Hey, I was wondering, does anyone know if you can watch Wishes from the sandy beach at the Poly??

Mel:confused3

Night Night Janet. Gonna go snuggle on the couch with my honey. He's so sweet. He said he was NEVER expecting the para-sailing thing for Father's Day. He said, "I'm not sure I'm as brave as I made myself sound!"

Ha. :rotfl2:

That's gonna be a great TR update, YES?

Cya tomorrow!

Mel:goodvibes

Mel:confused3

::yes:: AND...you can take your Lapu down there. On the beach. And not have a clue as to what you are doing. allegedly.

My dad passed away 9 years ago and my DS is at his dad's this weekend, so it's just another weekend for me, too.

:hug: :hug: to you dear.

Quick, someone remind me why I chose to live down here. :headache:

um, hello.......because horrible hot weather is better than horrible cold weather anyday!!

As for my Father's Day, it's a hard day for me now. Dad passed away Jan. 5 2006 and even though they say it gets easier, it hasn't for me. I miss him terribly. He truly was one of the good guys.

:hug: :hug: to you too.

What's wrong with Buffalo Winters:rotfl2:
same thing as cleveland winters!!! :rotfl2:

Remember...I'm a JMAP. A Jewish Mexican American Princess. :teeth:

:lmao: :lmao: just love it!!!

Oh...and I updated my TR. Just sayin'...
i;ll check it out!!

We spent the afternoon at a National Trust property called Knole House, we often walk around the park and have always wanted to look in the house but didn't want to pay the $40 to enter, well I got some free tickets and it's beautiful inside

sound like a fun day... but definately good thing you didn't have to pay. why would they show you so little in such a big place?

i'll be here at work hoping you guys get home early and sign on so I am not bored out of my mind ;)

i'm working too !

Thanks for the hugs about Fathers Day. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
:hug: good to hear.

Hello "Fockers".. just a quick Drive By:drive: and a SHAMEFUL "PIMP"
as I just FINISHED my PTR.

Disney is Day after Tomorrow. I am still cleaning ( yup on Sunday):worried:
But with what happened "AGAIN" at Lunch today... I just had to add ONE MORE entry and close the PTR.

have a great time..............i'm going to check out your ptr!!!

I'm still feeling worn out, so I don't know what the plans are for the evening. :confused3

Until some of you talked about your dads, I totally forgot about my own dad. :worried: We haven't spoken in years,

sounds like your body is trying to tell you to rest!!!
i completely understand about the dad thing........ i haven't seen my real dad in years either. but i have a great stepdad and my husband is awesome with the kids.

I hate insomnia!
[/COLOR][/B]

that would suck.... i wouldn't understand bc i could sleep anytime, anywhere!!!!

Everybody must be still out doing Father's Day stuff. No FD for us this year, stupid father jetted off to Rome yesterday without me. :headache:

wow , rome, that sounds awesome. you have some serious will power and maturity to turn that down and put it towards your tuition. you go girl!!!

I know, but I have to share. You guys will totally get it. Just realized that "the time" is here. I'm elated! Why? Because I thought it was gonna show up on Friday when we leave for WDW....maybe it will be OVER by then, now!!!!

i get it now!! don't you just luv that .

Do you know how many times I had to read that before I got it!

i'm with ya girl, i had to read it a few times myself!! :rotfl2:

I have 4 loads to go.

i wish money was like laundry, cuz i never run out!!!:laughing:

This is a pet peeve of mine, and I want to know what you all think. What do you all think of people who say one thing, ie don't do something, and then turn around and do it themselves. The old do as I say, but not as I do.;)

oh, definately hate this !!!!!! it's kinda along the same lines as people who think they're perfect!! :headache:

No dancing here. My friend came with me! :(
Now you know why it was really hard to put up with my motha on my trip!
aaaawwwwww.......it makes perfect sense now!! ;)

hey all!! not much going on here. busy working !!

my dd (7) went on her first nonfamily sleepover sat night. she always wants to go with her brother (9). well, i;m really paranoid about letting her stay anywhere bc of the autism. i mean , she communicates well, but i'm just not sure if she would know to tell me if something happened while she was there, kwim? it makes me very nervous.

well, one of my ds(9) friends stayed over friday night. i have known his mom for 2 years. we were room mothers together 2 yrs ago. i completely trust her. i've talked about her here before, she is the one from miami, 100% cuban girl. soo much fun and a great person. well, she has 3 daughters 12, 11, and 3yrs. she came to get her ds from my house and asked my son to spend the night. then she told us that regan could stay too!! well, R was soooo excited, she went into her room , packed her bag, got her baby doll and was ready to go.

i was completely okay with it , not nervous at all like i thought i would be. i think it's just bc i trust this woman so much. my dh was a little nervous, just thinking it would be hard on our friend , since R is autistic, but she was okay with it. and , my ds (9) was so sweet. he said, it's okay dad, i'll be with her, i'll help watch her. wasn;t that the sweetest thing. he could have been mad, not wanting his little sis to tag along. i was so proud of him.

she did fine there, had a blast. she's already asking to stay again!!

just had to share. it's so cool when she can do "normal " things. it makes me feel good :goodvibes

sorry , that was long. but, just had to share. :lovestruc

Aww. Rachel that is so great! :goodvibes No wonder you feel so good about it! And don't apologize for sharing. That's what we're here for!

I hear you on the sleep anywhere/anytime. Sometimes when I'm making dinner, I lean back against the counter and close my eyes. I swear I could sleep standing up! :)

----------------

Ok, so apparently the cramps DON'T always mean "it's" imminent....
I've never actually WANTED it to show up! Come on, Come on, come on!!

My ds and dh just left to go golf 9 holes. This is my ds's first time on a real course. They've been to the driving range a ton and last summer he took lessons with a pro but they've never actually played a game. My dh wanted him to have some experience before they play next week in WDW. N looked so cute is his polo shirt and shorts. He said, "How do I look, Mom?" :goodvibes Really Cute!!

Hope you guys are sleeping in. I couldn't!

It does feel good when you have a kid with a "Dis-ability" and they blend in and be and FEEL NORMAL... that's why I LOVE DISNEY for Joshua. Did you see an article about a family that actually MOVED to Florida for their Autistic son because Disney was good therapy for him ?? If not I'll find it and get the link to you.

Katt, your light's on! :cool1: Shouldn't you be packing the car up?

Mel:banana:

That will be later today... they are still empty. Just pulled them down last night at 9:00. Our flight takes off I think at 2:30 tomorrow.

Good morning everybody! :goodvibes

Sounds like I missed an interesting night of chatting. ::yes::

Janet- I have no idea what's going on, but I'd be angry too, from what I've gathered. :furious: :hug: E-mail?

Mel- Do you take BCPs? You can just start your next month of pills and stop them when you come back. I take them 3 months straight as per my doctor's orders. Right now I have to take two every day to stave off the bleeding (also DR.'s orders). :headache: I can't go into surgery anemic, dernit!
Good luck however it goes.

Rachel- That sounds so special! What a good brother your DD has! :lovestruc

Katt- Will you be around today? Have a great trip, if not! :goodvibes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I'm excited to be doing school all week. I know it sounds crazy, but I miss school when we don't do it. My goal is to get 3 weeks of history done in 2.5 weeks before surgery. This curriculum I use is broken down into units, so that will be the end of the first unit. We'll then be off until 8/18 for recovery and B's dance camp in August.
Good Morning all. BAck to work for me today (Yech!)
Rachel - :woohoo: :woohoo:
Mel - Keeping my fingers crossed for you:rolleyes1
Katt - IT will all get done::yes::
So the garage sale was a success, almost $300 made.
Wooo hooo, WTG Mo! :cool1:
Buffalo Winters.
I went to St Bonaventure Rosie, our snow fences went up in October and came down in May. Heck I remember it snowing one time during May Finals:eek:
You mean you didn't enjoy 12 " of snow, blizzards. freezing rain, and sub zero temps !!:lmao:
Yep, that worked. Thanks guys! :rotfl:
V: I've got a code for ya'...DON'TSCREWMEOUTTATOOMUCHMONEY.
:lmao: Love it!
Trust V, Jen. I'm a lifer, too. :worried:
"Lifer" - too funny! :rotfl2: I'm working on it, though... I'm planning to have a talk soon about what each of our future plans entail. :scared:
And without missing a beat, V! I knew you'd catcht that! I love it! :lmao:
:thumbsup2
So she moved in with you! How long ago? Would you really want her to move out or is it just when she annoys you?
She moved in 2004, when I started school. This probably sounds awful, but I really, really need her to move out. We do NOT get along in the same household; hence why I moved into my own place at age 17. :headache: Problem is, she's so anti-social, her entire life revolves around Leo and me. It's not healthy for any of us, I'm afriad, but I suspect she'll be loathe to leave. Then again, maybe she'll be happy to get away from me!
So I need to get something off my chest, and I just know my Focker friends will give me an HONEST opinion.::yes::
This is a pet peeve of mine, and I want to know what you all think. What do you all think of people who say one thing, ie don't do something, and then turn around and do it themselves. The old do as I say, but not as I do.;)
Talk amongst yourselves.:smokin:
Yep, makes me crazy, too.
Hey, I was wondering, does anyone know if you can watch Wishes from the sandy beach at the Poly??
::yes:: My favorite spot!
That's great Rachel! :yay:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well, I did it. I pressed 1 this morning whilst making Dec. ADRs. You know - when it asks "Press 1 to make a reservation in the next 7 days, or if you're calling from the Orlando area." I figure I'm roughly in the "Orlando area", so it was worth a shot!

I called at 6:59am - and it was picked up on the first ring! The guy sounded half-asleep, and his computer was moving slowly, but otherwise I swear the whole thing went much faster than when I've not pressed 1. I had vitrtually no prompts re: how many trips, etc.

So, what did I get? Sorry, you'll have to wait and read about it in my TR. ;) But I'll say this: I got everything I wanted... and NONE were choices discussed here last week! :rotfl:

WHen I get home from work. Don't have your email here

Yep, that worked. Thanks guys! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2

I am going to start making all my ADR's under my mothers name and phone number::yes::

I'm moving. To the same town as my motha. :scared1: I'm 95% sure. Jon has been having some health issues and we need to be closer to his doctors. I've lived in my hometown my whole life. A town of 35,000. And now I'll be moving to a city of almost a million. :faint: I'm quitting my job and I'm in the hunt for a new one.

I have officially gone crazy. I think. Or maybe it's the arbor mist talking.
Oh, Jen. It sounds like the right thing to do, but... :rotfl2: and :hug: .

Adios Fockers (unless I'm back on tomorrow--we aim to leave by 10ish. ONly a 6 hour trip and we can't check in till 3.

Missed you, but have fun! :hug:

So we just pretend this weekend is just a weekend.

:hug:

Jon will be close to his docs...all 10 million of them. And, they have a school designed specifically for neurologically impaired kidlets. Very cool.

I must have lost my mind.

No, that's all very sound reasoning. But still... :hug:

OK Am I thew only one that thinks the name FatBarbie is just plainw rong for you!? You can be Ethnic Barbie or Hispanic Barbie...anything but Fat Barbie!!!

I missed quoting T, but ITA with Katt. :hug:

Kat said:
He was here until about 8pm just hanging out and chatting. It was bizarre to say the least. I think KC is secretly thrilled because they used to be very close.
Kat said:
We just ordered some Chinese food since it's storming out. Have a great night everyone! And happy father's day to all the awesome DIS Dads!

Oh, that's good, right? Hooray!

Quick, someone remind me why I chose to live down here. :headache:

109 inches of snow this winter. :)

So the garage sale was a success, almost $300 made. I have a charity coming for a pick up tomorrow as I didn't want to bring the stuff that didn't sell into the house, so I packed it up and left it on the front porch. What they don't take goes to the curb Tuesday night for garbage pick up. Now that the house is straightened up I don't want that carp back in.

Great news!

she did fine there, had a blast. she's already asking to stay again!!

just had to share. it's so cool when she can do "normal " things. it makes me feel good :goodvibes

That's fantastic, Rachel!

Good Morning all. BAck to work for me today (Yech!)

Good morning Janet! I would have agreed with folks yesterday. ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning, all.
Between t-ball and cooking for the dinner thing Sat. night, then Father's Day yesterday, I was barely on the computer.
We saw Kung Fu Panda yesterday. I liked it a lot! It even had a good message, go figure.
We're now having rain and 60's, though Saturday was gorgeous. Yesterday was kind of a bust, but we just hung out aside from the movie and that was OK.
Busy week coming up - boys have tennis today. D & I got our first lesson (his b-day gift) set up for tomorrow. I wish I could video it, because I'm SURE it will be amusing to see. :rotfl: The boys have a beach day Wed. at school, then we have a family picnic day after school on Thursday. Friday I have a home sales party to go to at my friend's. It's, an, um, grown-up party... :lmao: Should be interesting. More on that if I can figure out how to say it delicately.
D flies Saturday, but it's also the boys' last t-ball game and team party. :faint:
Trying to find time to take Jimmy to see this::yes::
Set the video camera up on a tripod and have the boys runs it:rolleyes1 :lmao:
popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::
D flies Saturday, but it's also the boys' last t-ball game and team party. :faint:
I am exhausted just reading all of this:faint:
Hmmm. OK. Four years ago, we were invited to a BBQ at the friend's house where we do all the holidays. I vaguely know her neighbor from parties, etc., and as we pulled in there were a bunch of cars at the neighbor's house, and I said to D, "Oh, L must be having a party."
We got to our friend's, and (oh, this is too confusing, I'm just naming her) Dee says, "You & I are going to L's. I forgot about this party."
OK.
I walk in, say hi to L (the only person there I know besides Dee) and come to find it's a, um... Relationship enhancement party? Fun for married folk? At any rate, turns out the consultant is L's cousin - she's doing this in front of her MOTHER and GRANDMOTHER for goodness sakes. I am mortified, really mostly because I know nearly no one in the room.
So I went to playgroup two days later and am telling this story, when, lo and behold, they all say I have to have one. They want it. :lmao: :rotfl:
So, I did. But it was a tight group of friends and it turned out to be really fun. The ordering and delivery are very private, so I still don't have TMI about my friends, :rolleyes1 and that was years back.
They keep getting on me to have another, but I kept not picking a day, so now one of them is doing one Friday. :rotfl2:
We flew into Paris with no issues. R, J2, & I shared a cab to the hotel. The flight crew had gotten in just about 15 minutes ahead of us, so that worked out fine.
They put us in the Hilton Eiffel Tower. Great, great location, but no charm. It wasn't contemporary enough to be cool like the Meridien at Nice, but not old French charm, either. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't special. But it was free for us, so...
Here are the views from our balcony:
and
We cleaned up and met down in the hotel bar for drinks. All six of us went out for dinner at a place just around the block, recommended by the concierge. It was called Restaurant Le Tour, and was VERY good. I had a chicken in a cream sauce that was fanatastic. :thumbsup2 I feel that the hotel must recommend it a lot, because there were NO patrons speaking anything but English. ;)
D & I decided to go for a walk after dinner and got these lovely views just a block from "home":
D was still having fun playing with camera settings, so here's the same picture a moment later, but different lighting or something:
We went back to the hotel and got ready for a big touring day...
