Teen Partying on DCL?

DD will be old enough for the Teen club on our next cruise. I was doing a search tonight, and came across some message boards on cruisemates.com. They have a Teen message board, and the discussions there are quite frank about teen drinking on cruises. Apparently, it's pretty easy to get access to alcohol, and a lot of partying goes on in the cabins that kids don't share with parents. DCL wasn't mentioned in any of the messages I read, and I'm sure the counselors wouldn't allow this in the club, but I'm now thinking I'm going to be keeping close tabs on my kid. She's a good kid, but a little impulsive. Has anyone seen any signs of tipsy teens on DCL? Diana

Yes, but I don't know whether it was alcohol, immaturity or both...

They separate the teen somewhat into 13-14 age adn 15-17 age. At 13 my daughter wasn't comfortable in the club and aI heard many other parents say the same but at 14 see was right at home. My other son had a blast as a 16 and we allowed him to stay out late and they did visit one staterooom that was only occupied by two girls-but I do believe they were there as a group of 4 plus teens at any time. I can't say there is no drinking because I don't know for sure but I feel my sone has did not drink and unless it is supplied by an adult it is hard to get. I know they did ask for ID at some bars and you have to pay with your key card and mine had adult printed on the card and my son's did not. He also had fun as a 17 too and again I feel that he was not drinking.

I did have some friends just get back from a Carnival cruise and some other friends get back from a Princess cruise and they both said that there was teen drinking and it was obvious.
