Taxi from Pop to Universal?

Hi, has anyone taken a taxi from Pop Century to Universal-IOA? How much would it cost for 4? Two adults and 2 teenagers. Thanks

We took a taxi from AS Movies to Universal and it was about that amount. You can go down to the front desk the night before and ask them to reserve a taxi for you. We requested a van since there were 6 of us. It was great. Taxi was on time and we were organized and left on time since we didn't want to keep the driver waiting.

For the return trip, you just have to exit Universal and they have taxi's waiting right there - cars and vans. There is someone there you keeps everyone going in the right direction.....

I think the return trip cost us about $80.00 tip included. We were there in March 2010.

Were you able to get a van from the taxi stand at Universal easily? I have 6 going this time as well and planned on booking the van the night before from the resort but I'm concerned about the availability of vans waiting on standby at Universal. To make matters worse, we'll be there late after close since we're seeing the Blue Man group until about 11 p.m. I just don't want to pay for 2 cabs.

I called a few limo companies to try and pre-book a pick up from Universal and they all want a higher rate or refused since people tend to be late for pick-ups from the park at night.

You might be able to rent a car for a cheaper than you won't need to worry about the return time.

Were you able to get a van from the taxi stand at Universal easily?

We're a family of 5 and we found it very easy to get a taxi van last August. Both days we went, we got a van as soon as we arrived at the taxi stand. They seemed really organized about it and there were a number available. The cost was what others have reported (about $80 for the round trip). Renting a van might have been less expensive but we weren't comfortable driving ourselves.

I would look into renting a car. Then you can make a stop for supper, shopping etc. Look at the transportation forum and the universal forum..plenty of info there.
