We're staying in Hollywood for a couple of days and are thinking we might use taxis to get to and from Universal and Warner Bros studios.
I guess that our hotel can call a taxi for us to get there but are there taxi ranks/stands (not sure what they're called in the US!) outside for us to be able to get back?
The other question is about pricing. In the UK if you flag a taxi down you have to pay the price on the meter for the journey but you can pre-book a taxi for a set price or even at a taxi rank I've been able to negotiate a price for a journey before I get in. Will we able to do that kind of thing in CA or are all taxi journeys done on a meter system? Nothing more annoying than sitting in traffic going nowhere while the meter price just keeps on going up and up.....
