Taxi fares to BBB in DTD

My daughter (age 4) has an appointment at BBB in Downtown Disney. After looking at the bus time schedules in the UG, it could take over an hour from the WL one way. Just wondering if anyone has any idea how much a cab fare would be to DTD from the WL? I did the cab fare estimator on the Mears website it was about $24 one way (I selectd MK to Disney Institute they didn't have WL or DTD listed as choices) - sounds a little high to me.

I've never taken a cab how much do you tip? The UG has suggested having the front desk call the cab and they can request a car seat. Just wondering upon the trip back to WL how do I get a car seat? Maybe we could just take the resort bus back. Open to opinions. Thanks as always!

It shouldn't take you over an hour via WDW bus....maybe 40-45 minutes if you just miss a bus at WL, but 15-20 minutes if there's one arriving at the bus stop the same time you are.

A cab from WL to DTD should run you about $10-$15 each way plus tip. Tip is generally 15-20% of the fare, so figure $12-$18 each way including tip.

But I'd take the bus unless you're in a hurry.

Thanks for the info. I thought that $24 sounded high. Maybe we'll try the bus - I just wanted to make sure we weren't late for our apptmnt or late on the other end for our princess meal. I guess its all in the scheduling and allowing time for transportation.
