Isn't that why you have brothers? :rolleyes1

 Well Alek doesn't live with us so he wouldn't help anyways and Erich will be at work. I would wait for him to get home this afternoon but if I do that the snow plow will come by and make the job even more difficult. :headache:

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, Lessa, we got a bunch of snow too! Only 5-6 inches but they didn't cancel school! That makes me so angry. I wish they'd consider how difficult it is to GET to school when you don't ride a bus. Oh well. Poor SD has the task of "shoveller" here. He's a big kid now. Gus LOVES to shovel, but unfortunately it's usually done for him before he gets out there.

I hope your hubby gets to see his mom today, Jodi. Ice is scary. I hate for Bob to drive in it too.

Angela, that is so sad about your friend. I will say a little prayer. :lovestruc

I haven't heard from Mo, and I texted her last week. Maybe we need to actually CALL her??? I will try an email this morning. She might just be busy at work. :confused3

NO COW BELL. I don't like cow bell. Blech. (And BTW, that guy freaks me out, in Carrie's picture)

*************************************
Today I plan on staying home! It's too snowy and cold to leave the house. I am going to bake more cookies, wrap presents and box up what needs shipping. I hope to mail them this afternoon before I pick up SD from Military History Club.
Bob's working from home, in my scrapbooking room again. That's good though, as he'll be out of the way!

Oh, I will post the cookie recipes later today. And I have to work on my Mini-Fockerfest TR....Finally!!!

Hope you guys have a great day. I'll be calling my sis this morning so I'll pop back in and let you know what she says.

MEL:banana:

Forgot to say...I got my GORGEOUS ornament today!

100_2213.jpg

Katt... Thanks doll!

THANK GOODNESS.. I was beginning to think the postal Service had lost it and my SS gift. Sorry it was not "blue" I tried to find a Blue one for your tree. and I was missing an Ingredient( THAT I LOANED TO SOMEONE:headache: :headache: :headache: ) to make you a special one...

AND IT DOES NOT LOOK BROKEN

Good Morning All! We have lots of that white stuff too !! But DSIL had better do the shovelling!!The kids will prolly help , they usually do!!

Wanted to post a quick update on the MIL. FIL called late last night after seeing the neurologist. Nothing is broken, so that's good. I guess the vertabrae are just twisted, so they're going to put her in traction for a day to see if that helps straighten her neck out. She's in a lot of pain, but that's to be expected.

Also, DH talked to his dad and I guess they were rear-ended. The accident was the other person's fault, so hopefully his/her insurance will cover the majority of the medical and car repair costs. I was glad to hear it wasn't their fault, as they are getting up there in age. My FIL has always been a safe driver when I've been with him. A little too safe at times, if you know what I mean....

Today is going to be one of those days, I can tell already. DD4 woke up at 3:00 am and started throwing up. She's continued to throw up through the night. So, no school for her today. DD7's school is on a two hour delay, so the bus won't come until 10:30 am. Today was supposed to be a special program where a parent comes in to help the child build a gingerbread house out of graham crackers, frosting and various candies. The class was also going to put on a play, in which my DD7 had the lead role. This all has now been moved to tomorrow, which in itself is not a problem other than we're not allowed to bring siblings and now I have to find a sitter for DD4. Most of my friends also have second graders, so they're in the same boat. I'm going to have to call around today. It's not like I can use the inlaws! And I just hope she's feeling better by then or I won't be able to leave her with anyone.

I just ran out to the curb to take the trash dumpster out there as I heard the truck rounding the curve. The roads and my driveway are covered with a sheet of ice. How fun! I'm sure the main roads are okay, but our subdivision streets are pretty bad. Hopefully the town will get some salt out there and the sun will come out this morning to help melt some stuff. And, of course, we've got another round of snow/freezing rain coming tomorrow night... just in time for the last day of school before break on Friday (and the holiday parties!). :sad2:

Why has no one volunteered for the most important instrument?:confused3

What we need is more COW BELL!!!!
mad0137.gif
No... NO COWBELL... not even for the Drum Cadence as we enter WDW

Now, now.... let's not start that again.... :rotfl2: :rotfl:

DD4 woke up at 3:00 am and started throwing up. She's continued to throw up through the night.
Poor thing, hope you manage to find a sitter for tomorrow!

Darn that Jo for stealing my spot of the Mom's Board:rolleyes1
Did I tell you that I was only up against UK people so unless you're secretly British I didn't steal your spot :p :rotfl2:

All pressies are wrapped :yay: Even Jessica's new golf club and that was very tricky, can't put that one under the tree though as I think she'll guess what it is :rotfl2:

School writing, work writing or TR writing????
Work. Lots to do before I take some vacation time.

V.. If I had you HIGH ENOUGH UP... I THINK you have enough common sense to correct some things...
Thanks Katt, but I think I also have enough common sense NOT to want to be higher-up, lol!

Quick update on the kids. DD11 is feeling much better. DS6 has no more sore throat, and has had a normal temp the last few times I've checked. Seems like we are on the mend.:thumbsup2
Yay!
I posted this over on the DVC board, but I wanted to get the views of my preferred DVC experts over here. :goodvibes
:thumbsup2 I think you're on the right track! Form my experience, you definitely want a buffer on points usage per year, so 280 sounds perfect for your needs. And I really like the idea of breaking it up into a couple contracts.

For what? :confused3
Work, see above!

Evan's preschool performance was so flippin' adorable! 28 four year old singing Christmas Carols! :goodvibes
Aw, I bet it was great! :goodvibes

Jo in answer to what do parents who both work do on snow days , well they either find a sitter or call in sick or whatever !! No choice !!
Yep. Hence me using vacation/sick time for Leo's pinkeye while the rest of my office had a freaking PARTY.

Not that I'm still bitter.

 again.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Well, Leo's mood hasn't improved all week, which is dragging me way down; he goes to his dad's after school Fri. and I won't see him again until 11am Xmas day. Why can't the days before he goes away be better? :sad1:

I'm wrapping up my final school projects for the semester and I'll be glad to have them DONE.

And, since I need to postpone school for a year, I think I might try - GASP! - dating again. Ugh, is it bad that I'm dreading the prospect?!

oooh! Jen's getting a sex change after Christmas, so possibly you could date her/him. :rotfl2:

I will post all three. These are DEAR to my heart, people, just like you! I make them EVERY year. I am known for the gingersnaps....people start asking for them at Halloween!
Enjoy. And know that if I could afford to, I'd make them and ship them to you all!
The first is for Sorgum cookies. My neighbor in Peoria was a girl named Karen Osuga. She made these for me when I had SD. Haven't seen her since 1993! But her cookies are LEGENDARY. I always give her credit. That's only right, I think
The second are my friend Dana's cookies. She's famous around here for them. But, she's moved off to LA and now I don't see her. When I eat them though, it's like she's still here!
The last is a recipe from that same apartment building in Peoria. This young lady, Michelle Graves, lived on the 1st floor. She'd see me when I wen to the laundry room (down 3 flights with a baby and laundry, and over 2 buildings!) and she was always baking stuff. She gave me cookies on my way by once, and one time banana bread. Both were amazing and I begged the recipes. No one disagrees, it's the best banana bread recipe I've ever had! Haven't seen her since 1993 either but I love her recipes!

Mornin', all...

Jodi, glad the MIL and FIL are doing OK. But I'm sorry about DD4...

V, I'm sorry that you've had a rough week.

Angela, gorgeous pictures!

Janet, woohooty for Jimmy!

Hi, everyone!

It's snowing away this morning. We've not had a lot of accumulation, but it's more than we've had yet this year.

The neighboring town has decided to cancel school the rest of the week, so I'm a little scared. The paper this morning reports that my town still has about 4,000 houses without power. We are scheduled to be in school through next Tuesday, though, so even if we cancel this week, we should have a couple of days next week...

We've done nothing to organize the school party, since we've not had school, I've not gotten but one bit of money for the group present for the teacher... Sigh.

But I did get the other teacher's stuff yesterday, along with a neighborhood swap gift, something extra for my mom and grandma, etc. So, we're getting there...

I wound up buying skis yesterday when we went to get the boys' and D's, which will be much easier when we do go, but that is definitely it for our household - no other presents between D, the boys, and me.

D was going to go to work, but the roads are iffy. The porch guy is coming today at 2:00, supposedly.

I need to get moving. I put a "ropa vieja" in the crock pot this morning, but then haven't done much of anything since. I'll let you know how it turns out - it looks good in the picture and smells fantastic now. :thumbsup2

See you all later! Hope everyone has a good day!
