My 13 1/2 year old daughter is getting revved up about the teen-only area on the Wonder ... question about it though ... that coffee bar that they have in the Common Grounds for Teens, is it "free" or do they have to charge it to their KTTW?

If not free, what do they offer and what does it cost????

This will help us set her daily charging limits.

Thanks.

She will be charged for smoothies and specialty drinks. I don't recall what they cost however. If she has a refillable mug, she can get soda and other regular soft drinks there without charge.

I limited my DD to 1 smoothie per day. I told her she could go to Scoops for ice cream and stuff.

She's going to have a blast!!

LOL I don't doubt for a second that she'll have a blast.

I'm actually more worried about my husband ... not dealing well with the whole concept of TEENAGE daughter on her own with other teenagers (many of which will be of the male variety) ... and Dad ain't allowed in Common Grounds ... which is gonna kill him ... I might need to take along a Valium prescription to get him through the cruise.

Not sure yet if I'm getting her the refillable soda mug ... the thought of all that free sugar & caffeine (she tends to be hyper as it is) ... ugh ... :)

If memory serves me well (LOL), I believe my DD paid $3.50 for the smoothies on our cruise in August. I'm an over protective dad myself, and we let our DD 13 hang out with the teen group. She did fine, and we had no problems with her at all. She had a blast with the teens, several nights my DW and I were already asleep before DD got back to the cabin.

That's part of what scares DH, and me thinks he'll be waiting up for her to stumble in at 1 AM. :)

Wow thats early, lol. I usually came in about 2. The prices were in fact 3.50 for a smoothie and they had Vanilla, Chocolate, Pina Colada, and Strawberry plus the Flavor of the Day (the 3 I remember were Yellow Snowcone (Lemon), Chunky Monkey (Banana), and Blue Smurph (Vanilla with Blue Food Coloring).

They also offered sodas and water for $1 a can or if you had the package you could get it for free from there. The bar closed at 11 PM each night so they have to get there before that if they want anything.

Our DD was coming in between 1 and 1:30. She didn't go every night, she really enjoyed the karoke(sp) nights. I was surprised how calm I was. I thought I would be a nervous wreck, but I wasn't. DD kept saying, "Dad, you have to trust me, you raised me right, now trust me." The first night we had to wait up for her because she had forgotten her KTTW card, after that, it was smooth sailing. No pun intended!!!

At first we set our Dd(14) curfew way too early. One night we woke up and she wasn't back, I called Common Grounds and asked that she come home and she was back within 2 minutes. Not to worry. You will have the number and can call and check anytime.

I left a light on and my DS had to turn it off when he arrived back in the cabin. That way if I woke up and the light was on, and he was supposed to be back he was in hot water. Luckily he didn't break curfew, although one night I woke up at around 2:00am, and the light was still on. I was STEAMING! I went out into the living room and there he was, laying on the bed, sound asleep. He had been so tired he just dropped into bed! LOL!

My DD, who celebrated her 14th B-day on the Magic Easter 2003 cruise, came back to the cabin no later than 2:00am during the duration of the cruise. We never worried about her or who she was with because we laid down some ground rules. She had a great time and still is in touch with many of her cruising friends.
