Which one would you suggest? Breakfast or dinner? And what are the prices?

We normally have a character breakfast at WDW around 11:30, but I am not sure if they do it so late at DL.

Thanks

See www.dlresortinfo.com for more details on prices and food for all character meals.

My family likes Minnies at the plaza the best. We like to do it on a day with EE. We play for a few hours, then have breakfast around 10-10:30. It usually keeps us going until dinner time. We really like not having to leave the park, as that takes too much time!

We are going to DL in a few days & we decided to go for a Character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. Since we have never done one before, I read up on a ton of threads & even though all of them got good marks by diff people, it seemed that Goofy's Kitchen stood out to me more for having a better food selection & the possibility of seeing more characters. Who knows if that is true, but I guess we'll fine out later this week! :goodvibes

Also, we opted for the breakfast (over dinner) since it was a little cheaper & I figured it would start the day off with a bang for the kids.

As far as time, when I originally made our PS, I asked for 11:00 (thinking we would do an early morning in the park, then break for a late breakfast). The person on the phone said that it was fine to schedule it for that time, however it would only give us 1 hr max inside the restaurant (instead of the normal 1-1/2 hours that they allow for a family to stay, or something like that) since they close breakfast at 12:00 p.m. (IIRC). So I went ahead & bumped it back to 10:00 a.m.

I wouldnt use the dlresortinfo site because they arent that up to date...the best one which is updated more frequently is...http://www.allearsnet.com/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

also I totally agree with hlbtimes on the Minnie and Friends....its my favorite out of all of them...goofys kitchen is the only character meal that you can do for brunch or dinner..the others are strictly breakfast...

We at at Goofy's yesterday for breakfast. Saw Goofy, of course, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Jasmine, Alice and Baloo. Food selection was good. Might want to be aware that there will be lunch type choices on the food bar as well as a gigantic selection of sweets like ice cream, rice krispie treats, and other desserts.

Have a great time!

When we were there, we went to three character meals. Minnie & Friends, Ariels, and Lilo.
I've been to character meals in WDW, and I have to say, I thought the food at DLR was far better.
When we were there, the hot stuff was hot, the cold stuff was cold, and the food was EXCELLENT. It was a nice surprise! We understand that you're paying for the character experience, but it was great having really good food, too.
At Minnie's, we had mickey waffles, cinnamon encrusted french toast, made to order omlettes, great breakfast potatoes, sausage, ham, bacon, lots of different fruit and juices.....all it all, A+. We'd go back again, for sure. In fact, I wanted to go back the next morning! The character interaction was really good, too. We saw Pooh (actually, our reason for going!), Minnie, Hook, Max, & chip and dale. A couple of them came by twice. We had a later sitting, at 10am, as it was our first day there after late night flight.
I'm not sure we're ever going to be able to go to DLR and not go to Ariels, at least until DD is significantly older. Our first experience, Thanksgiving of 2005, she had her autograph book out and we took pictures with each of the princesses and put them in the book. She slept with that autograph book under her pillow for almost a year. Took it in for show and tell multiple times. When she heard we were going back to DLR, the first thing she said was "yay, we get to see the princesses!" I think the kids' food is nothing to write home about, but it's good. The adult food I've found to be excellent. We took nana this time and both she and I had something different and enjoyed both of our meals. I have found it very difficult to get DD to actually eat during this experience for both of our visits. We've done dinner each time. I think it adds to the ambiance to have it a bit darker. We've had excellent interaction with the princesses when we've been there, but have heard others say they were fairly abrupt.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with Lilo and Stitch. Honestly, our service was TERRIBLE and the character interaction was minimal. Our waitress seemed to be servicing too many tables and had to rely upon the other staff to take care of things, and he didn't speak much English and didn't understand me alot of the time. The food, however, was very good. There weren't as many choices as Minnie's, but the selections were a bit more exotic. I LOVED the bannana's foster french toast! Nummy! This experience was pretty much a bummer, especially since I had heard such glowing reports from others in the past. They had talked about all sorts of fun stuff happening with the kids, and it totally didn't happen when we were there.
I like to plan a character meal outside the parks for my last day at DLR or WDW. It's a way to continue the magic just a little bit more. At DLR, I like combining it with a trip to Build a Bear or Club Libby Lu.

The only one we've done is Ariel's. We went for dinner. The food was pretty good. I had made our PS for 5:50pm and we had our food by 6:30. My only real complaint, I guess, was being interrupted so many times during dinner. We did get to see Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle though. I'm pretty sure I could get the kid to go again but I think we'll do Minnie's next time around.

My favorite is Ariel's Grotto. We got to see everyone but Sleeping Beauty and got some awesome pictures. The food is really good, too. Storytellers Cafe has good food (brunch) but you don't see too many characters. Goofy's Kitchen has good characters but so-so food (IMO).
