We are looking at Nov.4th -11th. How are the crowds, weather etc. Is it too cold for swimming?

Had originally thought about July but the heat and crowds just seem like a nightmare. I don;t think I can handle 7 days of horrible heat and standing in 1-2 hour lines or longer.

Thanks for any info. I'm new to all this. Last time we went to Disney was back in 91 for our Honeymoon.

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

Crowds are manageable. It's the famous "Jersey Week" where many New Jersey schools are closed and WDW is swarming with New Jersians (is that a word?). So that week is a little more crowded than the week before and the week after.

As for the weather, average highs are around 80 and morning lows near 60. But you will still get some days early in November that will approach 90 degrees. The heat is not relentless though.

Hi! We will be at DW Nov 6-17th. We went last year in November and it was really great. The weather is beautiful at that time of the year. It's nice enough to wear shorts and tank tops, but not HOT at all. I never even had to put sunscreen on my daughter the whole time. Swimming wise, I know the pools are heated so if it is nice outside, you'll definitely be able to go swimming. The crowds were not bad at all, considering how bad it can really get! The longest wait time was 30 minutes. Hope this info helps!

Thanks Bob! That's pretty funny that I should pick that week. I grew up in Jersey and remember those teacher conferences. Never went to Disney then though.

So the crowds will be better then July crowds then?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!

July is the most crowded month from start to finish. Any period where schools are out ( July, Easter, Christmas) will be busier than when schools are not out.

Annie,

Florida weather is beautiful in November. Depending on where you are from, you can swim no problem. We have been to WDW the week before and the week of Thanksgiving. It is a delightful time!

We are heading back this Thanksgiving week and I cannot wait! :goodvibes

Anymore questions?

Hi...I am gonna be there from Nov. 8-18, celebrating my birthday on the 17th!! I went in November back in '03 and it was absolutely perfect. Looking at all my pics I took, there isn't a cloud in the sky in any of them and I took about 400 pics!! Crowds were so little that when I first got there it seemed kinda erie(sp?) because it was so not crowded compared to what I had seen before. We literally walked on and off all the major attractions. Never had to wear jeans or a sweatshirt and went swimming every night. It rained once out of the 10 days we were there and it literally lasted 10 min. and then back to sun. You really picked the best time to go! Have soooo much fun :cool1:

Thanks for the info. We are thinking now maybe to go the week before like Oct 29th-Nov. 4th. I'm sure the stuff you all mentioned still applies I hope. I would love to be there when the crowds are low but have warm weather warm enough to still wear shorts. Do the evenings get chilly requiring long pants and jackets?

Everyone on this site is so knowledgeable. I would have been lost with all the great info I have found here. I'm starting to get excited. I just hope we can still get ressies at the Wilderness Lodge.

:wave2: November is also a good time for the Food and Wine festival, and Super Soap Weekend--all the ABC soap Stars will be there on the weekend of the 12 & 13 at MGM. You will get a tan, so wear some sun screen and you might get bit by some Mosquitos, I did about 2 years ago.

When I was there in Nov. I never had to change into pants for the night, but as with warm weather anywhere, sometimes a jacket might be nice to have just in case it gets a little cooler throughout the night. Pack a pair of jeans just to have.

we were there last november 2nd week which was the week b-4
thanksgiving and it was great weather even went to the waterpark(s)
and they were nice also.great time of the year to go as the crowds are usually non existent and we are going back the same wk this year.. :hourglass

Well it sounds like the perfect weather and perfect time to go for us. Now I just have to hope we can get ressies. I'm so nervous we won't get a room at the hotel we want because it's only a few months away. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the replys!

We'll be there 11/3 to 11/7....have never been in November before so I appreciate all the info! My biggest worry was that it wouldn't be warm enough to enjoy some relaxing-by-the-pool time. Sounds like it should be nice enough to do it after all!

Last time we went it was the second week of November, our first and last day we had sun, the rest of the time was wet and chilly, this didnt stop us from doing any thing including a swim.

This year we are going from October 28th to November 6th, hope our weather is a tad better.

Have a wonderful time no matter when you go :wave2:

Nov was GREAT! We choose Nov of '02 to take the kids to their first trip to WDW.
We also experienced the NJ crowd and we picked (not knowing it) Super Soap Weekend.
It was a little more crowded, but sure was fun watching the Soap fans!!! :rotfl2:

I have had mine for over a month now. ;) If you change your Hotel choice, you can always call later, and also, be looking out for Codes for room discounts! :teeth:

I went in mid - November last year, and it was beautiful. :sunny: The weather was perfect, the crowds were light (even if it was Jersey week). I'm going back again November 8 - 15. :bounce: :bounce: What I really liked was the fact that it got darker earlier in the day so you could enjoy all the attractions lit up.

It does get a little cooler at night, so I did have a sweatshirt, but I carried a sweatshirt at night when I was just there at the end of April! I'm kind of a wimp!
