Taxi fare from Loews Hollywood to Universal Hilton?

Can anyone tell me approximately how much this would cost?

I know there's a metro, but for convenience we're thinking taxi.

The trip can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30+ minutes depending on traffic. Figure $15-20 if no traffic and double that if there is traffic. The red line is only 1 stop and there's a tram up the hill that lets off right at the park gate. A taxi is not going to be as convenient in this case.

Are there certain times its best to avoid travelling for traffic?

On that particular route? Before 6am. It's pretty unpredictable and they've recently closed one of the Universal off ramps, which isn't helping.

Nobody takes taxis in Los Angeles.

An Uber would run maybe $10-12.

I'm not sure how far the Universal tram dropoff is from the Hilton so you can just use Uber. It shouldn't cost very much.

Thirding Uber. You can also get a decent fare estimate using the app before you request your ride. Right now for an UberXL (which you'd probably want since you have luggage) it's showing me $9-$13.

I'm thinking uber is a good bet, cheaper then a taxi but still door to door service.
