We love buffets like Chef Mickeys for the food (believe it or not). But my kids are getting to the point where they really don't enjoy character interaction. I am torn if I should just book regular non-character buffets or keep our Chef Mickey tradition when we go next year. I probably won't be on the dining plan anymore.

What are your teenagers favorite places to eat that won't break the bank? These boys love to eat.

My teenage son with the endless appetite loved Hollywood & Vine's dinner buffet. I think it cost $23.99, but he probably ate more than that value in shrimp, seafood pasta, roast beef and desserts. He also enjoyed lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and Biergarten.

I love the breakfast buffet at the Yacht Club Galley.. no characters and the food is good. I would make an ADR if interested..

Boma and Cape May Buffet have no characters. Other suggestions for lunch would be Sci Fi Dine Inn and 50s Prime Time. Not buffets but good food and good sized portions. Plus some fun. Don't forget about Whispering Canyon. Or Trail's End (buffet). The Biergarten. ESPN Club, Big River Grill.

My younger brother is 19 and eats like a machine ... we tend to hit some combination of Boma (great breakfast), WCC (skillet for breakfast or dinner), Trail's End (dinner), Biergarten (dinner), and Hollywood and Vine (dinner). Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are still good buffet choices, even with the characters, but we prefer breakfast at both. Ohana does a nice family style breakfast, too.

I hate paying for him to have entrees at the TS restaurants because two hours later (when I'm still moving slowly from being over full), I turn around and see that he's eating a burger or ice cream or something. So, we try to work in a buffet every day or two. I don't think there's anything wrong with a character meal now and then, but we limit it to about one per trip.
