Our Nov. trip when we went through the Land my DD said she would like to eat dinner @ this restaraunt. I never really gave it a thought before, usually don't hear much about it. So ? is does anyone have likes and dislikes. Is there seats I should or can request so when it rotates we would get the best view. How is the food and can the kids order something besides what they serve family style. TIA

We like the GG for its great character interaction. Of all the character places we go this one seems to be the place the characters really spend the most time with the kids individually.

The food is good. Not great but good. I liked it better when they served Catfish everyday but now it is a Seasonal Sustainable Fish of the Day.

Kids meals are chicken nuggets and mac and cheese served family style just like the rest of the meal so that all can share both and choose what they like.

There is a review on my blog with a few pictures if you want to see - link in my signature, under Restaurant Reviews when you get to the homepage. It is down a bit on the page of reviews.

Hope this helps some. :)

We used to love it. Now I find the food to be just horrible.

My family loves the Garden Grill. We happen to really like the menu here. Especially, the fruit buckle. Yum!

Characters are: Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. :thumbsup2 The interaction here is wondeful! That's one of the reasons we picked the Garden Grill for my daughter's upcoming 1st birthday pick.

I can't wait!

the character interaction was great, the food ok, the service was terrible. The service was so bad that we will not go back. We can get great character interaction at other restaurants.

Agree!! We love Garden Grill - it's our first night at WDW tradition, and our kids' favorite table service restaurant (all boys - aged pre-school to pre-teen.) Our pickiest eater loves the family style kids items, and they usually have a fun dessert for the kids, too. Last February, it was a make-your-own cupcake.

We prefer requesting a table on the lower of the two levels, so we can sit in a semi-circle booth. We seat the kids on the ends of the booth so they can interact with the characters. The booth also keeps our youngest from seeing the characters until they arrive at our table, so he eats something! The upper level has tables and chairs - it's easier to move the kids around when the characters come by, so some families may prefer it.

We love it....although I think we're growing a little tired of the food. The food is good, the atmosphere is good, the character interaction is good. Definitley 'calmer' than any character buffet so a great choice for someone with really young kids or those just not willing to deal with the chaos of a chef mickey's.

Ok, DH and I ate there on New Years Day and we loved it! The food was great, the service impeccable and the character interaction was plenty!

We had Mahi Mahi, Flank Steak, Turkey, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce, Stuffing, Delicious salad and rolls. Dessert was a warm Blueberry pastry with alot of whipped cream.

BEST sweet tea ever, BTW!!

It was only DH and I and we had great character interaction. We saw Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale!

Our server Agnes was awesome. DH asked for alot of 2nd helpings and our server never disappointed. We never had to wait for anything. She even brought us drink refills twice without us even asking. AND the restaurant was packed-it was New Years Day around 6 pm. We didn't have a reservation and we waited only 15 minutes for a table!

In our opinion, it was a fabulous meal-awesome food, service and character interaction. DH & I gave it an A+++++ and we will be back! :thumbsup2

Everyone's opinions of food/service/restaurants will be different. What one thinks is gross another will find delicious. One guest may feel the service to be slow but another might find it at just the right pace.

I feel that people should NEVER decide to NOT go to a restaurant because of a negative review on a message board but give the restaurant a try if they truly want to!

We loved the Garden Grill when we did it last Feb. It was a last minute substitution for us when we changed parks due to weather. We had a table on the lower level, which was great because the girls got a great look at the scenes from Living with the Land as we rotated around. The characters were great. Chip and Dale sat down and gave the girls (2 and 5) a pantomime lecture on how to tell Chip from Dale. They came around a second time and the girls were so excited to show how they remembered. Pluto was great here too. Our best character pictures came from here. The food was good and we loved that a lot of it came from being raised in the building. I highly recommend this one.

i think we will be adding this to our next trip even though ds will be 15
i think he likes chip and dale more then mickey some times

We ate there last week and won't go back. The characters and the blueberry dessert were great. The service was SOOOOOO slow! Wow! It was 2 hours to get out of there. We actually revolved 2 times. The food was nothing special, meaning it didn't rate above fast food to me. I didn't hate anything, but didn't like it either. But we love Chip and Dale, so that was nice.

wow we have never had a bad experience there, we have started asking for ryan as our server he is the best, he doesn't work on tue and wed though, man i hope if you choose it it is a good experience..

We ate there year's ago -- the characters were the best part! They kept getting into fights with water bottles and paper towel rolls. The food wasn't for me, but I'm picky. Just a note of warning -- the rotation bothers some people.

Of the many times we ate at GG, the same thing happened to us only once. It is amazing how antsy you find yourself getting after that first hour.

The food at GG has generally been great, but it's rarely perfect. There are usually minor issues like dry steak, cold fish, and the seemingly endless changes to the dessert menu. But, the issues never made us say we'd never go back. The kids have a blast (the kid's menu tastes great :littleangel:), the characters are excellent, and the salad is the freshest at WDW.

I always joke to DW about the fact that, as your table passes the Land lobby, you feel like you are on display with catfish hanging out of your mouth. :lmao:
