Next August 7 of us girlfriends will be arriving at WDW to celebrate one friend's birthday..I am wanting to make ressies for tea at the GF...I think I read somewhere that there are different types or styles. If so, will someone please give me a link, explain it to me, and if possible the cost?..Thank you in advance for your help.

If you go to allearnet.com, they have all of the menus and pricing for the teas at GF.

Have a wonderful time, my mom and I LOVE our teas at the GF!!! You must try a raspberry swan!

What is a raspberry swan? I am just starting to research for a tea in April and haven't seen this yet - lol

Actually, it's www . allears . net

Or www allearsnet com; there are two ways to access it.

Also, this board has a wonderful secondary website with all the menus, photographs and explanations for the restaurants. It's good to support our free chatboard. :lovestruc www.wdwinfo.com

Thank you:) I did checkout allearsnet.com...the prices aren't as bad as I thought so that will be a great way to celebrate Colleen's birthday:) I love the pictures on the wdwinfo.com site for the tea..just beautiful.. I think I will also have to do tea when I take my sister's little granddaughter in 2010..she thinks because I took her brother, it's her turn now:) I can't wait...she is such a girly girl, except when she plays soccer or softball:)

It's a lot of fun, esp for a group of girls. You can order one of the teas that comes with things and share it, or order ala carte, or whatever you choose.

I love the tea at the GF and I make it a practice to go each time I am in WDW.
There is a nice selections of teas, some flavored, some herbal. Instead of tea bags there are tea leaves and they bring the tea out in in a china tea pot and let the tea seep. they give you a small strainer so that when you pour the tea into your cup you do not get the tea leaves. The sugar is sugar cubes, which is a nice touch.
You also have a choice of tea offerings, if you check out Deb Wills site it shows you what is included in each. Here is a link http://allears.net/menu/menu_gft.htm

I like the Buckingham Palace offering, you get some tea sandwiches, scones with raspberry jam and devonshire cream (absolutely fabulous) there is also a a raspberry tart and then you have your choice of strawberries with fresh cream or 2 pastries. One of the selections is a swan shaped pastery but I do not know if if is raspberry or not.
The one thing I really like about the tea is the service, you are able to just take your time and enjoy your tea, or coffee and your food. You are not rushed so it really is a nice way to relax in the afternoon.
I am sure you will enjoy the tea with your friends

The raspberry swans are pastries and are absolutely delicious.

I recomend reservations early there. We found out the hard way this past trip. They set aside a certain number of tables for guests of the GF. My friend was originally told they were booked solid for our entire stay. The day before she wanted to have tea, she stopped by the concierge desk. They told her they could squeeze us in as long as we were staying there (which most of them were, I was staying at POP). When we got to tea, only one other table was seated.

Don't take this as bashing. The entire experience there was wonderful, just book ahead. I had the grand tea, it was excellent.

Do we make reservations like we do ADRs through Disney dining at 180 days or do we call the GF direct? The more I read about this, the more fun I think it looks. :thumbsup2

You just make it through Disney Dining like other restaurants.

Every time I have gone it's been packed and since it's a small space and most people take up that table just about the entire time it's open, they book quickly.

:thanks:

I went there last month with my daughter and we had a wonderful time. We both ordered the Buckingham Palace, around $20 each. It came with your choice of tea, we both had the Mad Hatter's, five tea sandwiches, a scone and tart and finally you could pick between strawberries or two pastries from the pastry tray. We both picked the pastries and I had the swan, so cute! It is a wonderful mother/daughter experience, or for that matter for anyone who enjoys "girly" experiences. Hope this helps.

Enjoy the magic!!

The Swan is a beautiful pastry:) I will definitely get that:) Just hearing about it makes me more sure that this is the right decision:)
