Team Renfroe trip report with TONS of pics & reviews

Tutto Italia was a beautiful restaurant! It was one of the last reservations we made in planning for our trip. We had originally planned to go to the Hoop De Doo Review on this evening, but decided that for 2TS credits, we could get dinner at Tutto Italia AND breakfast at 'Ohana. This ended up being a great swap for my family because we greatly enjoyed both 'Ohana AND Tutto.

I cannot remember our server's name. She was friendly, but very busy. I think the service was about par - not terrific, and certainly not terrible.

The dining room was packed on this particular evening, so that is usually a good sign.

DW & I ordered the Grand Antipasto Misto for two. This platter could've been enough food for 4 adults! It was fantastic!! I would combine some of the meat with the sauces, the cheese, and other items with the fresh bread and olive oil. It was AWESOME!! (and very filling!)

DS had the calamari. It was a HUGE plate of food, and this is what was left!

DSC01124.jpg

DD ordered the fried mozzarella. I'm not sure why, but I don't think she ate any of it. Normally, I would jump in and help out...but that antipasto platter was so enormous, I was full before the entrees even arrived.

DSC01126.jpg

For an entree, DS ordered the Penne Caprese. He loves Penne Pasta, so he was very happy with his choice.

DSC01125.jpg

DW ordered the Petto Di Pollo, a roasted chicken breast with tomatoes and mozzarella with roasted potatoes. She LOVED it.

DSC01128.jpg

I had the spaghetti with veal meatballs. (I love veal, and I was in the mood for simplicity.) It was really delicious! I couldn't eat all of it though, because of being so full from the appetizer.

DSC01127.jpg

DD ordered the cheese pizza.

DSC01130.jpg

The dessert menu looked amazing:

DSC01131.jpg

DS ordered the Gelati E Sorbetti. He said that it was very sweet.

DSC01133.jpg

DW ordered the Profiterolles. She said they were amazing! (Apparently, DD agreed...she "helped" DW eat it all.)

Since there was NO WAY I could possibly eat another bite, I ordered the canoli in a "to go" box. DW loves canolis, so I figured that would make a great breakfast or late night snack for her later.

Overall, Tutto Italia was one of DW's favorite restaurants. I really enjoyed it as well....I just like some of the others better. IF you are not on the dining plan, this would be a rather expensive meal. However, if you ARE on the dining plan, this is a great value for 1TS. I would definitely go back again. In fact, if we plan another trip we are contemplating doing Epcot's World Showcase on our first day in the parks, and having Tutto Italia (or Le Cellier) for dinner.

Wow, Alan! You are really making me wish I had ventured out on reservations for our upcoming trip!

I was a little nervous about trying Y&Y and Tutto because they were both new! Next trip, I'll know!

Thanks for the reviews and the pictures!

Tutto was the last cut we made for our '08 trip, just couldn't fit it in this time.:( It will be high on our list for '09!

That Antipasta plate looks so delicious! Didn't think much of ever doing Tutto Italia until I read your review! :thumbsup2 Can't wait for more...

Wow those meals look fantastic ::yes:: , your DD's pizza look's massive, did she eat it all?. I think I'd have ordered the profiteroles also ::yes:: . Once again the photo of your DS & DD is lovely and I think that they are soooo like each other. Anyway what do you mean if we plan another trip???, I'm banking on you going again.... what am I going to read?, I've really really enjoyed reading this trip report it's sooo informative without being boring and I just love all the pics that are included :thumbsup2

Wow! Your dinner looked fantastic. I really like the choices your wife made as I am a chicken fan! Her desert looked scrumptous!!!
I must say that all through your report I have been so impressed with your sons menu choices. He is a lot braver than I would have been at his age!
Looking forward to more!
Do you have tentative dates yet on when you want to return to WDW?

popcorn:: Well, it was worth the wait!! I have Tutto Italia booked for our last night in the world (12/12). We will be celabrating my brother and neice's birthdays. We tried for Le Cellier but the earliest they could get us in was 9:05pm! We got Tutto for 6:00pm. Thanks for the great report and wonderful pictures.:) I have enjoyed taking this trip with your family.

:woohoo: Yeah! I'm so glad you liked it! I've been having second thoughts about my ADR but now I'm keeping it!! :woohoo:

For an entree, DS ordered the Penne Caprese. He loves Penne Pasta, so he was very happy with his choice.

This is exactly what I was thinking I'd order!! It looks yummy! And yes, I know what I want to eat 4 months 1 week and 2 days from now... wanna make something of it? :rotfl:

DW ordered the Petto Di Pollo, a roasted chicken breast with tomatoes and mozzarella with roasted potatoes. She LOVED it.

Hang on... this could be a contender...

I had the spaghetti with veal meatballs. (I love veal, and I was in the mood for simplicity.) It was really delicious!

:headache: This looks delicious too... how will I ever decide???

DD ordered the cheese pizza.

Argh! Even this looks delish, as Rachael Ray would say.

Since there was NO WAY I could possibly eat another bite, I ordered the canoli in a "to go" box. DW loves canolis, so I figured that would make a great breakfast or late night snack for her later.

Good plan! :thumbsup2

I would definitely go back again. In fact, if we plan another trip we are contemplating doing Epcot's World Showcase on our first day in the parks, and having Tutto Italia (or Le Cellier) for dinner.

Excuse me... IF you plan another trip??? :faint:

Loving the beautiful picture of your children sitting on the bench :cutie: :thumbsup2 .x.

Thanks, x! ;)

Thanks for the reviews and the pictures!

We were a little nervous about Y&Y and Tutto Italia also, because we had read both good and bad reviews on both. Fortunately, our experience was very positive at both.

Next trip, I hope to try some other places.

Tutto was the last cut we made for our '08 trip, just couldn't fit it in this time.:( It will be high on our list for '09!

Hi TigerKat. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did. Just be forewarned....it is a HUGE meal! If I were paying out of pocket, I would just order the antipasto appetizer platter. It was delicious!

That Antipasta plate looks so delicious! Didn't think much of ever doing Tutto Italia until I read your review! :thumbsup2 Can't wait for more...

Hi Figment's Friend! That antipasta plate WAS delicious!

Hi Karen! DD definitely didn't eat all of that pizza. Not even close.

DS & DD definitely look like alike, but their personalities are SO different! He's very independent and she is NOT!

:rotfl2: You can pretty much count on another Team Renfroe trip. DW was saying today how she wants us to go back. I honestly can't think of anywhere I'd rather go at this time in our lives. I'd MUCH rather do WDW than a cruise or anything else.

Wow! Your dinner looked fantastic. I really like the choices your wife made as I am a chicken fan! Her desert looked scrumptous!!!

DS is a lot braver than I would have been also, even though I've always been a good eater.

On going back, my choice would be to go in May again next year. I LOVED going in May! As you can see from my report, the crowds have been minimal. It was a little hotter than I expected for that time of the year, but we loved the International Flower and Garden show...and May was a good time to be on vacation as it pertains to my job. My MAY friends will tell you.... Once you go May, you'll always go May!

Wow! I didn't think my report would be that influential! Now I'm nervous! I hope your brother and niece enjoy it as much as we did.

HI Alan!!!!

It's Hedily - kind of weird actually knowing someone from the reports.

Loved your report! We leave for WDW in 8 days.

Hope to see you at homecoming this year. Say hi to everyone at the Alum House :rotfl2:

Go Gamecocks!!!!!!!!!!!

:woohoo: Yeah! I'm so glad you liked it! I've been having second thoughts about my ADR but now I'm keeping it!! :woohoo:

Hahahaha....hilarious post!! I thought you had it all figured out with the penne pasta....and now you're waivering? Don't you know exactly what you want 4 months from now? Geeesh.... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

LOVE me some Rachel Ray! Gotta love a good-looking Italian girl that not only loves to cook, but loves to EAT as well! (DW has her Gary Sinese, I have my Rachel Ray!) :rotfl2:

I guess I'm gonna have to change my IF word to WHEN!

After a fabulous and filling dinner at Tutto Italia in the Italy Pavilion, we proceeded in a clockwise fashion to experience the rest of the world showcase. Next up was Morocco.

Next was the France Pavilion:

I am a Travel Channel junkie, and I had seen the Samantha Brown special on Disney World. I just HAD to try to Orange Grand Marnier slush...it looked so good when Samantha ordered it! DW ordered the Grey Goose Lemon Citron slush.

DSC01143.jpg

DSC01144.jpg

We both LOVED our drinks, but I think mine was better. Nice call, Samantha Brown! This was a not a bad deal at all for $8. I could've had several of those orange Grand Marnier slushes!

While in France, we went to see the movie "Impressions De France." It was great, but to me not as good as the "Reflections of China" movie. However, it was nice that you could sit down during the "Impressions De France" movie.

When we got out of the movie, it was dark outside. It had started to rain, so we started going a bit faster through the England Pavilion and finally Canada.

DSC01149.jpg

(I wanted to stop by Rose & Crown to get a Bass on draft, but it was raining! That is another one of those "next time" things! One of our friends had told us about having fish & chips at the Rose & Crown and watching the fireworks from there.)

DSC01150.jpg

We had intended to stay for IllumiNations, but since it was raining slightly, and we needed to load up our vehicle for the return trip home tomorrow, we headed to the exit and took the bus back to Coronado Springs.

Tomorrow we head to Disney's Hollywood Studios and an Extra Magic Hour in the morning.

When we got back to Coronado Springs, DW & I packed up things and prepared for checking out in the morning.

The kids went to sleep for their last night at Coronado Springs! Our vacation was winding down, but we still had a full day left for Day 8!

Next installment - Day 8 at Disney's Hollywood Studios, lunch at the 50s Prime Time Cafe, and dinner at Kona Cafe.

Ourplan is to go next May also!! Our very first trip was late Aprilinto May and DD loved that time frame .My job however makes it hard to be gone on the 1st of the month I will need to wait a couple of days! But we want to avoid Easter week so May it is !! When our plans are firmed up later this year I will start a PTR!!

Do you remember if they had the family dinner at Tutto Italia? If so, could you have ordered it on the dining plan? I can't seem to get an answer about this. I call every day to get a reservation here during our next trip, nothing yet. The food looks very good.

Great update!!! Glad to hear that you liked Tutto Italia, your DW meal looked delicious!! I may have to order this. I can't believe that your report is coming to an end, I have enjoyed it so much. Can't wait to read about your last full day.

Melissa

Nice update, Alan! I feel pretty sad though because your TR is almost coming to an end! :( Oh well, to make up for it you'll just have to go on more WDW vacations! ::yes::

another great couple of days:goodvibes
sounds like you had great fun at Blizzard beach and wow those Profiterolles look fantastic just made a little note to myself to rember to order these ::yes::

True to life UK then:rotfl2:

Mmm...profiteroles...that alone would be enough for me to go there! I have heard nothing but great things about Tutto Italia and will have to try it on a future trip. And I am also going to try a grey goose slush when we go this year. I had read about the two slushes in multiple TR's before the SB special and everyone says they're yummy! It's amazing how much food advice you get on here! Helps you choose between the hundreds of options! Also, I just happened upon an Unwrapped special on Disney world on the Food Network last night. I don't think it's that recent since they called DHS MGM, but it was good if you want to learn a little about the behind-the-scenes stuff. Great update and I can't believe it's almost over!
