I keep seeing bits and pieces about concierge level at the DL hotels but I want to know more! Can anyone give me rundown on the details, personal experiences, etc. Is it worth it??

We stayed at Concierge at DLH about a month back and felt it was not worth it. We were not asked ahead of time for help with reservations, there is no separate check-in area. The lounge is okay but we kept having to ask for beer and wine - its not readily available. The view for the fireworks is great but the lounge gets so crowded, you can't really see anything unless you get there really early. We also couldn't get our passes there (we wanted the premier passes, apparently every other kind is available through them)

The concierges are super nice and we appreciated the low carb options at breakfast (hard boiled eggs, cheese, and cold cuts) but we didn't feel those things were worth the $150/night extra.

The Grand Californian's concierge is much better than DL and lets not even talk about it compares to the Poly!!

We did concierge at GCH for a trip and it was fantastic! We got a phone call a few days before our trip offering assistance with whatever we needed. There is a separate check-in, so no waiting in line. The lounge is great because it gives you a place to hang out other than your room. (For us this was big since me, DH and our two kids were all in one room.) They have storytelling in the evenings for kids, as well as games and fireworks viewing in the lounge. It was never crowded (we were there in August so everything else was sure crowded!). You're not going to get three square meals a day out of the food offerings, but you can definitely put together a breakfast. We also took extras (bagels, yogurt, water bottles, cereal, etc.) into the park with us and that saved us some time and money when the kids got hungry. It was nice to be able to stop in for some munchies in the late afternoon and then back for dessert (and alcoholic beverages) at night! The best part was this . . . we were there the summer that WOC opened. We waited for several hours to get a great view, but while we were waiting for the show to start, my DH ran back to the concierge lounge and packed up some drinks and cookies so we could snack while we waited. They also have a separate concierge desk in the 6th floor lobby, where you can borrow DVDs or get assistance with whatever you need.

Do you *need* concierge? Of course not. I like it just because it's so easy, but including the food and convenience, we've decided it's probably worth about $125 a night for the 4 of us. I think we paid an extra $100 a night and DH and I agreed it was well worth it. $150 would be pushing it. $200 - no way. That's just the value we put on it, YMMV!

As others have said, it all depends. We did PPH concierge and we loved it. It would have been a better value had we been four instead of two. Breakfast was perfect for us and the chips, water, soda saved us from spending money on those items in the park.

Heaven on earth. That's concierge :thumbsup2

Last trip was a girls trip, we stayed at the Grand. It was so wonderful. I know this is a very different experience that if you had kids with you, but there were many families enjoying this too. You don't have to pay for breakfast and they have a great happy hour too. At night the dessert buffet is great too.

We really enjoyed the time just sitting in the comfy chairs and talking, catching up. We weren't in a hot hurry to get into the parks or do everything. We wanted each others company and we all love Disneyland.
We had special check in, the room was fab. Nothing NOT to like. We LOVED it.
