DW is a kid at heart and really wants to go to Tea w/ Wendy. Unfortunately, we have a DS (4 1/2).

Has anyone, adult, gone to the Tea party alone? Has anyone gone with their son? How out of place will she/they be?

Lastly, where do you go to reserve the party?

Thanks,

Jeff

My mom and my two sisters went to the Tea party on the Magic in October. They said that they saw a few boys there but no adults alone. They said it was ok though, but not as fun as they though it would be. You can make reservations at the front desk.

She can definitely bring your DS. My son and I went on our last cruise. He might even be lucky enough to be chosen to sit with Wendy on stage (mine did).

Things you should know:
This is not a long event: 20-25 minutes tops
You sit at small tables. Each has tea cups, a pot of iced tea, and cookies.
Wendy brings 2 boys up to "sit in" for her brothers.
Children are brought up to Wendy's table for a picture.

That's it. Not something to rearrange your schedule for, but cute and fun. My DS loved it, but some feel it's too short and casual. I think it's great as long as you know what you're expecting. :cool1:

My DW and I attended this party on our last cruise by ourselves. We were the only adults without kids and I was only one of two men there.

Yes, I did have my picture taken with Wendy!
:cool1:

you just go to guest services to make your reservations and get your tickets. one per person.

i'm sorry to say that tea with wendy did not meet my expectations. but nevertheless, it was something to do during an "at sea" day.

I'm still a little confused. Is this something I race for the first day along w/ Palo and kids club sign up? Or is this something they give out tickets for the day before or morning of that they are doing it, and I have to race for another day? I know its not a "BIG" event, but I know my dd6 and dd7 would enjoy it.

You don't have to race to get tickets like Palo, but I would still go Guest Services the first day to get tickets. :D

Thanks! Are there like 200 other people in line too? Is it an unbearably long wait?

Your son will be welcome. I agree with the other posters. The time is very short, but nice for a quick photo op. My 6yo DD and I went. My only gripe; I wish they would serve something like apple juice instead of the iced tea. Most young kids do not like the tea. They did serve some nice cookies.

It was a let down. Search for my post on tea with wendy. don't race for tickets. The event is literally 15 minutes and a poor excuse for a photo op.

We just walked up to the counter. If there is a long line, don't wait, come back later. :D

As an unabashed Disney fanatic and defender, I'm always a little amazed at the not so positive reactions to Tea With Wendy. We have done this twice and found it delightful. Last time my DS was selected to be one of Wendy's brothers. He is 8. On our first 7 night cruise he was 5 or 6 and ever since has reminded us of the proper way to drink tea.

This is not a big splashy production or a long program, but the cookies are great. We think it is a lot of fun and just one of the many activities made available to try and meet everyone's tastes.

Go, enjoy, but like a couple of folks said, don't hurt yourself to get tickets, they don't seem to fill up the room each time.

Thanks again, you guys are the best.

Newbie thanks for your info too. My DD6 and DD7 know Wendy, and are use to the Character meals from WDW where the characters visit, but don't sit & stay with us . They love getting autographs and having photos taken with the characters. I thought I saw somewhere that Wendy reads a story, they would love that. It will be nice for me to have a picture of them that is more staged, rather than a half eaten plate of food in front of them or someone else in the background with a fork to their face as is the case with most of the WDW Character meal photos we have. 20-30 min sounds great, then we can find some other fun. I bet your DD will like it better when she is a little older and knows the story of Peter Pan. :)
