We have reservation for 7 days in June at the Grosvenor Resort. What can you tell me about it...anyone stay there recently? Good things...bad things??

Thanks!

I'd see if you can get a good deal on the Hotel Royal Plaza instead. I haven't stayed at the Grosvenor in a few years, and wouldn't again - and looking at Trip Advisor, it doesn't appear that it has gotten any better (mostly bad reviews, the #212 hotel out of 281 hotels in Orlando). I got it on Priceline 2 or 3 times, and it wasn't worth the $35 I paid to stay there.

When I worked at DRC, the Grosvenor was a hotel that people complained about. The Downtown Disney hotels are supposed to be up to Disney standards, and it appears that never has happened. Check Mousesavers for rates on the Hotel Royal Plaza.

But, if you got it for $10.00 a night...well, maybe it'd be worth it. :) I'd stay at Pop Century WAY before I'd stay there again. I'd stay pretty much anywhere before I'd stay again.

Take my advice and book somewhere else this hotel stinks. Rooms are Dirty. Service awfull.

Haven't been since 2002 but our experience was pretty good. Nothing special, just a hotel. They have a small little snack bar area but we didn't eat there. I got it on hotelkingdom.com for $20 a night and couldn't pass it up. The only negative is the bus service, but DTD is just across the street and once we figured out we could walk over there and hop a bus it got much better. I'd stay again but that's based on only 1 stay there 4 years ago. They may have gone waaaaay downhill since then.

We stayed at the Grosvenor in 1997 because I had to attend a conference there. In 1997, it was nothing to write home about. I would continue hotel searching.

We stayed there a year ago and it was horrible. We would not return there. It was dirty and old.

I stayed there waaay back in 90 something. I can't remember when but it was when the Big Red Boat (Premiere Cruise Line) was still in existence. Anyway, that's the hotel we stayed in for our Disney part of the cruise. The hotel was just like any other hotel...nothing fancy...but we did get free USA Today newspapers :)

We've stayed there twice in the mid to late 1990's, both times through an airline vacation package (which is why I now book my own WDW trips!!) The first time we had a Tower Room and it was just average but not bad. Like someone else said, Downtown Disney is literally across the street so we didn't have to rely on hotel tranportation if we didn't want to as they shared with like 3 or 4 other resorts which took forEVER.

The second time was unbelievably horrid. We got stuck in the old section which is literally like an old, dirty, disgusting Motel 6 style block of rooms. We would have moved but it was Millenium New Years Eve 1999 and absolutely nothing was available. Food is terrible, staff are beyond rude and the transportation was still just as bad. Yuck...Yuck and triple yuck!

Stay ANYWHERE but there!

The old part (the wing area) is still old. The tower is better, but I've certainly not seen any renovations on it.

Again, the Hotel Royal Plaza is opening back up very soon. That is a MUCH better choice.
