Yeah, and that's my fear... and my conundrum....

I'd like to let it ride until it actually dies. But then what if that's mid-summer and I can't get it fixed for a couple days? Conversely, what if I replace it before it dies and it gets washed out in a hurricane a week later?!

Quick, someone remind me why I chose to live down here. :headache:

Buffalo Winters.

So, the garage sale was a success, almost $300 made. I have a charity coming for a pick up tomorrow as I didn't want to bring the stuff that didn't sell into the house, so I packed it up and left it on the front porch. What they don't take goes to the curb Tuesday night for garbage pick up. Now that the house is straightened up I don't want that carp back in.

:cool1: :cool1:

As for my Father's Day, it's a hard day for me now. Dad passed away Jan. 5 2006 and even though they say it gets easier, it hasn't for me. I miss him terribly. He truly was one of the good guys. Rarely raised his voice, always there for his kids and truly loved Mom. Even when he was housebound he never complained. His concern was always for what it was doing to Murph and how his illness was making her stay home too. I know he is in a better place, and I know he is watching over us, he is still taking care of us. Love ya Dad:hug:

:hug:

Mo: :hug: It was nice to hear your recollections. So sad when the good ones go... :hug:

T: Brace Face Trace! Ha! BFT...for short.

Rosie: Fingers crossed for you!

Janet: Hi :wave2:

Rachel: Hi :wave2:

V: Yeah, the music thing. We're more 80's metal folks here, though I like everything except classic country and gansta rap. (ok, that's not REALLY true either!) We have some Johnny Cash and Kanye around here somewhere! The stuff that's on constant rotation round here: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Queensryche, 311, Ramones and Classics (Zeppelin, Doors, Beatles etc) Love the Dead Kennedys and Social D!!!
But, when my oldest puts on this stuff like the Killers, I want to cover my ears. Who told that guy he can sing?

Never got into the Dead but had good friends who were Super-Fans!
--------------------------------------

Ok, so on my way to bed last night around 1 am and guess what?! Power goes out again! SHEESH! So, had a great breakfast planned for my DH and nope. Called the power co and they estimate midnight. Great. So, I grabbed N and we ran to the market and Caribou for coffee. Saved the day with fresh pineapple cut up, enterman's danish and lattes!! Go Me!

Power came back on at 10:30 am. I'm SO happy. I have a fridge full of steak marinating for tonight's dinner!

Hope everyone else is having a great day and a happy Father's Day! BTW, there are still people just a mile from me that don't have power from LAST Sunday...Poor folks! :worried:

Mel:banana:

I went to St Bonaventure Rosie, our snow fences went up in October and came down in May. Heck I remember it snowing one time during May Finals:eek:

You mean you didn't enjoy 12 " of snow, blizzards. freezing rain, and sub zero temps !!:lmao:

Jo...Meeska is living here now, in my hometown. But, hopefully, she will be moving up to Albuquerque with me. She wants to get her masters and then go on to become the next Dr. Ruth.

Mo: :hug:

V: I've got a code for ya'...DON'TSCREWMEOUTTATOOMUCHMONEY.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I'm making dinner for my dad. I'm such a daddy's girl. Even to this day.
Remember...I'm a JMAP. A Jewish Mexican American Princess. :teeth:
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!
Good Morning FOckers. SO busy yesterday that I never even got a chance to read. I logged onto the computer about 9:30 last night, check my email and then passed out. WEnt to the eye doctor, got home aorund 12:00. Ran out and got ice and last minute stuff for the BBQ, left to pick my SIL and Nephew up in Jersey and then came back here. BBQ was fun and Jmmy had fun running around in theyard, jumping in his "whale" pool and then running around some more.
Sounds like a fun day, Janet! :thumbsup2
I'm sending you mnay hugs. :hug: My dad passed away 9 years ago and my DS is at his dad's this weekend, so it's just another weekend for me, too.
:hug: to you my friend!
:faint: Here's the good news, though - if YOU move in with HER, it's much easier to move back out down the road. Trust V. I suspect Gramma is here to stay. FOREVER. :headache: (Can you tell she's driving me nuts this week?!)
Trust V, Jen. I'm a lifer, too. :worried:
I've got this great diet: I don't eat anything all day and when I feel like I'm going to faint, I eat a piece of cheese. :rotfl2: Sorry you're still in pain. :hug:
And without missing a beat, V! I knew you'd catcht that! I love it! :lmao:
So what do ya'll know about replacing AC parts? I got a quote for $3500 to replace the whole system.... to which my response was "Yeah, right. Forget it!" Seems I can replace just the condenser, though it won't be quite as efficient as replacing the whole shebang. He gave me an unofficial quote of $1600 - does that seem right? How do I shop around? Does anyone have a code?! :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
Sorry about the A/C - I've got nothing for ya. :confused3
Quick, someone remind me why I chose to live down here. :headache:
Errr... uhhhh... the Mouse?? :bitelip:
Nice wad-o-cash, Mo! :thumbsup2
Who's that? A new band?? :duck:
But, when my oldest puts on this stuff like the Killers, I want to cover my ears. Who told that guy he can sing?
:faint: MEL!!! You're KILLING me!! Heh heh... get it? I love the Killers, too! :cool1:
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there!
OK Am I thew only one that thinks the name FatBarbie is just plainw rong for you!? You can be Ethnic Barbie or Hispanic Barbie...anything but Fat Barbie!!!
Hope you're teeth are feeling better!
Totally agree!!!!
he comes over and actually hugged me and was pretty cool. He was here until about 8pm just hanging out and chatting. It was bizarre to say the least. I think KC is secretly thrilled because they used to be very close.
That's great for KC, weird after all this time but good :thumbsup2
SO, it takes a LONG time what with me saying things like, "he said the girl he's with is EASY, that's NOT ok." *eye rolling*
And, "Um, what does he mean 'party party party' ?" "Does he mean with ALCOHOL?"
*more eye rolling*
Oh Mel :rotfl2:
Jo: Did you say jam tarts??? :hyper:
Yep, fraid they've all gone already, we also made some kind of jam (jelly to you) parcels with the left over pastry, can't waste any :rotfl2:
So tomorrow is Father's day, right? Well with everything going on this week, I completely forgot to order Andy's new cell phone! :eek: I am presentless! Oh and I completely forgot about Waldo's gift too! :faint: I ran over to Target and grabbed Andy a canister of Almond Roca (his fav. candy) and a card, then I printed a pic of his new phone he is getting on Friday. I feel soooo bad! :(
You've been very busy lately with school and work so don't feel bad, he's got some candy right :thumbsup2
250 .................................
Cheater :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
BBQ was fun and Jmmy had fun running around in theyard, jumping in his "whale" pool and then running around some more.
Sounded like fun!
I suspect Gramma is here to stay. FOREVER. :headache: (Can you tell she's driving me nuts this week?!)
So she moved in with you! How long ago? Would you really want her to move out or is it just when she annoys you?
So what do ya'll know about replacing AC parts?
Sorry nothing, not much use for it here :rotfl:
So the garage sale was a success, almost $300 made.
That's fantastic Mo!
As for my Father's Day, it's a hard day for me now. Dad passed away Jan. 5 2006 and even though they say it gets easier, it hasn't for me.
He sounded like a wonderful man :hug:
Ok, so on my way to bed last night around 1 am and guess what?! Power goes out again! SHEESH!
Again???? Glad it came back on before they thought!
Jo...Meeska is living here now, in my hometown. But, hopefully, she will be moving up to Albuquerque with me. She wants to get her masters and then go on to become the next Dr. Ruth.
Sounds like a plan, so were you both originally from Albuquerque?
Today I'm making dinner for my dad. I'm such a daddy's girl. Even to this day.
Me too :rotfl2:
David liked his pressies, we've already tried his new game and a couple of the games are tough!!!! We spent the afternoon at a National Trust property called Knole House, we often walk around the park and have always wanted to look in the house but didn't want to pay the $40 to enter, well I got some free tickets and it's beautiful inside, lots of Kings have lived there and they still had lots of their original beds, crockery etc. It has 365 rooms and 52 stairways so is massive. Well we'd looked around in about 40 minutes and we were like huh we're finished :confused: We must have only been allowed in about 15 of the rooms and saw 1 staircase :headache: lets just say we were very glad we had free tickets :rotfl:
Morning folks...
Happy Fathers day to all the Focker Dads out there.... :)
Hope everyone having a good day... I'll be here at work hoping you guys get home early and sign on so I am not bored out of my mind ;)
Good Afternoon Fockers. Hope you all are having a great weekend. We had fun and also squeezed in the drive in last night. We are home now and ready to start pricing for the big sale this weekend.
Thanks for the hugs about Fathers Day. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I even resisted the urge to send the kid's dads a letter letting them know what wonderful kids they are and how much they are missing not being here.
Mel -- Sorry about the power. Way to save the breakfast though.
Mo -- Great news on your sale.
Hello "Fockers".. just a quick Drive By:drive: and a SHAMEFUL "PIMP"
as I just FINISHED my PTR.
Disney is Day after Tomorrow. I am still cleaning ( yup on Sunday):worried:
But with what happened "AGAIN" at Lunch today... I just had to add ONE MORE entry and close the PTR.
Katt:
I read! I am so glad you are getting away. You need it! :thumbsup2
Don't look for me on Space Mtn. It scares the living heck outta me.
Mel:bitelip:
Katt and Mel do you guys have a meet planned or does your trip not overlap:confused3
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi all, back from the birthday party. Now I am doing laundry, which I will probably be up all night doing. Have to get it doen so I can start packing for the beach trip on Friday. Need to have everything packed Thursday night so that we can pack the car Friday morning on the way to work.
::yes:: ED! I see your light on! ::yes::
How are the chickens??? Are you gonna take pics? :hyper:
How's things? where is everyone???
mel:confused3
Happy Father's Day, DIS Dads! :goodvibes
Our day was really low-key. I didn't feel well, but I couldn't sleep, so I got up. I made eggs, sausage, fruit and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. :thumbsup2 It was yummy. I went back to bed about 8:30 and slept until 10:20! :scared1: Crazy, huh?
I nap sometimes, but I never go back to bed. I'm not really in pain as much, but I'm so physically exhasuted, it's weird. I got up and showered and hung out watching an America's Best Dance Crew marathon. The kids went to the park with K and to get ice cream, so I napped again! :confused:
I'm still feeling worn out, so I don't know what the plans are for the evening. :confused3
Until some of you talked about your dads, I totally forgot about my own dad. :worried: We haven't spoken in years, but I'm surprised I totally forgot about him. :eek: Very strange. He's pretty much a mean man who couldn't care less about talking to my brother and me- so I don't waste my time worrying about him. He's one of the reasons I celebrate my hubby so much today. I'm very thankful that he's my kids' daddy. :lovestruc
See you all in the morning! :cutie:
