Teenage Tour Group Nudity at ASMo Pool

I wonder, if asked, if Disney would tell when you called to book, how many tour groups were booked for the same time? My dollar is as good as the one they spend. I might book at a different time if I could get the info. We typically go late, late fall or February. Have experienced the groups but nothing like what is being reported about the size and behavior this summer.

Thank you for your help. I don't mind spending $5 more a night. We are leaving Thursday, so I don't want to make a change now. Plus, ASMo is the place my kids and I really wanted to stay for the theming. Maybe we will get lucky and not have a bad experience. :wizard: Maybe they will start to thin out to since we are heading into August.

However, if they do ruin my stay at ASMo, I will complain and ask to be moved to another resort.

Thanks for your help!

That is exactly what I would do. I do believe July is the big month so maybe they will indeed be gone by the time you get there!

We have done All Star stays many times, and I know once we were staying when a huge group of kids was there and we never saw or heard a peep from them. I hope you have the same experience!

We stayed at ASMO our very first trip and its a great resort. For theming, you cannot get more Disney than All Star Movies!

And if the worst happens, go right to the desk and tell them you want to be moved to another resort. Disney wants their customers to be pleased and happy. While they can't seem to take a stand and keep these groups out, they also don't want to have other guests upset. But it can sometimes take working with a manager or two to get a situation resolved.

Have a great trip!

Did anyone else experience the young (appearing to be 14-15 year old), teenage girl tour groups from Brazil and/or paraguay on the evening of July 11th at the All-Star Movies Fantasia Pool?? They LOUDLY walked in LARGE groups (blocking the sidewalks to other guests) in their thong bathing suits to the Fantasia Pool around 5pm...then decided that it would be funny to REPEATEDLY rip off each others bikini tops for at least the next hour!! Now, I'm no prude, by any means...our 18 & 14 year old daughters wear short-shorts, bikinis, etc... but this was bizarre behavior!! It very well may be ok, or acceptable in the country in which they live, but it is not ok in the USA. Additionally, our 6 year old son did not really need to experience this AT DISNEY WORLD of all places! Not to mention how uncomfortable this made our 14 year old daughter...I mean, SERIOUSLY! One would have thought the lifeguards would have done something to stop this, but somehow, they turned a blind eye to it, much to my dismay! We tried to avoid this by going the quiet pool, but it too was over-ran with the same group and same troubles...with no life-guards, causing their behavior to be somewhat worse!

I am sorry, but WDW really needs to get a handle on the behavior of ANY and ALL group visiting their resorts...American, Asian, Japanese, Latino, or what have you...NOT just the Latinos. Fortunately, we did not have too much other trouble other than a few groups refusing to share the sidewalks/walkways...much to their surprise, I refused to allow them to push me or my family off our side of the walkway and just plowed right through them. Then we had the occasional flag in our face, group sitting in the middle of a main walkway (again, I just plowed through), and 1 or 2 whistle blowers.

HOWEVER, on a more positive note...we were told there were 64,000 kids in WDW that were part of a tour group the 2 days were were there. With that being said, MOST were well behaved and did appear to have manners...I guess it could have been much worse!

Now if you wrote 18-20 year olds I may have had something witty to say....the groups as a whole as always making life uncomfortable for guests...but while I usually fume about the groups I then realize even though they feel life revolves around them they are excited to be there so I kinda just deal with it.....

Personally, I'm tired of excusing poor manners. Disney should have intervened, not because it's Disneyworld, but because it is illegal to expose yourself in public in this country. I hope nobody posts them on you tube, since they are under age this would set you up for child pornography charges. Ironic, isn't it, you can't see this on you tube, but it's available at Disnetworld.

:scared1:

WOW! I guess we lucked out with nice Brazilian tour groups in JUNE! We were at AS Music and there was a big group there of 14-15 yo teens.

We were with a dance group and some of our dancers talked to the Brazilians and found out that not only do they tour WDW but they had already toured NYC, DC, beaches too.

Now we did have the mom in thong at the AS Music pool that caused quite the conversation on the pool deck. She had her two young children with her and was foreign but was not with a tour group.

I'm appalled Disney did nothing to stop the scene you witnessed. :scared1:

I would have called the police...not 911, but the police....or Googled how to say "put your back on slut...slut means the same thing in my language versus yours....right?"

Or maybe I should have flashed mine and they would have gotten the point...we don't want/need to see it!!! :lmao:

well florida actually doesn't have a law preventing that (only things "below the belt" so to speak)

I'd wondered about that. Here in Ohio there was a court ruling awhile back that stated that breasts were not considered sexual organs.

As you see in my earlier post, yes, it was reported to management and told that the lifeguards were witness to the situation but did nothing...I honestly think they (the resort management staff) were having so many complaints with this group they were running themselves ragged and very frustrated (clogging the lobby with kids sitting wall-to-wall in main walk ways seemed to be a big problem anytime we went in or near the lobby...MAJOR fire code violation, mind you!).

Do write then and let them know of your disappointement in the entire situation.

I don't know why Disney doesn't get a handle on these out of control tour groups? These Tour Group Companies should be given a sheet of acceptable or unacceptable behaviour, and expectations of chaperoning teens.

Those companies who continually bring tour groups and don't do an acceptable job of chaperoning should be banned from being able to book WDW vacations.
I feel it's just as much the Tour Companies fault as Disney's for failing to control these groups. Esp. when their behaviour infringes on others vacations.

I was almost knocked to the ground by one group rushing to get to the raised platform in Italy to do their cheer. I had the misfortune of being in their way I guess. Would have been a bad end of my vacay if I broke something.

Their behaviour abroad is rather ugly, and it's about time Disney addresses this.

Supposedly at least the leaders of these groups are spoken to about acceptable/unacceptable behavior. Probably just park type rules, but they ignore it anyway.

IMHO, that many kids+that few adults= the reason we have so many threads about this subject. I've said it once and I'll say it again. Why on EARTH doesn't Disney impose a rule limiting the number of minors in a group without an adult!? If malls can do it (and 2 in my area enforce this rule on Friday and Saturday nights mostly), then certainly Disney can do it. There needs to be 1 adult per however many kids (5, 8, 10..something in that area). Not "Why don't we let 75 16 year olds run completley amuck and not watch/reprimand anything they do!!" Latinos, Pop Warner, hell even locals, that many kids together is just asking for trouble! Breaking rules is breaking rules. As far as the groups from other countries not understanding English..give me a break. Even if you TRULY don't speak the language, body language is rather easy to understand. Not completely universal, but if someone walks up to you and looks angry and speaks to you in a loud/angry voice, you're probably doing something wrong and should stop. Any one of us could go to Russia/China/Egypt/Mars, and do something we think is harmless...but I'd bet if someone approached us and acted angry, we'd probably say "sorry we don't speak this language" but we'd probably stop whatever we'd been doing.

Yes, they probably do ignore any rules given, which is why I feel that the Tour Companies who do, should be banned from being able to book Disney for their groups. That's the only way these companies will make sure their kids are properly supervised, and kept in control.

Ah the tour groups. One of the biggest reasons we will never go in July again! I'm very mild mannered but about lost it several times when my fuse was shorter any way by the heat. Several times knocking into the stroller and pushing into me. We made sure our daughter was in the stroller because they would knock over little kids without a care. Figured at least a little protected in the stroller. I guess my teacher evil eye didn't translate either. Hubby is a big guy so if we got stuck in lines to leave park etc he would push thru the huge group. I mean picture all of them trying to leave the park all at once! They just kept pushing past me and about knocking the stroller over. The kicker was the look i would get like it was my fault and how dare I be in their way.
The chanting can be a good thing if you use it as a warning signal to leave the area and go the opposite direction no matter what our plans were.

It's not just the young kids. I have friends in Orlando right now and they wen to sea world yesterday. A grandmother type from one of the brazilian tour groups pushed her 7 year old literally to the ground to get to the aquarium first.

I can answer the question of "why doesn't Disney do anything?" with one word: MONEY. The money these groups bring in make the summer. It is very likely that there were 64,000 Brazilian kids in the area during July. When you see those numbers, you can see why nobody wants to stop that gravy train from rolling into town every year. They bring in tons of money not only for WDW but for the entire central Florida area, the beaches and South Florida. Nobody is going to take the risk that they'll find another vacation destination. Shoot, judging by the package delivery Amazon would cry if they stopped coming too! :lmao:

As has already been mentioned, the key months are July and January. Not that you won't see groups other times of the year, but those two months are the largest. In July the groups are pretty much everywhere-not just All Stars but Port Orleans and other moderates. These groups fill up floors of hotels and keep 4 in a room. There are groups that stay outside of Disney as well.

If you can switch your vacation time even by a couple of weeks into late July or August you can miss the worst of it.

They won't give out that information..Even when I called and asked about any large groups the first full week of December( which I KNOW is Pop Warner week) the Disney cm claimed NO knowledge of it..Typically the large Brazilian tour groups are there in force in July ( which is their winter break) and January( their summer break).Disney will NEVER turn down $$$ and groups like Pop Warner and tour groups bring in lots of $$$$..In fact with all the shenanigans that occurred 2 yrs ago with PW , their contract with disney was still renewed.

We stayed at CBR July 14th thru July 21st and there were two brazilian tour groups there at that time. We were in a different section than them so it was fine. But they did overtake the main pool late at night. But in the parks tour groups were all over. I, also, am rethinking going in July. The tour groups were very challenging this year especially in the parks. We made the best of it but some days were tough. We still had a magical stay and we loved CBR.
