Hi there.

Planning a trip for late August (free dining - yay!) and debating between renting a car versus taking Disney transportation and cabs if we need to. I was curious about cab rates to and from the Soronado Springs Resort. I posted this question on another forum and got only a couple of responses. Everyone seemed to think the Disney transportation to/from CSR is wonderful. But what are taxi rates like?

I forgot to mention we have a 5yr old and 2 yr old and plan to start early,
head back to the resort early mid-day and still try to catch a couple of early afternoon parades at the parks. I'm afraid I might be underestimating the travel time it takes between the parks and CSR.

Counting on my fellow DISers to help me out with this decision.

We jut got back from Coronado Springs two weeks ago. We took a cab over to the Carribean Resort to do the Pirate Cruise, it cost us $10.00 each way. That was the only cab we took, otherwise we used the bus system so I can not give you any more feedback. Enjoy your trip.

i took 2 taxis each for magic kingdom to als movies and it was less then 20 bucks with tip....it was the best 40 bucks i spent

There are taxi's waiting at the hotel's. We did not need to call them.

If you need a taxi with carseats, you can order one at the front desk or your resorts. Everytime we've taken a cab it seems to cost about $20 with tip. But sometimes, when you don't want to spend an hour just getting to your ADRs, you'll fork up the $20! For instance, when we had to go from AKL to Fort Wilderness for Mickey's BYBBQ, we took a cab. Way to much time to take a bus to MK, take a bus/boat to FW, take another bus AROUND FW, and then walk to the pavilion. So we took a cab and got there in less than half the time.

I always "budget" at least an hour to get around WDW on the buses. We have stayed at POP and AKL in recent years and it's a good 20-25 minute drive to MK from there.
