Tell me about credit cards for these airlines

Our Podunk airport has only 3 choices.... Allegiant (direct flights and decent prices but flies into Sanford so we need a car each trip...plus they are a huge hassle to deal with if flight changes). Would like to go with either a CC for US Airways or Delta.

US Airways ... Very expensive it flies into MCO so it's convenient.

Delta ... My best bet as it flies into MCO? Flights still pricey though.

What I need to know is, is it worth it to have a CC for either of the last two? I would pay it off each month, just use it for purchases to earn $$ toward flights.

DELTA is actually getting better. their main hub is in Atlanta, and everything goes there and then gets rerouted to our final destination.

I loved delta, but annoyed this week I think they just changed allowing free seat picking. As the cheapest flight says seats picked at air port. I'm thinking Might sign up for SW due to this and recent trip issue.

The cc is worth it if u fly twice a yr. the bags alone save you $$.

Over all I'd rate them a 4 outta 5 until this week charging 50$ more per seat for me to choose to sit with my 1 yr old . Makes me think of spirit.

Last flight home in July I did not get to sit with my 1 yr ild she was in a different row. They didn't have seats together had to change flights as ours was delayed 6 hours.. And their policy is they will not ask peeps to move. How is this reasonable beyond me ... But made sense to the " red coat", As she called herself. So my 1 yr old sat next to strangers n they apparently minded less than they cared to move.

OMG! I can't believe anyone would think its okay to separate a 1 year old from their parent! Airlines really have gone too far!

The Amex delta card gets you one free checked bag. The US air card does not. Google "million mile secrets" and check out that website. He has a list of the airline credit cards current offers and their benefits.

Just for clarification, the Delta AmEx gets you one free checked bag for each person in your party, up to 8 I think. Definitely worth it for our family of 4. Even with the $95 annual fee, we still save $105 taking just one round trip flight a year.

Check out this page. It's an assessment of credit card offers to help you determine which are best. Of course it's just one organization's opinion, but it is nice to see the rates, fees, etc... all spelled out.

We use the Capital One Venture card - good rewards and it doesn't restrict us to one airline.
