Telescope for 11 yo

Anyone have a recommendation for one? I don't want to pay a lot, but I don't want something worthless either.

Not sure, but usually around this time of year, QVC has had one as a Today Special Value. We bought one there a number of years ago and it was fine for our needs. Nothing special, worked well and not very expensive.

Thanks. I'm looking for something that he'll be able to see the moon/planets with, for astronomy and such.

I know we paid less than that due to the TSV, but can't recall how much - the software with this one was good.

Our 11 yo bought this one and LOVES it! It packs up in the backpack and he can taking it camping,on vacation etc.
