Tax Return ACCEPTED!!!

We filled electronicly this year, and our return has been accepted--in 36 hours!! Can't wait for the refund to get direct deposited in our checkbook! DISNEY HERE WE COME--in 15 days that is!! Hope everyone else had as good of luck as we did on their taxes!

Ours was accepted over the weekend. It should get here just in time to pay for our new floor!

Ours was accepted really quickly...in just a couple of hours. We were surprised since the tax program said to wait a couple of days before checking.

For those who have gotten refunds already, is it 2 Fridays for the deposit, or 2 Fridays if it is submitted before a certain day of the first week?

Can you explain how this worked, did you have to complete your return online? My accountant already did ours, we pick it up on Saturday, can we still do this?

We used Turbotax to do our taxes. We have pretty simple taxes, although this year, my DH's office was in our home 100% of the time, so that made thing a little more complicated. Turbotax really takes you through things step by step and is very VERY easy to use--and much less expensive than an accountant (at least that is what we found). You have an option at the end of doing your taxes to file electronicly--$14.95--, which we did. It is really nice knowing that your taxes are accepted and that yopur money will be in your bank in 2 weeks or less! Hope this helps!

I would call your accountant back and see if he/she can file electronically for you and how much he/she would charge.

I do ours and file online with H & R Block and it is around $25.

We did have our done one year and then just had them filed electronically through H&R. They basically redid the whole return because it was the same price as just having them e-file.

It really is very convenient and worth the extra $, IMO.

We always have our refund within 2 weeks.

I used TaxCut. I've used Turbo Tax before and that was good too. On the IRS.gov website, there are many options depending on location or income that allow you to do the taxes and file online for free.

If you have already had an accountant do the taxes, just mail them this year, and next year consider trying to do them yourself through one of the paid programs, or directly from the IRS website, if you find one of their options agreeable.

DH did ours last night and we got the email this morning! It looks like we may be totally out of debt by next month!

Got my direct deposit today!!! I filed on Friday, the 23rd, got confirmation it had been accept the next day and the deposit went in this morning. 2 weeks, start to finish!!

Filed mine the afternoon of the 30th, received notification will be deposited by the 17th..though they normally are done on Friday's so I'll be checking next Friday

Just in time to pay off our resort, buy our park hoppers, and Sea World Tickets, and pick up the layaways with Disney trip stuff on it!....

The best part is it's covering about 75% of our trip costs! Basically the only thing left is the 4 hotels on our road trip, and gas! YEAH!!!

I filed on Tuesday the 24th and had my state this Tuesday the 3rd and my federal yesterday the 5th. That was the quickest I have ever received it back! Yahooooooo

I actually came on-line just now to ask if anyone does their own taxes and if they have used Turbo Tax. I'm so glad I found this thread.
This will be my first time doing it myself and I was told to use Turbo Tax, that it's very easy. Do you agree? What do you mean when you say it was accepted?

Yes, Turbo Tax is very easy. This is the third year that I have used it. Having your tax return accepted means that Turbo Tax has sent the IRS your return and they have accepted it for processing. One year, I think ours was not accepted the first time b/c my electronic signature had a number wrong. I corrected and re-sent it. Was then accepted by IRS.

Turbo tax is so easy....it asks you all the questions...very clear! In fact, I used to go to H & R Block and would let them do it. 2 years ago was the first time I used Turbo Tax...imagine my shock when it found deductions that h & r NEVER did!! I filed ammended returns for the years that I could and got an additional refund that year!!

By all means do it! It so easy...you'll get hooked. I actually like doing it so much I do my neighbors for her every year and my sons! LOL

I've been filing this way for so many years now. At first my DH was real worried about it and had to go back through everything to check it and I couldn't send it until he did. I would have it all done by now and wouldn't be able to file it until he checked it over....so by April 15th it would finally get out because he would finally get around to looking at it!! Now he just asks when's the check coming??? LOL

I have never used Turbo Tax. Has anyone done their taxes both with and without to see if there is a difference?
I was going to try it this year but I did them myself again and mailed them today.
I do the 1040 and use a Schedule A too.
Maybe I will try next year. Peggie
