during the day it was hot. I didn't think the crowds were bad at all. Used fastpass when we could and never waited more than 15 minutes for a ride. I think spring breaks usually start happening around mid march til the end of April. I like this time of year to go.

We have gone in March in 2003 and 2005 and are planning March 8th -16 next year.

The weather was very nice and the crowds were very managable. One Saturday we went when MK was open late and had Spectromagic. It was very crowded. Try to avoid Saturdays.

In early March they will still be having the new pirates and princesses parties. This will most likely make it more crowded. I know I'll be there, and I never go in March even though we have AP's and live 2 hours away (too crowded, but I'll suffer through for pirates!).

That's another reason I want to go! I was bummed out that I was going to miss MNSSHP this year and I thought the Pirates and Princesses Party sounded pretty cool! Anything that involves collecting chocolate can't be bad :goodvibes

When you have gone in early March, was it warm enough to swim, enjoy the water parks, and get wet on the rides? Shorts? Sweatshirt for evenings?

How about later in March, the 22nd on? How bad is it with spring break crowds and when in March is the worst for both weather and crowds? Easter is Apr. 7 in 2007, late like this year. What impact will this have on March crowds?

We went this year March 15-22, 2006 and we had wonderful weather.. no rain, highs in the low 80's and only one am when a very light jacket was needed early. We wore shorts and swam in the pool everyday. We didn't think the crowds were too bad (1st trip so nothing to compare) and we only had an average wait of 15-20 minutes. We always went early and the parks did seem to get crowded around Noon when we were leaving. The worst crowds we had were at AK opening and leaving MK fireworks on Sunday night. I would go again in March just for the weather and I thought crowds were very manageable in comparison to the long waits I heard from friends who went in early May but they attend parks around Noon.

I don't know about the end of march , but in 2005 we went the last couple of days of feb. into the first couple of days in march.
Our first 2 days were about 77 and it was pool weather, the next couple of days were around 70 not warm enough for the pool. But I think march is different every year. I've only been one other time in feb. during school break and that was bad so I can't really compare the crowds that march week. They were definately better than in feb. But we did have some 30 min. waits on quite a few rides. The weather must be great by mid-march, I'd like to hear about how the crowds are too, that is when my youngest dd's birthday is, I would love to go then.
