Team Hakuna Matata; Masters of the Holidays!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Denise the quilt is beautiful, but the quilter....is drop dead gorgeous!

Dave, I am beginning to recover from the flu or whatever weird virus that was that my DH brought home to me! It wasn't very nice of him, but at tleast he didn't bring a puppy!

Margie, are you gonna be ready for Marathon weekend? I am cheering for you and your ankle!

Jennifer, still wishing you all the best on that interview!

I concur on Denise being one of our success stories.

Glad you are over your cold Connie, I to have survived mine. Maybe we can both come back stronger than ever. You will certainly heal faster now that your body can concentrate on the shoulder instead of Flu fighting.

Have a super weekdend y'all.

:wave2: TEAM!

Sending out the pixiedust: for all who are injured and/or ill - Connie, :hippie:

A new puppy - :tilt:

Connie, once I am registered it would have to be life threatening to keep me from at least starting a race - pain & hopefully common sense would make me stop - I am on for WDW. :upsidedow

It is 36 degrees, windy, brisk, cloudy, spitting moisture - great day for a walk. I was able to do a nice 4.3 miles. I limped a bit but no serious pain. Now my ankle is taking me off to enjoy a nice soak. :goodvibes

 Connie, Dave, Erica, Denise, Diane, Eva, Jennifer, Jen, Kathy, Kim, Scott, Lynn, Sue, and Vicky.

Good day,
Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I was working midnight to 8:00 for the last week, and I'M always on survivor mode during that week. All I do is work, try to sleep during the day, a walk with the dogs and a short run.
Today I went for a run and it was 16C (62F I think) in November?? In Quebec?? And they are talking about "réchauffement de la planète" (i don't know how to say this in english but it is something like the planet is heating up).
Well I am off work for the next 2 weeks and we are going to Freeport, Maine to do a lot of shopping at LL Bean and then 2 days in west Springfield, Ma for the Equine Affaire where I guess we will also do a lot of shopping.
Have a nice week-end
Diane

OK...so I have something to admit. Ive been absent for more than one reason the last couple of months. I've been highly distracted because I'm planning my wedding! Normally I don't like the attention that something like that brings, so I don't talk about it. But now that it's getting closer I'm too excited not to let the beans spill!. Anywho...we are getting married on New Years, and the race will be our makeshift honeymoon since we will be delaying our Europe trip til next year due to finances. Weddings are expensive, no matter how cheap you try to make them! :bride:

Question for my team. My mom has offered to pay for our hotel as a wedding present, and she said we can pick ANY hotel. Sooo....what deluxe do you guys recommend for the marathon and why?

Margie - Our gas prices have been $1.95 for the last week! I pray that a miracle will happen and they stay that way!!

Dave - Sorry to hear about the cold. I have one myself. No fun.

Denise - I find it hard to resist treats this time of year especially. It's natures way to bulk up for the cold weather...that's my excuse anyways!! You look great btw!!

To the rest...hope you are keeping warm and taking a multivitamin!!

Hi Eva congratulations.

We like staying at the Boardwalk since we can walk to Epcot and walk home after the fireworks in the evening or relax at the Big River Brewery for a beer before bed. From there we can also walk to the Studios or take the Monarail to Magic Kingdom. We only have to fool with busses for the Animal Kingdom. In addition we can walk back to our room from the marathon finish.

A friend sent me this in the mail, I thought it was quite thought provoking:

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'

She got it off Paul Harvey's site.

Have a wonderful Sunday y'all.

Dave, What a wonderful prayer. I am not a terribly religious person but I do pray. At least to my mom for help and she always comes through for me.

Eva, We too are staying at the BW as I have enough points for us - using DVC and it's our home resort. The downside is that we can't walk over to the start line, we still have to take the bus to Epcot in the wee hours of the morning. We can walk back but after the 1/2 we enjoy the seat back to the BW.

My alternative would be a monorail resort, GF, Poly,or the Cont. Hop on to the start and then hop back on after your done.

Good luck with the wedding plans. Let me know if you have questions, we can certainly help having just lived through it.

Connie and everyone thanks for the continued good luck wishes! I'll know soon enough and hopefully it will be good news! With one week left before I hear the decision I find myself obsessing over it. Either way I know it will turnout the way it was meant to.

Dave- I love Billy Graham! What a thought provoking man he was.

As for me- I did 5 miles in just under 43 minutes so roughly an 8:30 pace. Now I just have to finish my draft of my term paper!

:wave2: Good Morning, TEAM!

My...it is already 8:am and no one is around :confused3

:hippie: Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation ... AMEN
Glad to hear you are felling better :flower3:

pixiedust: Connie!

Long Day Yesterday but did get home by 8:pm to garf down dinner before falling into bed :goodvibes

Woke this morning knowing my ankle was WAY better...better range of motion, swelling is almost gone, and more discomfort rather than real pain :upsidedow

Good Morning team!

I did 6 miles yesterday afternoon on a beautiful New England fall day. I generally take Monday off and today is no exception.

After the walk and shower I made dinner. By the time I was eating it I was ready to take a nap. I guess the glass of wine cooler afterwards didn’t help my cause but it sure tasted good.:rolleyes1 I noticed a big change once the food kicked in. You know that whole fuel thing.

We are experiencing some great fall weather, temps and sunshine. We do love the higher temps so we can avoid using our oil till it gets REALLY cold.

Hope all of you have a great day, enjoy the sunshine if you have it but if not, just the fresh air will make you feel better.

Denise your walk sounded like my blog entry for this morning. Great minds and all that.:)

We are having a cold morning for a change, last week we had almost 80 degrees everyday but this morning it's 25 degrees. So Erica and I are off soon for the gym for some treadmill and weights.

Everyone have an awesome day.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Congrats Eva, KEWL!!!!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I ran a total of 10.5 miles - 7 miles on Saturday and 3.5 on Sunday. Weather was cool but not too windy. Both days I passed by runners that I'd see later in my route. That was kind of fun! Tonight, I'm off for my training session! I'm hoping to get a massage booked sometime this month too. I think I read somewhere that massages are good for preventing injuries since they help to relax the muscles ...

Denise - A lot of our vendors bring in sweets for us. I find them hard to resist too, especially when they insist on everyone taking one pastry/goody. If it's a Friday, I usually eat it otherwise it just sits on my desk (I'll usually put something in front it so I can't see it).

Eva - Congrats on your wedding!!! If I had to pick a deluxe for the marathon, I would go with the Poly since it's on the monorail line. I've heard it's more convenient but never having been to marathon weekend, I can't say for sure. I believe there are a couple other WISH'ers staying there - Tracey and Stacie... me! *lol*

Connie - Hope you're feeling better! The flu's no fun :(

Margie - I think it's awesome that you managed to get in so many miles on your ankle. I'm glad to hear it's doing better though!

Dave - That's a wonderful prayer!

Scott/Lynn - Have a safe drive home :)

Have a great day everyone!

Today I made a brave move. The halloween candy dish sits at my desk, since I"m the receptionist. I moved it to the end of the counter - out of eye contact and reach.

Of course I did grab a butterfinger before I moved it but it's a start!:rotfl2:

Good for you Denise, the butterfinger was your reward for being strong.

Sorry a little Late, but,

THANKS to All the Veterans

Sorry a little Late, but,

THANKS to All the Veterans

Some time ago I saw a story on our local TV station about volunteers who greet soldiers either leaving the country or coming home and land at Pease Air Force Base here in NH. Some are coming from IRAQ, some Afganistan etc. We have volunteers who at times very short notice, become a welcoming committee to these brave men and women. The are greeted with cheers, applause and american food. It was a very heartwarming story and I saw another story again today as Veterans Day was upon us this week.

Here is a link to the group. I live an hour away from Portsmouth where this takes place but I sure would love to be part of that group some time. The do it even in emergency landings with a moments notice. God love them!

Morning Kids, Lots o House work yesterday and the place looks pretty darn good.

Did 3 miles on the TM this morn, and them some weights.

Party tonight, better do some work today LOL...

Good Morning team! Finally got caught up after being AWOL for several days!

Eva – Congratulations!!! If money were no object, I would go for the concierge level of Animal Kingdom Lodge (because I love the AKL), or Poly (they have a great concierge level also), then there is always the Grand Floridian which is also a very nice hotel, or was many years ago when we stayed there.

Tonight is Scott’s “Grand Opening of the Adventurers Club – West” party, we spent all day yesterday finishing up the basement, hanging all the artwork, cleaning, cleaning the rest of the house. There are still a few things I need to get done today, also have an appt with Orthopod today for my knees. We did have a good visit with Scott’s parents in Missouri over the weekend. Ate way too much, and came back stocked with squash, apples, canned beans, canned tomatoes.

Did not get out yesterday for any walks, and it was a decent day, but did get a workout in with vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, running up and down stairs, etc, while cleaning the house! I do not know if I can squeak in a workout today, but will at least do the leg workout, but dogs could use a walk, they might not be so dinghy tonight if they have a walk today, so may get out in spite of the wind! It is not too bad right now, but will be picking up throughout the day.

A big Hi! to all that I missed! Have a great day!

Just a quick drive by today - I went to see my PT on Monday and we had a tough workout! Did a lot of squats with weights. My thighs and arms are still sore today! I weighed myself last night and I'm down 3.3 pounds since the beginning of the month! Yay!! I'm hoping to keep losing pounds or inches (or both) until January. I'm out tonight with DF for a run, it will probably be about 3 miles since I'm doing interval training.

Scott/Lynn - Have fun with your party tonight!

Take care everyone!
