Team Hakuna Matata; Masters of the Holidays!

Hello again!

I did a 30 minute tempo run today. Average pace 8 minute mile, 3.75 miles total, top pace 7:20.

I'm also now like a kid waiting for Christmas waiting to find out if I got the job on Monday. It's like when you're little and you know the present is hidden somewhere in the house. No matter how much you want to be surprised, you still want to know what and where that darn present is! (At least that's the way I was) And like a kid I keep looking for hints and hoping they'll mess up and put it out early.

Thanks for all your support.

Best,
Jennifer

:wave2: TEAM!

The weather here is not great for being outside - dark & dreary - cooler, windy, and lots of rain.

Jennifer - :goodvibes

Denise - Me Too those serve in the Military hold a special place in my heart. I looked but did not see where Pease International had other locations.

Vicky - Congratulations on the weight lost! :cool1:

Scott & Lynn - Have Fun!

Connie - pixiedust: hope the shoulder is improving - I forgot when is your next check up? :upsidedow

:hippie: Are you hiding out at the GYM!

Not hiding out at the gym but Erica and I had a good walking and weights workout today.

She wasn't pleased with me when I put her on the hammy machine, I think she was having evil thoughts about stomping on me when her muscles started burning. But she was a trooper and got through it.

Good morning everyone! It's a rainy morning here in Toronto! I'm hoping it lets up by this afternoon so I can go running. I went out last night and did some speedwork at the track. I was able to run one lap slightly faster than I did last week. My fastest pace was 8:15 m/m but I don't think I would have been able to run at that speed much past that lap.

I got an e-mail last night that a few more spots opened in Toronto Women's 1/2 marathon in May so I was able to register. I had forgotten about it last month and was surprised when it was full. I asked to be put on a wait list and I guess it worked! So now I have another race after the 1/2 in January to look forward to!

Scott/Lynn - How did the party go?

Well, that's all for now! Have a great day everyone!

Vicky, Erica has signed up for that race also. TooFools, Liz is going also as well as Kim, we are trying to talk Margie into it.

I have another 12 hr shift today so no time today for exercise. I'll be back at it tomorrow though.

Have a super day team.

Good Morning team! Our “Opening of the Adventurers Club – West” party was a success. We both ran up and down stairs so many times during the evening that I think we both got our workouts in! We now have tons of food left – you know, the junk food that you always serve at a party! We will be eating Buffalo Chicken and mini soufflés for a week! On the good side, we also have a big veggie tray left!

It is very windy here today, high wind warning in effect until tomorrow sometime – currently blowing at 27mph with gusts to 47, warning is for 45-55mph winds. Our yard is getting full of tumbleweeds, I need to go push them out of the yard so they will blow to Nebraska! Don’t know if we will get outside for a walk today or not – will at least get to the workout room, need to make up for the past few days when my workouts have been housework and running up and down stairs!

Had appt with Orthopod yesterday - the diagnosis is "patellar tendonitis" - the cure is knee braces and strengthening and stretching exercises - I have an appt with a Physical Therapist next Thursday for those exercises.

Jennifer – pixiedust: for good news on Monday!

Vicki – congrats on the weight loss!

Have a great day everyone!

Lynn - I think the hors d'oeuvres the best part of any party!

Jenn - Good luck for Monday!!

Vicky, Erica has signed up for that race also. TooFools, Liz is going also as well as Kim, we are trying to talk Margie into it.

That's awesome!! We can have a mini DIS meet! The only thing I was worried about is that some of the paths are on the narrow side because they go through a ravine. Can't wait to see what the finisher's item is :yay:

Margie - You have to join the party in May!!

I did 3 miles in 25:30 for an 8:30 pace.

My friends joke that I'm like a greyhound when I'm stressed. If they let me, I'd just keep running. It's cold and grey in Massachusetts today, so I plan on going to Starbucks and curling up with a good book this afternoon.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes! I'll be sure to let you know when I find out on Monday.

Best,
Jennifer

:wave2: TEAM!

Vicky, Nope I will not make it this year. The registration is now closed, so there is No Way I can join the party in May - and it looked like it was a couples things and the guys are planning to Pamper Their princess: Sooooooooo

:hippie: Sounds like you and your princess: had a nice workout at the Gym!
I went this morning for 17 miles on the bike. Hagen just left so now I need to go back to do some weights. It is harder to do after a long day and you are tired. :upsidedow

Our gas prices have started back up today they are $2.05-$2.06 - wondered earlier if this had any connections with the elections? Why I cannot imagine but...:confused3

Looks like our weather is going to be chilly with lots of rain and/or snow until next Monday.

Good Morning Team!

Really ugly here today – got about 2-4 inches of snow overnight, and it is windy – my wind gauge has frozen, but weather guy says 25mph wind with gusts to 45mph! The wind chill index is 6 degrees. High today will be 33 degrees. We have some good drifts in the backyard. The dogs would not go outside this morning, they have finally braved the wind and are outside now (probably wanting to come back in – be back in a minute).

Scott is still out of town, decided to stay overnight and finish up this morning, hoping that he will not have to go back there next week. He was planning to be back in Cheyenne around noon, but weather might delay him a bit.

Today, I plan to spend some time in the workout room, getting to Lisa’s leg program, Pilates, and maybe even a few miles on the treadmill.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi EVERYBODY!

My this month is rolling out quickly! Do you all realize that the "Team" ends next month? I thinK I am already in mourning.

Jennifer, sure hope that job comes through.

Lynn, doesn't it feel colder when your DH is away? I know it always seems so with me.

Dave, Miss your upbeat personality! All work and no play is dull and boring and makes life ruff. :guilty:

I am training, haphazardly. I am starting from scratch or very nearly it, with all the time I have been off, but that just means; I get to start from scratch a better person! :thumbsup2 Right?

Stay warm! -- Love Connie

Just stopping in quickly to wish everyone a great weekend! I went out last night for a 3 mile run. I did it slower than normal but still finished the run :) The weather forecast is calling for heavy rain all day Saturday so I'll probably do my LR on Sunday. I wonder if running in heavy rain will make me run faster! :rotfl:

Connie the teams don't have to end I'm going to do a discussion post next month about that. I'm thinking keeping the teams but getting rid of logging miles and hours, then if someone disappears for a while it won't matter, they can come back after their LTO issues and not hurt the team standings. Just my current thoughts.

Connie thank you for the blog subject. I hope I did justice to it. I even did a WISH Panda post about it for discussion, so you could give some Connie wisdom.

Everyone Hi.

I did a good walk, 3 miles of fartlack followed by a good weight training routine, and of course stretching.

Team Panda:hippie:

Made it back to Cheyenne, will have to put some time in this weekend, cold and windy here.

Brain is fried,

Be good, have a great weekend.

:wave2: TEAM!

Anyone on our TEAM racing this weekend?

Scott & Lynn - I love the snow but I am just not ready for it yet - wonder if that make a difference :confused3 Still raining but they say snow by Sunday.

:hippie: What Connie said!

Went back to the gym tonight for an upper body workout - Now I am really tired. :upsidedow

Connie will PM you our times & miles as soon as I post this...hope your day was okay, pain down, and range of movement is improving!
:flower3:

Hey Kids,

Cold here this morn 16 and no wind, long day yesterday and I am trying to decide when to go in and get some work done this weekend. I enjoy mornings with Lynn so maybe later. Got reports etc to get ready for next week. Looks like travel next week, might be gone three days or so, we will see. Will take work our gear for sure.

If it warms up later today will get our for a run in the sun. Will see if Lynn wants to do some weights today. we also might set up our Wii, I know I will feel like a total klutz.

Good monring!

Scott, there's no way you could be a klutz! Glad to see you made it home safely!

Jennifer, Greyhounds are really cool dogs.

Just hanging out today, so far. We'll see what the day brings!

Good morning team.

I have another 12 hr shift today so it's a rest day, I've been doing an everyother day exercise schedule to work around those 12 hr days. Scott I know the long days are a regular part of your schedule and I salute you for staying at it with all the long hours.

Connie, enjoy hanging out today, sounds like a good plan for a winter day. I thought it was still fall but starting to look wintery here.

Everyone have an awesome day and stay out of trouble.
