We leave this Sunday on the Magic and have a dolphin experience booked with our 2 year old daughter outside of DCL (since they wouldn't allow her to be booked) and need advice or what to expect with Taxi to the location. Has anyone done this? Nervous as I've never booked anything outside of DCL excursions so just trying to ease my mind a little bit if possible on what to expect.

Do they take Credit Cards? Or US cash?

Thank you!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would be wary of using a credit card with a vendor (such as a taxi company) in a foreign country I didn't know due to fraud concerns.

Taxis are super easy in Cozumel. You will walk out of the port, up some escalators and into basically a shopping mall (there is no way to avoid this so just follow the crowd). Go down the escalators in the mall and walk back toward the entrance closest to the port and you will see a taxi line. They are friendly and take US cash. The seatbelts are often non functional, just FYI.

Echo the above poster- there is a taxi line right there once you exit (echo just following the crowd) - the rate to Chankanaab is standard- I can't remember what it is, but I'm sure someone will mention. We paid in USD. Very very simple

We did this excursion through Disney and they just used taxis both ways that were paid for by vouchers. There were plenty of taxis waiting at the front of the park when we left. We had a great time at the park and on the Dolphin encounter. Have a great time!

They are right outside the terminal/shopping area. I doubt they will have carseats available or will they care if u didnt bring one, just fyi

We will be vacationing there when you arrive. I'll wave hi, LOL. Actually taxi's are easy to find. We pay by USD all the time. I'm thinking the price will be around 12 USD each way. I've never done a CC but honestly I wouldn't if I were you. Always settle on the price before getting in the cab. It never hurts to notice the cab number, too. Taxi's will be waiting at the park to take you back.

Been there twice. Love what it's become compared to what it was many years ago. Two years ago,it cost about $10 to get there and there was an admission fee of about $5, but I don't remember if it was per person. I do remember having a coupon for $2 off admission that I got online. Try looking up Chankanaab and see what pops up. There will be taxis at the park to take you back to the ship. Tons of taxis at the ship to get you there. Cash is the best way to go,both with taxis and with whatever you want at the park. They took US dollars at the restaurant too.

So excited to come across this post!!!! Knowing that you have successfully navigated multiple cruises with your little sweetie is giving me some extra confidence :) I just booked our first Disney cruise with the twins. Unfortunately, it's not until next summer, though, but at least that gives me lots of time to plan. Did you take a carseat with you for when you ventured off the ship? I can't imagine us bringing two carseats with us! Plus we will have the double stroller since we will probably add on a couple of days at WDW... I hope you are having a great trip!!!!!! I'm going to have lots of questions for you!

We did this in December - we paid USD and when we were done for the day we stopped at the ticket office and they called a cab for us. It was very easy. You will be happy!

I've done many Disney cruises- 13 to be exact and have done at least 3 of them alone with my 2 boys while in Cozumel.
We've been to Chankanaab, and a few other places (Paradise Beach and Playa Mia)
I always do my own excursions, and we've taken cabs each time. It's very easy, and the best way to pay is by USD. If I recall, it was around $4 per person, so $12 there and $12 back.
I always ask the price before I get in the cab.
One tip I do have though is...the line for the cabs can get very very long! I've skipped past the line and walked out to the street. I've got a cab each time In the matter of mins vs waiting up to 15 mins in line. Their are cabs waiting on the street as well, and I also found their prices better. Even if it was only cheaper by a $1 per person, it still saved me money and time.
Once you're done at the park, someone at the entrance as you walk out wil ask you if you need a cab and they will call one around if their isn't already one waiting out front.
The first time I did this I was very nervous because I was alone with my 4 and 6 yr old, but it was honestly very easy and everyone was very nice and helpful. I never had any issues and ended up doing it 2 more times alone with my boys.
Hope this helps!!

Enjoy your cruise!! :)

Hey!! How exciting on booking the cruise for them. They will love it! We didn't bring a car seat as they aren't required in taxis we couldn't justify carrying the car seat around.
