I thought you all might be interested in the technology that the World of Disney store was playing with in that special AP merchandise invitation event that Teresa mentioned on the show.

My husband has a huge hobby interest in the 3D object printing technology that is sweeping the world right now. We think this is what Disney is using to make a custom/personalized Disney Princess figurine. This article shows it's use in making Star Wars Stormtrooper figurines that have the customer's face.

I'm sorry, but that's beyond creepy to me. I can't imagine the average park guest spending $100s on this. :confused3

The technology is VERY cool... but... EWWW! How creepy is that?? Some of them are so real looking that it's freaks me out. DD 4 will definitely NOT be doing this at WDW!

I have to agree with the creepy assessment. The dolls in the article are waaaaaaaaaaaay creepy. The technology is very cool, but I don't think I would be able to sleep at night with one of those in my house.

:scared1: I don't think I want one of these. Creepissimus!

Not my cup-of-tea, however I think it will be very popular.

The $100.00 price tag will deter most common folk but not all.

What is the price of a car at the Ridemakerz store with bells and whistles?

Or for that matter how much do parents spend now at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a hairdo and dress that lasts at most three days.

People will pay.

If they can put their head on different toy bodies Princesses, Superhero, Pirates etc. I think they will market the heck out of this technology.

Kids and even teens will think it is cool and new enough to make this popular.

Look at the StarWars tie in the web page and tell me this won't appeal to the Sci-Fi/Comic Con geeks.

I still won't ever like to find my head on a doll. I keep thinking of the voodoo angle and won't want to tempt fate. :lmao:

I would do this if they could put my head on a great body and then give me a Gerard Butler doll to hang with.;)

Stella found the concept of her head on a doll disturbing.. me too really.

Did you tell her about Mommy and the Gerard Butler doll?
