Rumers are out that some teachers actually get christmas bonuses. If you get one, where do you work and whats your bonus.

Thanks Tigger

In 27 years, I have never heard of a teacher getting a bonus at Christmas. We get a letter wishing us well and thanking us for our services.

I used to teach in a day care center in NC that gave out bonuses every Christmas.

The public and private schools I've worked in didn't give bonuses.

Now I teach pre-k in a DC, we get an apple pie for Thanksgiving.:)

Our school is on huge budget cuts, they are having to get rid of several teachers and support staff...so nope on the bonuses, they've never given any in the past either tho.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Thanks for the laugh! We just get lunch.

I also didn't think that public schools could give bonuses. Teachers are underpaid all year. If there's extra money, it ought to be incorporated into raises that are spread out through all the pay periods.

I heard one Oklahoma school received $400 raises for xmas in the past. Not this year though.

Our school lost this years increment pay. More budget cuts on the way. The state has cut all schools over 6 % of moneys expected this year.

Our teachers received a Christmas bonus - $200! :bounce: from a catholic school. Catholic school teachers are soooo underpaid that whenever the school can, it does give out bonuses.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
Seriously, we have a catered lunch on the last day but we have to pay $10 for it. It used to be a potluck.
We got donuts the other day when we met our new superintendent.
I'm in HS so I'll be lucky to get anything from anyone but my secret santa!

My bonus is the joy I feel as I leave the bulding for two weeks! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

We usually get a turkey.

I teach in Public School now and there is no bonus. When I taught in a Catholic School, I received $100 bonus. However my salary now is TRIPLE over what I made there five years ago.

Our bonus was we were told we were going to have to take 10% reduction in teaching staff per school next year. I thought it was awful nice of them to tell us before the holidays :)
