Taxi from offsite house to Disney?

Hi!
We're planning our first family trip to Disney World in May. We're flying in and most likely renting a house close by. I'm concerned about the cost of renting a car (or 2). We have 5 adults and 3 kids so we'd need one big one or 2.
Then we have to pay for parking too.

Does anyone ever take a taxi to the park from off site? What would be our smartest option?
Thanks!!

I think a taxi is the most expensive option. If you don't want to stay onsite, maybe you could consider Bonnet Creek. It's on Disney property but is not Disney-owned. There's a really good thread about it on the Orlando Hotels board. They are condo/villas and run buses to the parks from there.

If you definitely want a house, then rental car(s) are your best bet. But you may find that that cost plus parking may make staying onsite a viable option for you.
