Hi i've just booked my holiday through travel city direct and was wondering if anybody else has booked or has previously travelled with them princess:

i travelled with them the one and only time i've been to florida previously....everything was fine...the plane took off and landed on time, there were reps at Sanford to give us our welcome packs, car hire took about 20 mins to sort out and then we were on our merry way and they rang our room phone (we did our accomodation independently but gave them the number to notify us of any flight changes etc) just to make sure everything was going well and wish me and my aunty happy birthday (two consecutive days during our stay).

Booked last month with them to go again next summer, just me and two friends and they were very helpful and I have every faith in them. If our flights get delayed then they do...as long as we end up getting 14 days in the sunshine state I don't really mind what happens outside of that. Ok it might be inconvenient but hey....im not paying for perfect flight times and top of the range aircraft, im paying for two weeks in the sunshine with my two closest friends!

TCD is a topic that crops up a lot on many Disney boards.

Mainly I think because the prices are usually (but not always) better than other operators, and people wonder if there is a catch.

Responses tend to be either -

1. They are great, never had any problems, and saved me a packet.

OR

2. They are satan incarnate and I would not spit on them if they were on fire.

I suspect this is what any company has, good and bad feedback.

Personally, having used them 6 or 7 times, I fall into category 1. I really have had no problems, and their prices have enabled us to keep going back to the magic year after year.

Some say that TCD prices come up out more expensive than other carriers, but having planned over 10 trips now I have never been able to replicate that. I suppose it depends on the time of year and size of party etc.

I reserve the right to jump to category 2 if they ever mess us about, but for now, I speak as I find, and they have been fine for us.

Their planes have been known to be a little on the "used" side, but I believe they are addressing that with some new planes joining the fleet.

They fly into Sanford, which is a little further out than Orlando airport, but it has its benefits. It can be quicker to get processed at Sanford due to the less complex lay out (ie no double bag collection as at Orlando etc).

If money were no object I probably would not fly TCD....but then again I wouldn't drive the car I do, or go to work....so that doesn't mean they are bad.

TCD are OK in my view and should get you there with minimum fuss, but perhaps with a frill or two less than some other operators.

Craig :)

I'd say, if you have got a reasonable price try them! what's the worse that can happen? delays/aircraft change etc can happen with any carrier and even paying BA first class won't guarantee against that. Its a small part of your holiday and you'll have the best time ever there, especially if you've saved money by going with them.

There are loads of mixed reviews about them. We decided to give it a go at christmas last year and didnt have a problem with them at all. Infact we landed in Sanford early!

If the price was right I'd deffinately go with them again.

thanks everyone just was a little unsure as i had not heard of them before!i booked it through them as the price is right but knew i would be fine when i arrived at disney thanks AGAIN

Think this is a great sentiment.

The travel agent/airline is just a means to an ends... the real goal is being in Orlando.

Travelling can sometimes have its ups and its downs (although hopefully it wont): we live in an increasingly uncompromising society, but in an imperfect world. Just take the any rough with the smooth, smile and look forward to two FABULOUS weeks in Orlando :thumbsup2

Don't worry, just have a fantastic trip :)

Boo

can't add much more than to say we are flying with them tomorrow for the 3rd time so they can't be to bad. Delays are always possible but we have always arrived on time or EARLY! :thumbsup2
Sit back and think of the Parks when you get to the other end of the journey :thumbsup2 chills me out everytime.
