You guys are cracking me up with all this band talk!

My brother and I were both very involved in high school marching and his son started playing in the pit last fall at his school. My brother became a pit crew dad! It was hilarious to think about that!
So, I got an interesting phone call about 5:00 this afternoon. An ER nurse called to tell me that my MIL is there. And my FIL was taken to the ER at the heart hospital next door to the regular hospital after they were involved in a car accident. She said that they were both okay (alert and talking, etc.) but were being given a whole work up due to complaints about neck and back pain. Not sure why they took my FIL to the heart hospital other than the fact that he had a quadruple bypass two years ago.
The phone just rang again while I was typing this message and it was the nurse again. My FIL is fine and good to go home. They're actually taking him to the hospital where my MIL is right now. But my MIL is being taken to Methodist Hospital, which is a level one trauma center. It's the hospital where the drivers who get in crashes at the Indy 500 are sent. She said that her first and second vertabrae are rotated and she needs to see a neurological specialist there. She'll be admitted after going first to the ER there.
On top of this, DH is taking his final exam tonight for his anatomy class for medic school. He did talk to the nurse the first time she called and I told him that I would take care of things, if something was needed before he was done with the test.
I don't want to bother him during his test, so I think I'm just going to wait until he calls here during a break or after he's done to let him know what's going on. I don't want to cause him to lose concentration on his test, kwim?
Then, we'll have to figure out how to get the car back later. Eric talked to the towing company and the guy there said that the airbags didn't go off and that he didn't see any damage to the car???

Don't quite understand that one. Of course, it will be at least tomorrow afternoon before we can get the car.
So, my dreams of an uneventful stressless evening are gone out the window....
