Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Well, we now have a new kitten.
We had an incident in which we thought we had lost her but she was curled up hiding in a warm spot trying to get away from it all. Can you blame her?

Awww - I know two families who recently got new kitties - and both of them the same thing happened - they thought they were lost, but were found hiding! :)

The ex-h called this afternoon and let me know about Christmas. He apparently has training with the National Guard until the 20th (he's supposed to get them from 12/18-25) and will then try to get the kids for a few days after that. He said he'll have them back to me by the evening of 12/24, if not maybe a little sooner. At least I know of some sort of plan and the kiddos will be with me for my birthday on 12/20.

That's great! :banana:

Bored, bored, bored. I am tired and bored and that is a deadly combo!

It is driving me crazy sitting here thinking I could be at home wrapping, but I don't want to use any of my vacation time that I have left.

I know what you mean! When I am bored at work it drives me nuts thinking of all I could be doing at home! I'm never bored at home:laughing:

We have some sad news...

That is sad news :hug: to Camryn. I know it's tough on the kids when things like that happen:hug::hug:

Tomorrow is our 7 year anniversary so we are gonna relax today and stay away from the freezing cold and just go out tomorrow.

Today would have been my Mom's birthday. I'm ok, just remembering her today. It does get easier.

Congratulations on your anniversary!::love: :hug: to you about your mom - I'm glad you can think happy thoughts of her.

Hello Fockers!!!

We made it back with no problems. We had a terrific time.

Glad you had fun! Hope you can share some photos popcorn::

Hey guys! I went to see "The Princess and the Frog" last night. It was excellent! I really liked it and it also had its moments where it was reminiscent of classics like "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast". There was a lot of adult humour in it as well so don't worry both kids and adults will enjoy it. Definitely go see it!

It's been getting great reviews. Too girly for Jimmy?:confused3

Well, I'm glad it's getting great reviews and there is adult humor - my HUSBAND is insisting we go see it - in the theater :rotfl2::rotfl2: I told him I think they might show it on the cruise in January, so I'm hoping we can get out of going before then :rolleyes:

OMG, yesterday got crazed. Woke up a little late, then D noticed he had an e-mail from amazon.com that for whatever reason, his debit card wasn't going through for something we were trying to get for Buzz. He tried again, thinking it might have just been one of those weird glitches, but then it still didn't go.

So, he called our bank whilst I checked our account. The account was fine (and had money) but the guy on the phone mentioned a $100 charge at a Walmart in Glendale, AZ. :sad2: I did see it online, it had gone through, but there was nothing else pending or through that was not ours. The bank guy said the card was closed, but wouldn't tell us how that happened. :headache:

That is so frustrating:headache: I mean, it's good in case there was theft, but also a real pain! Last weekend, my husband went to buy a new flat screen tv and I told him to put it on our Lukoil card. We typically only use that card for our gasoline, and we let Ariel use it occasionally for other items. As soon as he made the purchase, I got a phone call (recorded message) from the fraud department said they thought the card had been used fraudulently and there would be a hold placed on the card until we called and authorized the charge :scared1: I knew he was going to purchase a couple of other things with it that day, so I quick called them. I guess because it was "out of the ordinary", it got flagged. Luckily I caught it before he got "declined" :rotfl2:

It's called Shalimar, ever heard of it? My mother wanted me to pick it up and she would pay for it, but I am going to wrap it as part of her Christmas gift:thumbsup2

Absolutely! Good idea :thumbsup2

Once I get the perfume and a Hess gift card for my dad, I can pack their stuff and get it shipped to them this week so it is there in time for Christmas AND to drive my father crazy...he likes to shake boxes:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Such a good daughter :rotfl2:
---------------------

Happy Sunday everyone! Carppy weather here today in Philly. But I'm not sticking my nose out the door today! We went to the Christmas Carol show on Friday night and it was a lot of fun. Then, I got up at 5:30 AM!:scared1: yesterday to attend my uncle's mom's funeral (would that make her my great-aunt, I'm not sure???:confused3). It was really very nice, as funerals go. And, it was nice to spend some time with some my family I don't get to see very much. Isn't it a shame, that you only see some folks at weddings and funerals (and there aren't a lot of weddings happening in my family any time soon). The food at the lunch was absolutely dreadful, but the company was good! I was wiped out by the time I got home, so not much got done yesterday! Today, I've made 8 pans of shortbread, and I got some gifts wrapped. We 're having my husband's birthday dinner today and he's request chicken marsala and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. So, the dessert's done and I'm starting on the chicken now. Kids should be here soon, so I'll say goodbye for now!

Kids should be here soon, so I'll say goodbye for now!

Sounds yummy - and like a busy weekend. That would be your great-aunt. I'm glad you got some family time, even if it's not for a good reason. I know exactly what you mean.

Hello All. Just a drive by on my way to shower and bed. Been a long few dasy, but god ones.

We went out for the anniv last night. We tried one place we really wanted to eat at, but they had no spots open so we walked to a new place, a Thai spot. It was a kinda ultra modern decor wise but the food was great. I got a nice glass of reisling and KC had some weird martini type thing. We had calamari for an app, KC had duck and I had salmon. SO good. Then we went to see the Princess and the Frog. GREAT MOVIE!!!! We both enjoyed it so much! We got home really late but it was a ton of fun.

I am embarking on another long work week. I truly cant wait until i get a normal job where i am not dreading going to work because of my back. Oh and to add insult to injury (pun intended) i got my letter in the mail from disability saying they denied my 2nd appeal. Ironic, no?

Anyways hope you all had a great weekend!

Glad you had a good weekend! I love Thai food. :thumbsup2

Well, the roads are not lovely, but they didn't delay us for school (the neighboring town, where my friend lives, did - but they were nearly the only ones around here.) I have tennis drills later, but that's about it. D had to get up at 3:00 to go fly, and I only slept sporadically after he got up, so I may nap for an hour or so... :thumbsup2 D's back after dinner, so it looks like a pretty easy day for us. ;)

See you later - I'll be in and out!

It's Monday. Jimmy has an OT appointment today so I will be leaving at 3:00 to pick him up and then meet Jim at the appointment. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Jimmy has half days for report card conferences. Our conference with his teacher is Thursday at 4:35. The Cub Scouts are caroling on Friday at an assisted living place so I will be going to video tape that. Saturday I have a dentist appointment, a haircut appointment, and then we will baking cookies and helping my SIL wrap her gifts. Sunday I will pass out:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a lovely day.:goodvibes

Morning! Can't stay long, but wanted to report that Leo and I met Jo and family at the MK yesterday and had a great time visiting! :goodvibes

Nothing else new to report on my end; I'm just trying to wake up more and get some work done. :surfweb: Happy Monday all!

Hi all! :wave2: Glad to be back home, but the weekend was informative. Now we have to do all the fun things like a will, power of attorney and living will. I know we should have had all that done prior to now, but it's a good excuse to have them done.

That would be your great-aunt. I'm glad you got some family time, even if it's not for a good reason. I know exactly what you mean.

That's what I thought - thanks for confirming!:)

Glad you had a nice evening (I love Thai food too!) And, glad for another :thumbsup2 on the Princess and the Frog!

That's great that they called you right away, but what would have happened if no one was home:eek:

There would have been one mad husband!!:rotfl2:

Wasn't yesterday just awful!:sad2:

It sure was - and THIS morning, I slipped and fell on black ice on my driveway :scared1: - ironically with a can of salt in my hand to put on the ice on the sidewalk:headache:

Evening all. Left work at 3:00 and took Jimmy to his OT appointment. GOt home about an hur ago, finished up Jimmy's homework, and now he watching Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too on ABC Family before heading up for bath and bed. He had left over pizza for dinner. Jim and I had beef pot pie that Jim made out of loft over beef stew:thumbsup2

Tomorrow is his medication check appointment, that was supposed to be on Wednesday. Jim is going to pick him up and take him to that, bring him home, and then head out shopping. He keeps asking me what I want, but I have no ideas:confused3

Hope everyone is having a good evening!:goodvibes

Hey Peeps! :wave2:

'Member me? :blush: I feel like such a stranger over here!:laughing: It's been a busy week, as always. I'm hoping once school's out for winter things will slow down. :rolleyes:

My Brownie's had their first overnight trip this weekend. That was fun. NOT! The facility had NO heat, but it did have a fireplace. I was up every few hours loading that thing with logs to keep us from freezing. There was a huge storm that night and pretty cold temps. Needless to say, I'm done with that shizzle. Bleh, I can't imagine camping "for real". :eek: Ugh.

Everything's done for the holidays, except for the baking which I'll do next week when the kids are off school. Oh and I have to get the Holiday parties for both kids classrooms organized for Friday. Happy, happy, joy, joy. The light at the end of my tunnel is in 15 fuzzy days (23 real days)!!! :woohoo:

Hope everything is going well for everyone! I miss chatting, but I keep up with you all on FB! ;)

Peace! :hippie:

Hey, all! I've been reading along all day, but just not quoting. Angela, I picked up Quicken's will software (also has the living wills, DNR forms, etc.) and it's pretty easy to do, if that helps. ;)

The kids got home from school, did their homework, then we finally brought up and decorated their little tree in their room. Then dinner, showers, a show and a book, and they're tucked up in bed. D's not back yet.

I'm in the school tomorrow morning for height/weight and vision screening. I hope the school nurse is actually there tomorrow (anyone remember my story from last year? :rotfl:) but it should be easy enough. Then, I think the grocery store will be necessary. Exciting stuff! :rotfl2:

Samantha's Spanish project was to make a pinata (sp) She has been working on it for over a week !! It looked like an egg so she made it a Easter pinata!!It s red and pink so I told her to tell them it's a double holiday pinata !!!:rotfl2:

Oh I am jealous !!! I can't wait to meet Jo!!! Almost did in September !!!
You two have never met?! You really must; we're counting on you to determine whether or not she really is British. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Good to know - I really need to update mine, too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning! It's allergy day for me; my entire face itches and I'm sneezy. Fun. :headache:
Other than that, things are fine here. Leo's teacher informed them yesterday that there will be NO homework this week... he's deliriously excited, lol! Xmas shopping is done; I just have a couple things to wrap. Work... carries on. ;)
One new thing, if you haven't already heard from me on my TR, FB or Twitter... I've begun writing regularly! I don't want to call it a "blog" because I'm not using it for spur-of-the-moment thoughts, but for fully-prepared articles. I'm hoping to build a decent portfolio and actually do something with it. So come on over if you haven't yet, and by all means tell a friend, too! :) http://vpanz.blogspot.com
He keeps asking me what I want, but I have no ideas:confused3
I'm getting one of those Clarasonic face cleaners on QVC. Yes, I am old.
I did send it to my sister since Reid will be 7 years of age any time now. :thumbsup2
I have all my gifts on the table to be wrapped and then I stopped. Haven't done cards yet either. Maybe you'll all get Valentine's. :lovestruc
I'm with you about real camping! :rotfl:
Me too! That's why Jim is the Den leader for Cub Scouts:lmao:
That's good to know since the military will do one for us, but who knows when? :rolleyes:
Well, you know the military motto - HUrry up and wait:rolleyes1
I did send it to my sister since Reid will be 7 years of age any time now. :thumbsup2
I forgot to say if I have your address from last year your cards got mailed out on Saturday:thumbsup2 If I didn't have your address from last year and you would like one, please PM me your address!
Kristel - Thanks for the postcard:hug: It came yesterday!
Morning all :wave2: Work, doctor appointment for Jimmy at 5:15, then Jim is shopping tonight (nothinglike getting that shopping done early, eh?:rolleyes:).
Happy Tuesday:goodvibes
Oh no, I hope you are ok!:hug:
Yes, I'm fine. I thought I would be alot more sore, but I'm not. My elbow got the worst of it. But I notice as you get older those things are harder to take :sad2:
Jim and I had beef pot pie that Jim made out of loft over beef stew:thumbsup2
That sounds really good!:thumbsup2
Really! My idea of camping was in my in-laws old RV - with a microwave, tv, and a curling iron :rolleyes:
Work's almost done (and I should be working :rolleyes:) and tonight we're going out for my husband's birthday to a wine tasting dinner at a local restaurant. We're taking my son and DIL too. We've done them before and they really enjoy it and it will be decorated for the holidays so it will be festive too (really festive after about the 5th glass of wine:rolleyes:). Then I took off tomorrow to spend the day with DH (his actual birthday is tomorrow and at his job you get off on your birthday - pretty cool). We'll do a last bit of Christmas shopping, then I'll be baking shortbread and pumpkin rolls. I'm alot further along that I thought I be with all the Christmas prep, so I'm feeling pretty good - but still can't believe Christmas is NEXT week!!!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
Janet, I think Quicken posts the states it serves (pretty sure it's all of them), and it adjusts the forms you fill out based on your state. :thumbsup2
*******************************************
Well, I successfully tested more first grade vision today. ;) I think I'm a fully qualified optometrist at this point. :rolleyes: :rotfl2:
Then, I stayed and cut out cardboard houses for the art teacher, then went to the grocery. Came home and that's about it. D got home from work really early and elected to take the boys to tennis so he could work out. I felt a little bad not going and working out myself, but I'm truly just enjoying a bit more quiet house time. :rolleyes1
I need to do some more laundry and then I guess I'll make dinner. At some point we do need to go see Santa (we promised) and I'd rather do it on a weeknight than the weekend. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday. The boys are cute and tend to want to buy gifts for each other, but we need to get that done, too.
Tomorrow is the rescheduled tennis match from next week, and that's about it, so it may wind up being a better day. The kids will have some homework, but then we could do dinner and some shopping.
Hope you've all had a good day!
