Hi there! I am a mom of a 2 year old and I know that there will be MANY trips to Disneyland ahead. We will only be going on weekdays (no weekends nor holidays) in the future.

With that in mind,

1. What pass should I purchase?

2. How much are they?

3. Where can I buy them?

4. If I were to buy an annual pass in September 2008, do they expire September 2009, or do they expire the FOLLOWING year once they have been redeemed for the first time?

Thanks a million! I can always count on you guys!!!;)

1. What pass should I purchase?
Since you are in So. Cal and you don't plan on going on the weekends and holidays you can buy the So Cal select annual passes that have the weekends and holidays blocked out

2. How much are they?
They Start at $134

3. Where can I buy them?
Over the phone, At the ticket Booths, or online: https://secure-disneyland.disney.go...ated/landing?name=AnnualPassholderLandingPage

4. If I were to buy an annual pass in September 2008, do they expire September 2009, or do they expire the FOLLOWING year once they have been redeemed for the first time?
The clock starts ticking after first use!

I have a little bit of a different opinion than CrazyDuck so I thought I would offer my thoughts.

Although you say weekends and holidays are not necessary, the Southern CA Select has a LOT of blackout dates, particularly in April and December, as well as June and the ENTIRE month of July (yep, EVERY day is blocked out).

However, if you are really sure you will not want to ever go on weekends, I would agree with purchasing the So. Cal Select Pass. If you go with the regular So. Cal. pass though, you can go on Sundays most of the year (should you decide that you want to) and it's only $40 more than the So. CA Select. (Not that much more money, but adds a lot more options to your Disney fun!)

No matter what pass you get, I would add parking ($59), paying for it each visit adds up very fast. At $12 a shot, by your 5th visit you are ahead of the game.

Pricing:
The Southern CA Select is $134 (This is the one CrazyDuck mentions.)
Southern California is $174. (Worth the extra $40 imho.

You can view the blockout dates and pricing here to figure out what will work best for your needs.

One last thought based on the info you provided. Remember, your 2 year old does not need at pass atm, but will once turning 3.

Whatever you decide to go with, enjoy!

You can also start with the So Cal Select pass and then you can always upgrade, if you decide you should've bought the next higher pass. You just pay the difference in the price of the passes. The expiration date on the upgraded pass stays the same as the original pass.

Personally, I would AVOID the So. Cal. select. There are so many days blocked out.....most of the month of April (only 8 days not blocked out,) almost all of June (only 7 days not blocked out,) ALL of July, most of August (only 9 days not blocked out.)

When I had a pass, I always had a premium. It was well worth the money. We went at least once a week. We used the discount on food a lot. And the discount on merchandise (I love my disneyland hats, sweatshirts, etc.)

Definitely add Parking to whatever you choose...it's well worth it! I think you only have to go 5 times to have it paid off.

If your little one is going to be turning 3 soon, you'll want to buy him/her a pass as well.

We get the So Cal Pass. We had the Select the first time but we upgraded to a regular So Cal since we could go on a lot of Sundays. For us the So Cal pass works great. My daughters are 6 and 3 and my older one has a fall break in early Oct which is not blocked out at all (except Sat) so we always plan a 3-4 day trip during that time so it more than pays for itself there, and then we just take a few more day trips throughout the year. We aren't the types who go to DL all the time (maybe every couple months or so) so we don't really need the Deluxe or Premium but the So Cal works out nicely for us.

Our passes expired in May and we haven't renewed yet since we would be blocked out most of the summer anyway but we are going to buy 3 day hoppers for this weeked and then upgrade to the So Cal Pass so we'll be all set when dd's fall break comes around. Whenever we get new passes we always go during a blackout period because it's like getting free blockout days!!
