Day 14
We had an ADR for Bomas this morning at 8.00 so we were up early. Lovely buffet meal and lots of choices. The fresh fruit juice was very nice but cant remember what was in it (DH consumed 3 glasses and he still can't remember whats in it)
.
Then it was off to the AK after checking the weather. The forecast was for a cold dry day so out came the fleeces
. As we got off the tram the number of people with scarves, woolly hats, gloves and coats was un-real. This is the coldest day since we arrived but a fleece would have sufficed, it was around 62 dgrees, thats a nice summers day in Wigan
. The park itself was very busy once we got inside but we managed to do what we wanted, apart from the Nemo show. We were glad we saw it before Christmas as the crowds where huge, the queue stretched all the way back into the far reaches of Dino Land.
The Festival of the Lion King is always a must for us. As the 4 singers came out at the beginning the Queen seemed familiar. When DD checked her camera it was the same lady that had been singing with the Blues Brothers at Universal(Mabel)
We joined the queues for the characters dressed in their festive attire whilst DH watched the carollers. Its even stranger now to listen to carollers after Christmas and the sun is out.
Whilst queuing for Tigger, Pooh and Eeyore an American Girl and her boyfriend stood behind us were talking as Americans do at top volume. She wanted to see Tigger, he wanted to see Eeyore but they hoped they could see all three but if not she would settle for Igor (as she kept calling Eeyore)
Settled down to watch the parade. Why do people insist on trying to get where water cant and I dont mean children either, we even had one large lady who came late and we let squeeze in beside us complain to a CM that we should sit down when the parade came as we were blocking her view. The embarrassed CM asked would we sit down as the lady had been there a while
, we pointed out she had been there 5 minutes, we had been there an hour and as the rest of the people further down the line were also standing there was no way we were going to sit just so this lady could sit on the floor and see (wish we had never let her get in at the side of us) the CM beat a hasty retreat. The parade was upto its usual high standards and after we headed out of the park, through the shops (with DH muttering something about suitcases, customs and luggage allowances), where I picked up my dads Christmas present ( a pair of Disney crocs), He bought a pair when we were in Canada during the Summer and has never had them off his feet, so these should make a nice replacement.
Dinner was at Bob Evans down on the 192, another favourite of ours, the server was forgetful but the food was good home style cooking and then back to the hotel.
