"Just for your edification - the 2-way radios don't work well in the parks. Too much static and too many people on the same channels. It's best to just leave the 2-ways at home."

mmausse, I have to disagree. You must have been using the 2-way radios with just 14 channels and no subcodes. We always take our 2-way radios with us, even though most of us have cell phones now. As long as you have subchannels, the radios work pretty well most of the time. We program the same 3 pre-set channels on each radio, and simply go to one of them if the channel we are on gets too "crowded".

I was a chaperone for a high school band for five trips to WDW. We would send 60-80 kids off into the parks. They were all required to be in groups of at least 3. Absolutely no exceptions, including bathroom breaks, too scared to ride a certain ride, etc. They were also not allowed to leave the park. Everyone was told when and where to meet for a mid-day check-in and at the end of the day. I am happy to say that we never had a single problem.

Having been a chaperone for such a large group, we were also required to check in with First Aid every hour. The cast members were always very helpful when we needed to call (the trips were before cell phones became popular). And, having to visit a couple of First Aid centers, I have to say, they are amazing places! Fortunately, it was for nothing more severe than a slightly upset stomach and a blister. The CMs there are wonderful and very helpful. The centers are immaculate and have everything necessary for all kinds of emergencies.

Have fun and try not to worry too much! Hopefully, you have as great a group of young people as I had the privilege of working with.
