Team Renfroe's 2nd Trip Report - 1,500 pictures, dining reviews, and DISmeets!

The dogs look great (though I'm a simple bacon, cheese and weenie girl. ok that didn't sound quite right but moving on...:rotfl:)

I love Le Cellier and glad you guys loved it too. Not just because I am Canadian either. :thumbsup2 It feels like home to me I guess and good food to boot!

the hot dogs look great!!! I like to have the chili/cheese and the Boston:thumbsup2

The Boston actually surprised me. When we were doing research on different hot dogs in different parts of the country, I was not particularly fond of the idea of the Boston having Baked Beans on it - but now that I've eaten several, I really LOVE it! Next to the Chicago, the Boston is probably my favorite city dawg.

OMG.. I am DYING for a chili cheese dog now!

GOOD!!! Maybe that'll entice you guys to swing through Alabama on your way to Florida! We've got a chili cheese with YOUR name on it!

How far from Atlanta are you? We might just have to take a trip to eat some hotdogs.

Not too far at all! In fact, we were in Douglasville today - about an hour and a half.

Really enjoyed your Hot Dog pics the original looks great I also love Le Cellier unfortunately we won't be going there this time since we are on the quick serve dining plan we leave in 18 days

Jeanine

Hi Jeanine! Thanks for the comments on the hot dawg pics. We are very excited about our upcoming adventures!

Sorry you won't be able to do Le Cellier. I've said it before and I'll say it again: for 1TS credit, it may be the best meal plan value in all of Disney World! Let us know how the Quick Service plan turns out for you!

Alan, The hot dogs look great! Your photos are wonderful. It's obvious that you are both putting a great effort into your new business venture. Wish we weren't so far away--I'd love to try one of your hot dogs!

Yes, we are definitely putting a great deal of effort into the new business venture. We want to bring ALL of our skills onto the table....and if there is one thing I CAN do, it is make pictures of food!! :rotfl2: But seriously, thanks a lot. We are very hopeful for future success in the hot dog business!

after seeing all those yummy hot dogs, I think we should all get in our cars and drive to seer new endeavor Alan (all of us within driving distance anyway)!:lmao:

Yep, sounds like a plan CK! We should be open for business in about 3 weeks or so now!

Hopefully the Chick Fil A was good. My cousin owns that one in Tifton!

No kidding! It was actually VERY good. In fact, it was very crowded when we were there. There was a children's party going on, and quite a good crowd. It would appear that your cousin is doing a great job with his staff and his product! We give it a thumbs up!

Oh, I have to comment on the hot dogs. My DD (12) is the world's biggest hot dog lover and her dream would be to open a hot dog restaurant! I think yours will do a lot better than hers would - she doesn't believe a hot dog should be served with anything other than ketchup - anything else would just "ruin" it.:rotfl: I loved that you named on after my city - Boston!

Hahahaha.....tell your DD that she may know more about the hot dog business than we do! We are excited and cautiously optimistic about this new business. I think it would be WAY COOL to make a living selling hot dogs!

Okay, WHERE is the Jersey/Coney Island dirty water dog? Jersey dogs with home fries or cheez whiz like at the windmill at the board walk!!!!! Can ya tell that I LOVE my dogs?? Can't wait for the Le Cellier review. :cool1:

Oh, we've got you covered! In fact, our "City" dogs are the Sabrett dogs that are sold on the carts in NYC. They are the same ones that are served at Gray's Papaya. Yeah, baby! We've got your home fries - we've got your cheez whiz! No stone has been left unturned!

The hots dogs looked great next time were are visiting in Oxford, we will have to try a hot dog for lunch once your business gets going.

Oh, you should definitely make a hot dog run to J'ville! We should be open in about 3 weeks. I can hardly wait!

Love the pictures of the Hot Dogs. Especially the chili cheese dog. I have been going back and reading your first trip report and I have really enjoyed it. :worship: Le Cellier looked so yummy in those pictures. I tried to get reservations but did not happen. :sad2: So instead we are going to Akershus, I am sure my daughter will love that so much better.

Thanks very much! We looked at Akershus as a possibility on this past trip, but we were not able to fit it into our schedule. On our next trip, we DO intend to include Akershus for breakfast.

Excited to see your Le Cellier report.

Also, nice hot dog pics and I love the simple names you have come up with for each one. Very simple names, but they are succinct and let you know exactly what you're getting.

Thanks very much! I'm not sure that folks in North Alabama know the difference between a Chicago Dawg and a New York Dawg, but we are about to educate them!

I'm so glad I was eating my breakfast during your last updates--hot dogs AND pretzel bread. YUM!

The pictures of the dogs really do look great, I wanted to reach through my screen and eat the chili cheese dog!!!!

Cool! Everyone seems to be enjoying the chili cheese!

Your hot dogs look YUMMMY! Makes me want to have one for breakfast!:lmao: Im a big hot dog geek I love that hot dog special they air on cable every once in a while. Love the dogs!;)

Le Cellar UGG:headache: it looks awesome we havnt been able to get in yet maybe next year! we will be eating at Coral reef this year I am very nervous about it but that was my kids second choice.

:)Looking forward to reading about the DIS meet!:thumbsup2
Nettii:goodvibes

Yeah, I love me some DAWGS also! I've ALWAYS been a hot dog junkie....so this is like a dream come true for me!

Coral Reef is very good also, especially if you are on the dining plan. We will be doing a review of Coral Reef later in this trip report.

DIS meet is on the way!

The hots dogs look delish! I am going to have to add your place to the list I have going for my future "Hot Dog Road Trip". I want to hit up all the yummy looking hot dog places around the US.

Thanks, LL! A hot dog road trip sounds like something I would do!!!

LOVE, LOVE BIG FRANK! That is absolutely great.

Can't wait to read your LeCellier review--it is our favorite Disney park restaurant.

Awww...thanks Kathy! Is he not ADORABLE? We've got another pose of him where he's doing a cartwheel! He is a cool dude in a loose mood.

thanks for the Le Cellier pics Alan! Looking forward to the rest of your review!

Le Cellier review is on the way!

I am in love with the Boston hot dog, it literally made my stomach growl. And I already ate breakfast!

That Boston dawg is SOOOO GOOOD!!! I just hope our local peeps will try it and like it!

Your hot dog mascot is really cute, and you hot dogs look great. But, I am not a hot dog eater. I don't like any kind of hot dog. I hope the people where you live love them though. I can't wait to hear how your lunch went.

Thanks very much! Lunch at Le Cellier review is on the way.

I'm Waiting patiently NOT !! :lmao:Rosie isn't patient when it comes to awesome reports in the making !!:rotfl2:
Le Cellier lost mewhen they took off the creme brulee (vanilla) from their desserts I do NOT like maple flavor !! So don't ask what I put on pancakes:lmao: Okay Rosie has a CLIFFANGER!!!!

Rosie, I KNOW you are not patiently waiting! Yes, if anyone can get away with the proverbial food cliffhanger, it is the Renfroes!!! :rotfl2:

Just wanted to come out of lurkdom and say how much I love your trip report :goodvibes Were off to CSR in October - we can't wait!

Also Love Frank - when your ready to expand you business you should open a new store in the north east of England :thumbsup2

YAY!!! Another lurker about of lurkdom! Welcome to our trip report!

North East of England, aye? Sounds like a great possibility!!

Awesome pics! Love the dawgs, dawg!;) I'd be goin for the one with the giant jalepeno on top- Ellen likes it spicy! (Obscure Seinfeld reference) Can't wait to get to the MMM!!!!:yay:

Thanks, dawg!!! ;) Yes indeed, Ellen likes it spicy! (You didn't think you would get a great Seinfeld reference by ME, did you?) LOVE Seinfeld!

My family also loves Mission Space (intense version). I also was very nervous the first time I rode. I made my DH & DS's ride first & they told me there was nothing to it. When I rode it I was like "What's the big deal"?? I do not feel the spinning at the beginning.

Pretzel bread-YUM!!! We had lunch there in May also. Could not get a dinner ressie but got lunch for our anniversary on the 25th.

Waiting the for MMM!!!!

Everyone says that dinner reservations at Le Cellier are very, very difficult! I can see why - for all the people who are on the Dining Plan, this is THE BEST use of 1 table service in ALL of Disney World, in my opinion.

Alan - when we ate at LC with the DISmoms, I'm pretty sure our server said that it is the ONLY place outside of Canada that serves Moosehead on draft!!!

And I'm seriously jonesing for a deep south dog right now!!!!! Those pics look awesome!!!

Yay for Moosehead in America!!! Woohoo!

I've got a deep south slaw dog waiting on you here in the REAL Jacksonville!!! :rotfl2:

Those hot dogs are so different to anything you find here in England, hope your business is a huge success :thumbsup2

How nice to get a good server, it can make such a difference to your meal :goodvibes

Thanks VERY much, DisneyJo! Yeah, our variety is a little different....our hope is that people will gravitate towards their favorite hot dogs and have them made just the way they did as a child!

How would you compare the intense MS version to Tower of Terror? I have never been on MS because I always sat it out with our youngest. When we go in December, I want to ride it this time. The little guy is 5 and tall enough. He rode ToT last time we were there and loved it. I love big thrill rides and have no problem on them. DH says DS can ride the intense version since he was great on ToT. What do you think??

Hmmmm.....it would not be an "apples to apples" comparison. To me, the Tower of Terror is one of the best rides in all of Disney World. Mission Space isn't as cool, but it's still a lot of fun!

For the most part, I would have to agree. I think if your DS shows an interest in riding Mission Space, he should definitely go for it!

Is your Hot Dog Restaurant going to be in Jacksonvile? My family will have to come visit when you're up and running!

YAY! Customers!!! Yep, it is going to be on the main street in Jacksonville.

Yummm, sign me up for one of each of your dawgs, and when you come out with a stuffed "Frank", let me know! I'd like to get one for each of my grandsons! Le Cellier looks great! Can't wait to eat there in sept., for the pretzel bread alone! Can't wait to see the entrees!

Le Cellier review is on the way!

OMG those dawgs look amazing... I am now drooling...... :lmao:

Loving your TR!

Yay! I was hoping those pictures would make everyone crave a good hot dog!!!!

I knew if ANYONE would love Le Cellier, it would be you, Myst!!! I don't know if I've told you or not, but I've always been a HUGE fan of all things Canadian!!! Hockey, Rush, Triumph, Bryan Adams, LaBatt's Blue, Honeymoon Suite, John Candy, Montreal Expos, Toronto Blue Jays, Moosehead, MuchMusic.....need I say more?

Last year was our first visit to Le Cellier, and we overwhelmingly decided to return for lunch again this year. That Canadian Cheese soup is just incredible!

For an appetizer, I, of course, had the Canadian Cheese Soup:

03-064.jpg

03-065.jpg

Again, I cannot say enough great things about THIS appetizer!!! SO GOOD!!!! I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night CRAVING this soup! Great stuff!

Elizabeth ordered the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage as her appetizer. Just like last year, it was OUTSTANDING!!!

03-060.jpg

03-061.jpg

Wil ordered the Seafood Salad. It was....uh....not very good. I've got to say......it was not very good AT ALL!!! I tried to help him eat it....but it just wasn't very appetizing. My advice: stick with the Cheddar Cheese Soup or the Chipotle Chicken Sausage....those are both GREAT!

03-062.jpg

03-063.jpg

Juliana had the Cheddar Cheese Soup as well. Good choice!

03-067.jpg

We were ALL excited about being back at Le Cellier again this year!

03-069.jpg

03-071.jpg

For our entrees, Elizabeth and I both had the Mushroom Filet Mignon. It was absolutely outstanding!!!

03-074.jpg

03-075.jpg

Wil had a Bacon Cheeseburger, which he enjoyed very much!

03-073.jpg

Juliana got the Cheese Pizza:

03-076.jpg

For dessert, both Wil and Juliana both decided they wanted the "chocolate mouse." They loved their moose!

03-077.jpg

Elizabeth ordered the Whiskey Chocolate Cake, which is what she ordered last year. She LOVED it!

03-078.jpg

Me, not being a big dessert person, and not being hungry from our HUGE lunch, knew better than to just order dessert! I skipped mine completely!

Overall, Le Cellier certainly did not disappoint. We had an outstanding server, and we all enjoyed the cool cellar to have lunch in. I would definitely recommed Le Cellier to any one. It was so comfortable, cool, and cozie, I could have just taken a nap right there in the dining room! Chelsey was an outstanding server and the filet was really wonderful. I would definitely give Le Cellier 2 thumbs up!

YUM YUM YUM!!! Do you think I can get that for breakfast this morning? LOVE the Moose and the filet was the best piece of meat I have ever had!!!

Oh, I am even more hungry now. :lmao: That seafood salad doesn't look very good, I couldn't even really tell what it was. I have to say Le Cellier is one of my favorite places to eat at Disney. I think it's second after Hollywood Brown Derby. :thumbsup2

Oh, I am going to miss that soup not going this year. Oldest DS is at Disney now and I was able to snag a last minute ADR at LeCellier and told him he HAD to have the soup. We'll see if he listens to his mom. ;)

Le Cellier looks SO delicious. I do not have it in my plans for my upcoming trip and now I'm regretting it. :sad2: I am a big fan of the cheese soup too and that chocolate cake = :cloud9:

Oh and glad the plans for your new restaurant are going well. I'm not a hot dog eater but all those pictures and different varieties of hot dogs look cool. I just read somewhere that one of the finalists in the Next Foodnetwork Star is opening a hot dog restaurant in LA. Sounds like you've started a new trend! :thumbsup2

Alan,

I'll come out of lurkdom too, and tell you how much I enjoy your trip reports. Quick question - what is served with the chicken chipotle sausage? It looks like greens of some kind underneath. Is there sauce or something?

Yummm!! Looks so good!!! I was looking at the menu a couple of days ago and was having a lot of trouble trying to decide on an appetizer batween the soup and the chicken/sausage. Since I'll be there during food and wine I don't know if I'll be hungry enough for either one though...lol

What really sounds good, is one of your hot dogs, yummmm.

Hi Alan,

Getting up to date!! Those Hot Dogs look really cool!! I think that the Deep South is the one more akin to the ones people like to eat here in Venezuela...

Wonderful review of The Cellier, it looks really nice and cozy, my kind of place!!. Also, nice photos of your family. The kids are growing by leaps and bounds. Wil looks a really cool kid and Juliana looks prettier in every new picture. BTW, Please tell her that I like her MS Cap a lot!!

Regards,

Luis

P.S. I think you should begin to think of having a "black list" of guests. I just saw this on CNN:
