Teen girls and Northface Jackets (color)??

My dd has a green Denali but I have not seen a single color stand out at the k-8 school. at one point I asked about temp ratings and was told by a north face rep probably 30 to 40 for Denali. it would not work for real winter weather where I live but I do see kids wearing them all winter.

My 17 year old has a black Oso she got for Christmas last year. Near killed me to spend 140 on a zippered hoodie. It's awfully soft and cozy, but not warm enough for freezing temps -- although she'll say it is since that's all she wears all winter! But last year was relatively warm near us.

has 25% off I believe today and tomorrow. Then another 20% off if you open a charge. I would pick one out and she can return it.

They have an Oso in brown. I bought a fuscia Denali for myself yesterday. :)

We live in upstate NY and DD (9th grade) wears her fuzzy pink Denali all year. She is only outside a few minutes to get on/off the bus. If she is outside for something else she has a "real" winter coat from LE but she will only wear it if instructed to do so. Being warm is not "cool" in MS or HS.

Oso/Osito is the it style here for girls. I see a lot of pinks, whites, some black. They're not that warm, imho. But like most teens, dd insists it's fine.

My older DD19 has a brown Denali. She's had it for a few years and love it.

My younger DD15 has a mint green Osito jacet (no hood) None of the jackets with hoods are popular around here.

I see the girls in all sorts of colors -- boys mostly in black, brown or dark blue

:rotfl2: Oh, I remember those days! We're not quite there with my DDs, but the older girls at her Catholic school wear skirts with bare legs all winter! They wear fuzzy pj pants to/from school, but all day they have bare legs, including the 15 minutes they have to go outside after lunch. Apparently tights and leggings are not cool, either. I see tons of Northface jackets too, and they just do not look warm enough for our IL winters!

just a note; north face kids run big,, my dd 13 almost 14 has a XL and its big on her.. shes 5 1' weights about 125

We have had several Northface jackets and I think the one I liked the best was her chocolate one. She also had the fussy off white one but it got dirty so easy. I did like it though.

She has moved on to the Patagonia jackets now, as much of our school has. Northface is not as big now around this area. Here is a link to the one I just bought her.

The one we got was more of a caramel color but I dont see it on this site. We got ours at a local store. Anyway, the girls here are also wearing the Patagonia pullovers. My daughter has one of these too and she wears it a lot.

What color is popular among teen girls for Northface Denali jackets? I know black is a popular color. How about brown? What are the most popular color jackets in your area? TIA

High school, it's black or white only, with black edging them out. Can't say I've seen any other color. :lmao:

My 18 year old daughter who is a college freshman has a black North Face and an off white Patagonia.

I agree with this. The girls wear the oso, the boys wear the denali. Elementary age girls seem to wear colors (blue, green, pink, etc.) HS girls wear black. Boys seem to wear black or gray.

I guess it really depends on area. All the kids wear Denali NF here.
Boys and girls alike.

And colors too. Boys will wear red, blue, black or grey.
Girls wear black, brown, pink/coral, teal, and white.

I say maybe let her pick her color, only because of the expense and long time she will be wearing it, it might as well be a color she will love. I did some sneaky recon to find out what color DD would like, that is how I got the brown one.

DD17 has the black Osito and she is getting the white/grey Denali for Christmas. She also has a black down jacket (maybe the Thunder?) but I wear it more than she does :rotfl:

My DD 14 almost 15 she has the black Denali and she wears a Burberry scarf with it - looks really cute

I also have one and I agree it's not really warm enough for winter. I wore mine in NYC a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't block the wind very well (arms). It was okay in 45-50 degree weather, but isn't enough for weather below 40, especially if there's any wind.
