Taylor's Once in a lifetime wish 3/13 ~ update 3/12 More BIG GIVES & time to go pg 30

EPCOT does take a while to do! Also, do they still have that Kim Possible scavenger hunt there? Your girls are the perfect age for that!! Also at EPCOT there are lots of stations around where the kids can stop and make something - so if your girls are crafty..........I love Test Track, Soarin, Living Seas, Imagination, ride in Norway, show in America (its pretty cool)..and yes the FOOD!!!! lol....

I love ending a trip at MK as well!! If they have the fireworks and parade do it!!! Its so awesome!!

We usually have an awesome time at HS as well, love tower of terror, rock n rollercoaster, beauty and the beast show, toy story mania, back lot tour - oh and I love to go to the animation studio and learn how to draw a character - so FUN!! and love muppetvision 3D too!!!!!! Fantasmic is also really cool!!!

I think AK is a 1/2 day place - unless you are extreme animal lovers - then you can spend a ton of time there!!!

So you are going to Chef Mickey's - any other ADR's?

I will def have to look into the scavenger hunt they will love it & they love crafty things as well.....

I thought that would be a fun way to end our trip.... :)

We have an ADR at Crystal Palace for lunch .... I hear that it is a really fun place....

Your plans sound great. I wish we get in so early. I believe they have a 3 or 3:30pm orientation. I believe it's about a hour..so..about 4:30 you would get done. I would say you really wouldn't have time. I would just go to DTD.

We are going to try to do AK and DHS in one day. I picked Monday because DHS has EMH and they don't close until 10 and hoping to get some pixie dust and get to stay. We can stay until 2 or 3 at AK(only a few things we really want to do there) and then head to DHS till at least 9

US and IOA is hard..We are going to try and do both, but my kids loves the fast rollercoasters.

Epcot is an all day park for us. We have never been there and want to take our time. I heard from many that you just can't to a half day there.

Sea World day is great:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Our girls prob will not go on any fast rides... they still have no urge for that yet.... LOL so I am hoping that will allow us to do everything else they want to do....

I think after all of the awesome input we will be doing DTD the day of our arrival. :)

We are very excited to have everyone going.... it will prob get a little hectic at times but I am planning on just going with the flow.....
When the 9 of you went down did you do any ADR together? We will be giong to the Crystal Palace & when I made the reservation it said we may be seated at different tables??? I was wondering if that happened to you?

We did some dining together, my sister was on the dining plan and I didn't want to interfere too much with that. We ate at Yak & Yeti for lunch, my BIL had one of the first reservations for the day, he walked up and explained that they had a reservation for 7 but wanted to add 2 more people. It wasn't a problem. They did have to sit us at two tables though but the tables were right behind each other so it wasn't really bad. We just split us my two nieces (one to each table group) and got up to share food. As for Whispering Canyon, they had no problem sitting us all in a big table - they sat us at a round table. And we also did Raglan Road, which they just pushed together a few tables for us to sit together. So if they have to break you up into two tables, the tables will be close to each other. But when they could, they just pushed the tables together.

There is usually a 3pm orientation at GKTW and I think you will arrive in time to make this.

How long was the orientation when you went?

I think hanging out at GKTW during the afternoon then heading to your ADR a little early and checking out the Contemporary Resort (CR) before dinner would be fun. Also DTD is on the way to the CR so maybe stopping there for a few hours would be doable.

Do you know about how long it takes to get to DTD from GKTW? About how far from DTD is CR?

You guys are gonna have a blast at CP!!!

We can not wait.... I heard from a few people that the food is good & so are the characters... Did you guys eat there this time or just Chef Mickey's?

I think hanging out at GKTW would be a good idea... but don't base your plans of of my suggestions. :lmao: I see you have a lot of great ideas!

:lmao: I appreciate any & all suggestions!!!!

DHS is open till 8:30 so I think you would be able to do both in one day. But you need to have a 'must see' list and stick to that list. If you have extra time then add in another ride/show/attraction. At DHS, the characters are usually only out till 5pm... just a little FYI in case there are characters the girls want to see.

In AK there are only a few things that are a "must see" for us... Safari, Forest Exploration Trail, Rapids, Expedition Everest, DINOSAUR (my husband :rotfl:), the kids ride area, Festival of the Lion King & Camp Minnie Mickey Greeting Trail. So do you think it is going to be a reality to get there for opening & be at DHS by 2ish???

Try to park at the TTA and take the monorail over to Epcot. Then you can take the monorail from Epcot to MK for the evening. After the fireworks your car will already be at the TTA (aka Magic Kingdom parking lot)

Ok ok don't laugh but what is TTA???? :lmao:

You can honestly spend 2 days in Epcot and not see everything. I think you will want to ride Spaceship Earth too... that is the ride in the big ball. So I would hit SE, Soarin', Nemo, TT, then head counter clockwise around the world. Keep in mind that the WS doesn't open (usually) till 11am. It will take you 3 hours minimum to do the WS- especially if you are stopping in each country or having the girls do the Kidcot stops. There are also shows & characters that you will see along the way that will take some time too.:goodvibes

We were thinking of getting to Epcot around opening then MK by around 3 or 4?

ALL MY RESPONSES ARE IN BLUE..... I hope I did it right ... :lmao:

THANK YOU ALL SOOOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP & SUGGESTIONS!!!!!! :thanks::disrocks:

LOL, I'll respond for Tim's post.

I think he meant to say TTC (Ticket & Transportation Center). That's what Disney calls the area at the Magic Kingdom where you are dropped off by the tram and can purchase your Tickets and then decide if you want to ride the monorail or the boat to the Magic Kingdom.

TTA would be the Tomorrowland Transit Authority or Peoplemover, or whatever the heck the ride is called now. :rotfl: It's a good ride to just relax and rest for a few mins over in Tomorrowland. It's by the Astro Orbiter.

I'm assuming you'll be driving your rental, the drive from DTD to CR would probably be about 10 mins or so. But I would make sure I was on the car about 30-45 mins before your reservation, just in case of anything. :rotfl:

Your plans sound great to me! It is so nice that you have so much time on the day you arrive to hang out at GKTW. It really is fun to start getting your park days and ADR's planned isn't it!?! I am loving following along.

Thanks for following along!!!!! We can not wait.....

First...we *may* be there the same time as you!! Something has come up that may change that...but...we might be!!

Tentative Schedule ..... :confused3 open to ANY suggestions....

Ok let me start by saying that the WISH trippers include 5 of us then My parents, my brother & his girlfriend will be meeting us there. :dance3:

We (wish trippers) arrive on Sunday Mar 13 at 12:05pm then the rest of the "crew" will be getting there Monday around 11 AM. We leave on Saturday Mar 19 at 2pm the rest of the "crew" leave on Friday around 3pm. So the hard part is getting everything in that we want to do together.... :confused3 I will take ANY suggestions from anyone that is willing to share them.... ;)

OK here it goes.... LOL

Sunday Mar 13 ~ arrive at 12:05pm go to orientation.... How do we find out times of orientations???? We figured we would check out GKTW some then we were thinking of maybe checking out US or IOA a little bit we have reservation at Chef Mickey's at 7:50. Do you think it would be worth going to US/IOA at all this day? We will only have one day for both parks during the week so we thought maybe we could hit a few things this day but we don't know if it is worth it ..... :confused3 Then we were thinking maybe we would just go to DTD after orientation instead of US or IOA until our reservations??

The orientations are usually either 9 AM or 7ish (can't remember if it is 7:30 or 7:00)...and they sometimes do a 3:00 ish orientation. You could just ask them to do a private one if you are going to be going to a park after you get there. :)

Honestly...play this day by ear. You may find that your group really wants to play at GKTW - there is so much to do there! But if you get unpacked, go to walmart, do orientation, eat and explore at GKTW and still get bored...then you could do US. lol

Monday Mar 14 ~ Magic Kingdom.... we figured get up & eat breakfast at GKTW then head over to MK the rest of the "crew" will be meeting us there hopefully around 12:30pm then we have a reservation for all of us at Crystal Palace at 2pm.

Awesome timing! Late lunch! Yum! CP is one of my favorites!

Tuesday Mar 15 ~ Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure ~ this is our only day here so that is why we were wondering if we should go to US or IOA at all on the day we arrive?

I think a lot of families just do one day here...I would just plan to get there pretty early. They do a good job getting you in the front of lines...so hopefully that will help!

Wednesday Mar 16 ~ Arrive at AK when they open stay until early afternoon then head over to HS... There is not much we want to do at AK so do you think that this is a realistic plan? LOL ;)

What is on your list at AK?

Thursday Mar 17 ~ Day at Seaworld then back to GKTW for Christmas festivities.... :santa:

My only thought here is to remember Sea World is huge...and try to either do Santa early (first thing before dinner if you can) and then do festivities OR leave Santa to the very end.

Friday Mar 18 ~ Epcot in the morning until early afternoon (then the rest of the "crew" will leave) then back to MK for the evening & nighttime parade/fireworks... I really wanted to end our trip at MK I think this will be the girls favorite park.

Great thinking!!!! The only thing here is to maybe watch the weather...? To make sure you don't need to swap for a bettter weather day to make sure they get to see it...?

Saturday Mar 19 ~ We can hang out at GKTW all morning our flight is at 2:05 to go home :sad2:. What time do we have to check out from GKTW?

I think check out is at 11? But I am sure you can get a later check out...you will want to allow 2.5 hours to get to the airport and get checked in anyway, probably.

The few things that I am trying to figure out are:
1~ what to do the day we arrive, do we go to US or IOA at all or should we just go to DTD? I think you will be doing good to hang at GKTW or DTD.
2~ is it possible to do AK & HS in one day???? Depends on what you have in store at both parks...if you want to catch a bunch of shows, it will be tricky.
3 ~ is it possible to do US/IOA in one day???? ?? never been. But you do get front of the line access!
4 ~ my parents really want to see Epcot & I think there are certain things my girls would love there so we want to go how many hours do you think Epcot would take? We will most likely be walking "around the world" to all the pavillions to try all the foods.... :lmao: then Test track, Soarin & Nemo but that is really all we are planning on for Epcot....I would think a full day. The walk around Epcot is a mile plus and they have shops and things to see in each country...so it sorta depends.

I think that is it for now :lmao:.... It is getting close so I want to try to look down a "plan".

Please feel free to offer & advice or alternate plans, they will be GREATLY appreciated....:)

Great job!!!!

How long was the orientation when you went?
It took about 50 minutes ad this is where you get your park tickets so it would be hard to go to a park before you get your tickets! ;)

Do you know about how long it takes to get to DTD from GKTW? About how far from DTD is CR?
You can get there in about 30 minutes. It isn't far but there are quite a few lights on the way.

We can not wait.... I heard from a few people that the food is good & so are the characters... Did you guys eat there this time or just Chef Mickey's?
We ate there for dinner. It was really a good time and the food was :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

So do you think it is going to be a reality to get there for opening & be at DHS by 2ish???
That is a tough question... I think you might be walking out of AK about 2. :confused3

Ok ok don't laugh but what is TTA????
Woops... I meant to type the TTC (ticket & transportation center)

We were thinking of getting to Epcot around opening then MK by around 3 or 4?
I'm thinking 4. :goodvibes

HI! Just stopping in to see your pretrip report! Wow, sounds like you guys are going to have a great trip! You seem like you have totally picked up on the acronyms! Good job! I have 2 daughters too! ;) It looks like you are doing great on the planning! I agree with Wendy, the Kim Possible missions are perfect for your daughters age and will make the tour around the countries at Epcot more fun for the them! There are icons on the map to show you where you can pick up the little transponder for them! I have to say that your Christmas post about the boyscouts had me in tears I don't really cry that much! :) Can't wait to hear about more of your planning!
Erica

Thank you to all the new people joining on our pre trip planning..... :welcome:!!!

I have been trying for about a week to upload some photos to photobucket & I am having such problems!!! I don't know if it is my computer or photobucket.... I am going to try again today so we will see how it goes

I just thought I would come on & let you know what has been going on... Taylor was asked by the hospital to go to the Major League Baseball awards dinner in NYC. She took her Daddy, she said it was like a date because they had to get all dressed up..;) I have alot of good pics to share IF I can get them uploaded!!!!
They had a blast & met alot of cool people!! My husband is a HUGE Yankee fan & all he kept saying was I can not believe I am sitting next to Joe Girardi & Bernie Williams... I dont know who was more excited him or Taylor :lmao:

Today is Taylor's first day of round 6 of chemo (half way there, we hope) ... I am praying this rpund goes smoothly.... She was very emotional yesterday & this morning before we got here because she doesn't want to do it anymore....:sad2: I feel so badly for her having to go through this.

This morning was bad because Samantha cries whenever Taylor has chemo because she goes to school by herself & she worries ALOT about Taylor, then Taylor is crying this morning because she just does NOT want to go & she is yelling about anything she can yell about.... I am sitting there ready to just breakdown & cry because no matter what I say I can not make either of them feel better.... BUT we made it through & Sami is in school, Taylor is hooked up & getting her chemo as I type & I am ranting & raving on the board!!!! SORRY!!

Back to our trip.... :) Our plans are coming along well... We have 2 ADRs one at Chef Mickeys & one at Crystal Palace, we decided not to do Cinderella's Royal Table. Neither girl was that excited about it & we asked them & they said they didn't care if we ate there or not.... I hope they don't change their minds :scared1:

Well thank you for all your awesome advice, please feel free to keep sending any my way if there is anything you think of that I may have missed ;)

Oh Teresa, I am so sorry - I feel so bad for the girls - remind them that good times are coming!!!! Pixie Dust headed your way!!!:goodvibes

Joining in, great report so far! I am so sorry that the girls are having such a tough time, and I can't say that I blame them.. You all sooo deserve this trip and all the pixie dust that comes with it!

Hope Taylor handles today well!! pixie dust and hugs to you all!

Thank you all sooooo much!!! Whenever they get sad or emotional we try to bring up the trip & they do actually start to feel better or at least get distracted.... We can not wait!!!! :)

Thank you all sooooo much!!! Whenever they get sad or emotional we try to bring up the trip & they do actually start to feel better or at least get distracted.... We can not wait!!!! :)

That's the magic of the "mouse" working.....Mickey has a wonderful way to make your day happier and brighter....we depend on him a lot in our house!

Aw, sorry to hear they were having a rough day today. I was able to get a map of the MK this weekend for you. I was going to hold off on sending it but it sounds like they could use a quick pick me up so I'll put it in the mail for them today. :goodvibes I hope it'll make them smile. :)

Oh I'm sooo sorry! Vent away! I hate that these kids have to go through so much. I will be praying for Taylor and for your family.
