Tasty Planning Time with ZeBrook! A 2 for 1 PTR - 12/24 - All our bags are packed

Your ADR's look like good choices. We ate at Teppan Edo last year for lunch and it was pretty yummy. I can't believe you have another trip coming up so fast. I bet you are excited. Pixie Dust :wizard: for a cheaper flight for the last leg of your trip.

I had forgotten about your upcoming trip in December and thought your PTR was closed. I have got to learn more about this board. I just recently figured out how to subscribe to threads. :rotfl: Maybe that will help me keep up better!

You gave Henry the best gift ever - soon being able to stay home with him. Congratulations! It will be worth living on less money.

Another PTR? I forgot as well...

Flying Fish Cafe is a great restaurant for a date night! IMO.

:thumbsup2 for quitting your jobs. Sounds like it's the best decision.

Actually, at the moment it opens at 3 am Eastern Time. I have read about it on the restaurant board and am watching it. So far, the last week it was available every morning at 3 am Eastern - easy for me to check: it's 9 am here! :goodvibes

I wish I had checked my own PTR  before now! :headache: Update on the ADR thing coming soon....

That is REALLY nice that it's at 9 am now, makes it much more possible for you to book your own versus going through a TA! :thumbsup2

Hi Brook! The ADR's look lovely! :) I understand the budget concerns so I hope you get them all worked out and then get the ADR's you're hoping for! WOW, this trip will be here before you know it!

Glad to hear 2/3's or your flights are booked! I hear Xmas time this year has been expensive for people. I know it's always one of the high seasons but with the airlines cutting back some flights and consolidating, it probably makes the demand go up like you're seeing?

I need to jump over to your other report and get caught up! We leave in a little over a week and we got out the suitcases today. I need to get my act together and get moving on it. It feels overwhelming at times, doesn't it? :)

Have a great weekend,
Heather

I see ONE DAY left on your ticker!!!! :woohoo: yay yay yay!!! I hope you are able to sleep. ;)

We still haven't gotten that last leg booked, it goes up, then comes down a bit, then back up....hopefully we'll catch it on a good down swing soon.

I cannot get caught up on the DIS lately AT ALL. Every time I load a report I'm 10 pages behind...:headache: but, at least I get caught up to get behind again, right?

YAY for double digit dancing!! :cool1::cool1:

What restaurants did you get the restaurant.com certificates for in New Orleans? Just curious - I did that on our January trip at a few restaurants, all in the French Quarter. Didn't do it this summer because eating was trickier with 37,000 people looking for food! Good luck with the airfare between MSP and New Orleans - I was amazed at how expensive it is!

You are in Disney World right now, aren't you?
I gotta get on Facebook again!

All our restaurants are in the French Quarter as well---I gotta check what places exactly-the certs are upstairs, I'm down...and tired. I will check though and list 'em out-maybe it's one you saw or even tried!

So the airfare between MSP and MSY is usually pretty high? It's a normal thing? Blahhhhh.....

I love the Wall-E t-shirt!

And if it doesn't fit, yep he needs a new one.

I wish they made nice Wall-E t-shirt for women.

I have one Wall-E shirt, but I'm not crazy about it. It's OK. They did have one that was very cute when the movie first came out, but I haven't seen it since.

He did out grow his Wall-E shirt, his little belly hangs out the bottom (which is kinda cute in a way ). He DOES need a new one...hmmm...Christmas is coming!!

Look at Henry's face while he's reading the postcard!

Adorable!

Thank you!! :goodvibes

There's always a reason to go shopping!

::yes::

The countdown with all the stickers is so cute!

He has insisted it stay up on the fridge and he points at it about once a week still. Today he pointed at it and said "More" - and I tried to explain when we were going back to Mickey's....ya, that was interesting...

Happy Birthday Henry!!

Sorry, I'm so behind!

It's ok! :goodvibes We just had his party a week ago, so we are just winding down from birthday mode.

I so must second the choice of Joe for O'Hana's breakfast- yummy and so fun! A great meal....

Plans look good, glad you have bought some airfare and good luck with ADRS!

Ahhhh.....ya....changes coming....:lmao:

Hey there, Brook!

Congrats on the flights and definitely two :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 on Teppan Edo and Cali Grill!!

Oh... the Candelight Processional... *sigh* :cloud9:

Kathy

Changes, changes! ;)

But YES, the CP looks awesome, I can't wait for that!

I am VERY excited about the upcoming trip. I know the time will fly, but it still just seem soooo far away right now.

Thank you for the pixie dust - I gotta check again this week in hopes!

It took me over a year to really understand how the boards work-I never ventured very far away from a few different ones. You'll get to be a pro soon!

Subscribing helps a TON. But then it's easy to subscribe to so many you can't keep up. :rolleyes1 ;)

Thank you for your encouragement! I like the way you said it-it truly is a gift to both of us, isn't it?! :goodvibes

Hey there! Yep, I've had this PTR going for a while now-a 2 for 1 trip. We only had the December trip planned, then stuck the September trip in there.

Flying Fish gets such awesome reviews-we are not fish people, but that steak looks awesome! We'll have to try it sometime...not December though....:rolleyes1

Thank you for the encouragement on the job front!

"AHHH! IT'S ADR DAY!"

That is what I shouted around 10:00 am yesterday morning as we were driving to the Twin Cities.

I didn't have a thing with me, I wasn't ready, I was blanking on the phone number.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Then I thought for a moment.

"No, wait, it's tomorrow. Tomorrow is ADR day."

"I think."

I quickly whipped open my planner and counted back from December 26 (while driving :rolleyes1 :sad2:), and to much relief, it was tomorrow.

Well, today is tomorrow, so I have an ADR update!!

Joe, Henry and I have all been a bit under the weather lately-just yucky colds. I woke up this morning as I have the past few days.

"Ugh" was my first word.

It was 7:42 am, Henry was awake.

Joe went about his morning and then left on his bike for church, Henry and I were staying home because of his cold-I don't want him in with the other kids and getting them sick too.

I brewed the coffee.
I made breakfast for two.
I started to eat.

"TODAY IS ADR DAY!"

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Seriously, how could I forget?! What kind of DISer am I?!?!

I blame it fully on the cold. It knocks me out and I can hardly function in the morning.

So, instantly I was on the phone, and trying online - Henry was happily watching Playhouse Disney.

I got a CM pretty quickly - she asked for my reservation number.

"I have four."

"FOUR?!"

:lmao: I explained my slight drama with getting a 2 bedroom at Kidani, she understood and rolled with it.

A million years later....okay, 48 minutes later....we painfully had made it through using Disney oh-so-speedy software , and here is what we got:

Sunday, December 27
7:25 pm
California Grill, date night for Joe and I :lovestruc

Monday, December 28
Noon
50's Prime Time Cafe

Wednesday, December 30
4:15 pm
Biergarten Candlelight Processional Package
CP @ 6:45 pm

Thursday, December 31
9:45 am
Boma

So, uh, ya...a few changes! Original plans were changed the next time I spoke to Joe about it all! :rotfl:

He wanted to go cheaper for the CP package, and we have wanted to try Biergarten.

And he wanted Boma again. I had no objections. Can't resist the Boma breakfast. Drool.

And, our family said they wanted a few meals out-we think they are gonna really enjoy 50's Prime Time (who doesn't love boomerang designed table tops?!). And when Joe and I visited we weren't feeling 100%, so we want to go when we are feeling well and we can revel Mom's cookin'!

I made one boo-boo.

In my pre-coffee blurry mind, I said we had 6 adults, 1 2 year old. Party of 7.

Uh...no. 5 adults, 1 2 year old. Party of 6.

By the time I was halfway through my first cup I realized my mistake, but things were so stinkin' slow that I just let it roll and figure I'll call back later.

Anyone have experience with that sort of thing? Is it easy to change the reservations to fewer people, or do I have to start all over again??

The ADRs sound great, Boma breakfast is wonderful and I think one has to eat breakfast at the resort one day on every trip!! :goodvibes

I think if you need to adjust the number of persons on your ADR you will need to rebook them. So my advice would be to try to get new ones with the correct number of persons and cancel the ones you have only if you were able to get what you wanted. Otherwise keep the one you have if they don't require prepayment.

I hope you get to feeling better soon, Brook! I like all of your ADR choices and am looking forward to lots of food pics of your meals! ;) I think it was wise to do a Boma breakfast -- after all, you are staying right next door. :goodvibes

 Your ADR's look so fabulous Brook!!! Your going to have a wonderful time!! CP looks sooooo beautiful!

I totally understand forgetting ADR day! Especially with a cold!! We've had one kicker of cold passing around our house and earlier this week I could barely function!

Hope your all better soon!!

Congratulations on your ADR's!:cool1:

I think you will like Biergarten, they have a neat show during the holidays! And of course, Candelight Processional is fantastic, too! Your narrator will be Angela Bassett and Courtey B. Vance! That should be pretty good!

I hope that you and the rest of the family will be feeling better soon!:goodvibes

You forgot your ADR day?!?! :scared1:  Sounds like it turned out just fine anyway, and you got what you wanted. I was able to get the CP package too, and for Christmas Eve no less! :woohoo:

Those look like good ADRs. When we were there last summer, we showed up with two less than we were scheduled for on our ADR and had no problems. Hope it works out well for you!

I haven't been on much since I was supposed to be going back until December 2010. And the dis was depressing lol

Well our dec. 2010 trip is cancelled.

But a July 2010 trip is on it's way.

So here I am again lol

Congrats on the ADRs Brook!! I got everything I wanted too for our December trip. I tried the online system this time and loved it. So easy peasy. :)

I really like eating breakfast at the resort as well. There is just something about rolling out of bed, getting ready and walking down to the lobby for a meal. I like it. This isn't quite that since we'll be at Kidani, but very close!

That is awful about the rebooking...ugh. I guess I'll have to give it a try and maybe figure out the online system next week, see if I can rebook. Good idea on only canceling the ones I can rebook. None of them required a deposit, but the CP package and I think the Cali Grill did require a CC to hold the reservation. I'm good on the CG since it's just Joe and I, but the CP....eek. I better call on that next week.

Thank you! We are feeling better now, but Henry has caught another cold. I guess that is what being a kid is though, one cold after another in these cool months! Blah!

Lots of food pics will be taken! I hope my In-Laws get into it like Joe and I am. They might think we are silly, but I bet they'll like it by the end of the trip!

I'm really excited about each of these ADRs the more I think about them. I think we are going to all enjoy each meal. I have SO much planning to do with the rest of the meals-gotta figure out what we are making in the room, get a grocery list together, etc. I think this might be the topic of discussion at our Thanksgiving meal!

I hope you feel better soon Brook!!!

Yay for ADR's!!!!

Thank you!! I am feeling good now-Henry has come down with another cold...ick. But, hopefully he'll make it through quickly too.

Congratulations on your ADR's!:cool1:

I really hope we get to see the oompah band! I think everyone would really enjoy it, I know I will! I love polka music! (I know, I know, geeeeeeeeeeeek!)

I haven't a clue who Angela Basset and Courtey B. Vance even are. I'm so Hollywood stupid. Gotta Google. Hmmm...I don't think I've ever seen anything with either of them in it! Goodness, I live under a rock, don't I?

You forgot your ADR day?!?! :scared1:  Sounds like it turned out just fine anyway, and you got what you wanted. I was able to get the CP package too, and for Christmas Eve no less! :woohoo:

:rotfl: I couldn't believe I forgot! I almost didn't want to admit it!

YAHOO for getting the CP on Christmas Eve! That will be soooooo very magical!

Those look like good ADRs. When we were there last summer, we showed up with two less than we were scheduled for on our ADR and had no problems. Hope it works out well for you!

That is great to hear! I hope it's the same for us. I'll try to rebook, if I'm able, otherwise, just hope for the best.

Great ADRS!

Not sure about Boma as I haven't eaten there yet.....maybe this coming trip.

If you like breakfast, you'll like Boma. Drool. Big 'ol buffet. Fantastic juice. Yummmm.

I haven't been on much since I was supposed to be going back until December 2010. And the dis was depressing lol

Well our dec. 2010 trip is cancelled.

But a July 2010 trip is on it's way.

So here I am again lol

:yay: Congrats on your July trip!!!! I just opened your PTR in my windows, I'll try to catch up as soon as I can to hear about all the details! I'm glad you came back to join us. :goodvibes

Congrats on the ADRs Brook!! I got everything I wanted too for our December trip. I tried the online system this time and loved it. So easy peasy. :)

I really gotta give it a whirl. I tried once and it kept erroring on me (I was just doing a mock ADR). Since then, I haven't been back. And with 4 reservation numbers I was afraid it was going to freak out on me or something...I've heard DVC'ers have had problems with it too. Hopefully they got that fixed though.

Happy Last Day of Work tomorrow, Brook!!! :goodvibes

Thank you!!! I'm excited, sad, nervous all at the same time. Mostly excited though!

Now, can I make it through ANOTHER day of doing nothing but writing Knowledge Base articles without going nuts???! That is the question!

Finally caught up on the (next is your trippie for the first trip!)

I don't know if you have solved this yet but...we kept most of our reservations with an additional two people. I made all our ADR's before things happened this past summer and when I tried to change to the lesser number (either 5 or 3) I was told nothing was available. We had no problems when we arrived anywhere. Just told them the number we were at that moment.

Ahhhh! That puts my mind at ease! :goodvibes What a relief. I did try (online) to change one ADR, and it was a complete no-go for any time during our entire vacation! This slow-season gal isn't quite used to that.
