No. You can't shop around for a taxi at LAX, they can only pick up in the designated lines, and their rates are set by the city. It's $2.70 per mile, plus an airport fee and additional waiting time. If you taxi never idles (not going to happen) it will be $100 from LAX to Anaheim based on distance alone.

We have just returned from Disney. From Disneyland Hotel to LAX - we were charged $80.00 for the taxi trip. We had spoken to two taxi guys and they both said the same amount. On the day of our departure (leaving at night) we went down spoke to the cab driver, confirmed the $80 and booked the time. He gave us his phone number in case there was a problem. Worked out well. So just ask.

A taxi is going to be roughly $100- could be more depending on tip. You might want to also look into shuttles. There are Disney Express shuttles and other shuttle companies that'll take you there. They're usually 14-20 per person.

We had Nick P. with Yellowcab the last time (Jan 2012) we went by taxi. Flat Rate of $45 from GCH to SNA.

He is the BEST driver we have ever had. I felt safe in his mini-van as we were going to SNA. He kept his eyes on the road and his hands on the wheel and drove a moderate speed. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate his driving skills and customer service.

With other driver's I've had to close my eyes as I pray we reach our destination in one piece.

I keep Nick's business card in with my Disney info. When I go to SoCal and need a driver, I'll be giving him a call to see if he's available.
