My Girl Scout troop is staying there this July. It is a special tour given by our council. So what do you know about this motel. Tell me all about it.

We just stayed there last week. In my opinion, here are the best things: it is right across the street from Disneyland, so that is great. We had a parlour suite, and the layout was perfect for us and our son...we put him to bed in the bedroom and stayed up in the living room. Also, we could see the Disneyland fireworks out our back window. There is a continental breakfast, which isn't the best in the world, but definitely better than others (danish, cereal, toast, fruit, juice, milk).

On the con side, the beds were pretty hard, and the pillows were flat and hard. The housekeeping was okay, but not great. I found other people's hair in a few places, and there was a thick layer of dust on the clock radio and some grime on the bathroom door.

Overall I'd say it's a great location and a good value for your money if you're not expecting to be able to eat off the floor (and bring your own pillow if you can).

Have a great time!

We stayed there the 2nd week in December and really liked it. It is definitely not the fanciest hotel around but is more than adequate in our opinion. I think you'll find that, especially with a bunch of kids, the location is just fantastic. It literally takes 5-6 minutes to get to the turnstiles of the 2 parks. The location makes it really easy to go back for an afternoon break or to eat off-site.

As mentioned above, there is a continental breakfast that is ok, nothing too great but serves it's purpose and it's free. There is also a little store for snacks, souviners, etc. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, neither of which we used. They both looked pretty small but that who knows, they might be fine for your group.

As for the room, there was a good size refrig., microwave, desk, 2 beds in the bedroom and a tv. In the living room area there was a smallish pull out sofa, of which when it's open takes up the whole room. There was also a tv in the living room. I think bed preference is very much a personal thing. We found the beds to be just fine. Housekeeping was fine. We missed it one day because our kid was napping. FYI, they do start the housekeeping pretty early and the carts are very noisy going down the hall.

There is a fireworks viewing deck on the roof which is nice. The front desk staff was very helpful towards us and arranged for early check in and called a cab for us on departure.

Other things - parking is 1 car per room, no matter what size of a suite you have. FYI, since it sounds like you're traveling with a pretty big group. ??? The rooms have outdoor entrances and noise can be a factor if someone is sleeping in the living room. We found our AC/heater to be pretty loud. There are quarter-operated luggage storage lockers next to the breakfast room if you have a late departure on your check out day or an early arrival on your check in day. Also, probably doesn't apply to your group, but they have cribs available for $6 per day and having used many hotel cribs, I thought it was one of the better ones that I've had.

There's an IHOP and Denny's next door and a McDonald's a few doors down. There's also a coupld of sit down restaurants close by too.

Overall, I think it's a very decent place to stay, depending on your needs. The location and suites were top priority for us with a little kid (we hate sharing a room with a toddler!). Feel free to ask me more specifics - I'm happy to share whatever info I can remember!

We stayed there this past May and had a Family Suite (2 adjoining rooms, 4 queen beds in total).
The location was fantastic, my dd stayed in a crib (which they did not charge us for :-) ), and the rooms around ours were fairly quiet.

My only complaint was that they started repairing the pavement outside our room while the kids were having a nap (a little warning would have been nice)

The staff were helpful, looked after our suitcases for us when we had checked out (didn't fit into their lockers), our flight out was in the evening.

Like everyone else has said, the breakfast is not the best - but when you are running a little late to catch a bus somewhere, it's very handy :-)

We have stayed there before but I was wondering about the breakfast. We will bring our own cereal but I do not want to haul milk and bowls will I be able to use theres? Will they have coffee?

Thanks! I will bring our stuff down there then. Hope I can fill my coffee mug too!:drinking1

Coffee sucks. Tasted like the day before. I can usually choke down anything this was un drinkable. The rooms closer to the front can get VERY noisy around 6am when the garbage truck arrives. Even if they dont' pickup the hotels garbage they pick up Dennys and its pretty loud. YES the beds in the parlor suites are hard as a rock. I wrote in TripAdvisor you are better off sleeping in the parking lot.

They have) Cereal, 2 cold 1 instant oatmeal, cheap danish, fruit, cheapo white bread, industrial toaster, butter and jam squares, OJ, MILK, COFFEE, punch of some kind. Bowls, spoons, tiny paper plates. Ehh it's free and it gets ya going. I always bring my own yogurt and cereal. I sometimes bring english muffins and use their toaster and jam. Its nice having the bowls, milk danish etc. If the terrible coffee is at least fresh I can usually choke it down, but if its left over from the day before I can't drink it. :surfweb:

:cheer2: I must be one of those odd people because I slept great back in October '06 when we stayed here. Yes they were hard, but I loved it. So much so that we are going back this May and we are bringing 5 other people along with us. The breakfast was sad, but the fridges in the room helped and there is a Target a cab ride away to get supplies and I hear that Albertson's delivers.

Do they have coffee makers in the rooms?

Yes, they have coffee makers.

I agree about the beds. They were a harder bed, but I loved it and slept well, especially since I was following 2 12 year old boys each day. I was exhausted!

We stayed there in December and thought it was great. We go about once a year and have stayed at several of the hotels on Harbor. This was by far the best! Great location. VERY clean. Free continental breakfast, it's not a lot but it helped get us going in the morning. Great rates. Microwave and refrigerator in all rooms. I thought the beds were really comfortable actually, not too hard at all IMO.

My only complaint would be that if you are taking a shower in the morning be prepared for little to no water pressure at times. Everyone else in the hotel is taking a shower at the same time, we have experienced this elsewhere too, so it isn't specific to this hotel.

Here are a couple of pictures. We had a Parlor A Suite.

We stayed there last year May/June timeframe and had a suite - basically two rooms with connecting door. I liked having two bathrooms and each had the sink and mirror area outside of toilet/shower so more of us could get ready at once. We really liked the rooms and rate and convenience but my dh couldn't start his day on the little cont. breakfast so I (with great difficulty) got the SUV out of the parking area and made a McDonalds run each morning).

They also have a laundry area and since we were on an 8 day vacation, I washed some clothes the night before we started our MK adventure!

Have fun!

This thread is perfect. I just made a reservation for a parlor suite earlier this week!

Thanks!

Wow I was just able to book a deluxe room for 4 nights for only 271.00 with tax.

Now that is a fantastic rate.
