Well the time has arrived, N.Y.E and we intend to do at least 15 hours in the park today as we've read how busy they will be. We decided to do Epcot so we could celebrate New Year in the U.K before carrying on for the real thing. So before we went we booked an ADR for 7.10 in the Rose and Crown. (yes we know its predictable)
So at 9.00 on the dot we were in the Park, myself and DD went on Spaceship Earth while DH went to get FP's for Soarin'. I think everyone else was doing the same and he came back with a FP for 11.30 - 12.30.
The park was already getting busy so after a quick walk through innoventions we thought we would try and get some breakfast, we were going to the Fountain View Bakery but they were queuing out of the doors, so we headed off to World Showcase to see what we could pickup for Breakfast. We ended up in France once again much to DH disgust (doesn't like giving money to the French and always complains about their arrogant attitude) So what did we get an arrogant French guy serving us, who didn't seem that bothered or in any sort of rush to serve anyone. The Pastries were really nice though
So then it was off round World Showcase to visit the countries we missed last time. As usual a quick walk around the U.K for a laugh at the prices in the shop and then over to Morocco (missing out France. Once in a day is enough for DH). In Morocco we went to the rear of the shops were a couple were waiting for Jasmine so we sat down and waited and waited. At which point the couple got bored and walked off, we decided to hang on a little longer. We were away from the crowds and it was nice and quiet but eventually we gave in.As we left Morocco, we found Jasmine down by the Lake having photos taken but at least we had rest.
We then decided to head back Imagination and try and get Honey I Shrunk the Audience, we love this show and laugh more at the reaction of the people in there when he releases all the mice
Then it was time to get another FP we walked over to TT but FP had already run out, so after a quick look around the cars inside we headed back to Soarin' . The Land pavillion had been made one way in, one way out to cope with the crowds and you had to queue around the ramp before making your way down the escalators. DD and DH went on this ride I don't like motion rides. They headed down to get on and I waited out side. The Standby queue was now 120 minutes and at 11.45 the FP return time was for twelve hours later. I had to laugh at the number of people who came back from the FP machines and thought they could get on straight away, not realising they had a twelve hour wait.
Once inside Soarin' DH and DD got talking to a couple of C.M's who said they had been told the park would shut its gates a 2.00pm reaching its 70,000 capacity. We came out and was going to do the new Nemo ride but they were queuing out off the pavillion and we were told it was a 90 min wait to get in.
We then went for a gentle stroll around the World starting in Mexico, but the crowds were massive, with huge queues for all the rides, we did pick up a FP for Maelstrom as the standby time for that was 60 minutes.
We were now getting hungry so we made our way over to the Liberty Inn for Burgers and Chicken Strips, at least we found a table straight away, we are getting good at standing around next to tables until they relent and move. After Food we decided to go for a rest in the American Adventure, 5 minutes into the show DH and DD were fast asleep, waking up for the last few minutes. (DH still laughs how they make an 1/2 hour show out of 250 years of history, if we did one in the U.K it would last for hours)
After our FP for Maelstrom we decided to join the queue for our hats and blowers. The walkways had now been subdivided to keep people apart and seemed to be working well.
After collecting our Hats and Blowers as well as a few extra (the CM gave us 8 hats and a dozen blowers) we made our way to the U.K were we settled down to watch the British Invasion. They do sound good but they must be the most dodgy looking set of Beatles ever, DD wanted to know why they had them on stage and not something more modern, who knows in a few years time will we get Oasis or Robbie Williams look-alikes.
WE then settled down to welcome in the British New Year, we tried to phone home, but they were having a party and know one could hear the phone so it went to the answering machine and took all the credit off the card. I decided to get another card from the shops but was told the Disney do not sell phonecards on property
so no phonecall home
New Year went off with much horn blowing and noise before we went for our ADR. Once inside our server asked did we want to watch the fireworks as he would hold back our Entrees until they had finished so we made our way out to the Beer Garden for a great view of the 7.30 fireworks.
Once back inside the Rose and Crown it was mayhem, we were sat near the bar area and a guy called Alan from Liverpool had everyone in stitches, he even found himself an adopted Canadian Mum in a lady who was sat having her dinner, passing his phone over so she could talk to his real Mum and Dad (We met up with Alan on the way home at the airport and found out he was the only one not drinking in his party and the following day in Universal a Woman came upto him and said Hi Alan I'm your adopted Mum, small world isn't it)
After a while we left Alan to his partying and made our way back to the Land where we walked on the Nemo ride, I'm glad we didn't queue earlier as its ok but nothing special, we came out and made our way to the main stage were we spent the last 3 hours dancing before leaving exhausted
On the return to our Hotel room we had a message left from the guys back home wishing us a Happy New Year.
