Taxi Cabs on 'Standy-by' in PI PArking lot??

Quite often we're pretty spent when leaving PI to return to our hotel, usually S/D or BWV. I see taxi cabs in the lot often. Are they there for a scheduled pick-up or can we grab one as the mood hits us, and what would the fare be?

There are taxis in all the parks at the exit and at PI and DTD that are just waiting for fares. They do take turns so if you walk over to the group they will call the person who's turn it is.
I have taken taxis from BWV to Epcot long story, I had to get there quicker than I could walk or the boat could go and it cost me $5 plus tip of $2.
I have also taken a taxi from MK to WLV for $3 plus $2 tip.
I am not sure what it would be from PI to BCV but I would expect it to be around $5.
It is nice to know that the taxi is there for emergencies when you just can't wait for the boat, bus or monorail. Peggie

Outside of Planet Hollywood, we just go to the first one in line. (That was what we were told to do by drivers previously). Last trip we used a taxi from there, it was $7.00 plus tip back to the BW.
