Day 10
We were up in time to grab some breakfast from the hotel before the locusts rose from their slumber
Then it was off to Epcot for the day (DH's Fav Park). After getting a fastpass for Soarin we had photos with Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Pluto and Goofy (DD Favourite) in their Christmas outfits.
then it was time to head over to World showcase. Each Country had either their version of Father Christmas or a story teller out.
First was Canada, We had missed his story but he was there signing autographs, We got in the queue like true brits and waited, moving slowly forward, until we were one family away at which time the CM minder walked up and escorted Father Christmas off, All the time we were waiting and not a mention of when they were going in.
Then it was to the good old UK and a chance to laugh at the prices of the sweets in the shop, $2.30 for a pack of polos!!!!!
Also went to look at the lovely merchandise we sell to all the other visitors, Newcastle United ,Liverpool and Chelsea Football shirts, surely we have something more to offer than this!!!
Then it was time to see the French Father Christmas (Papa Noel) who needed a good feed, obviously hadn't found his way to the patisserie
Only made it as far as Morocco where we had a lovely lunch in the Tangerine Cafe, 15 minutes queue to order, then join another queue for 10 minutes to get your food. The chef was doing his nut at the counter staff, who seemed to be on a real go slow, he even came out and showed them how to serve quicker, but as soon as he went they returned to normal pace. The food itself was fantastic.
Back to the U.K and our own Father Christmas, the best story teller by far, but wasn't to keen on the green outfit
We then decided we would leave, we joined another queue for photos with 2 characters out of Brother Bear( I cant remember their names but its not Bungle and Nookie as DH calls them).
As we got nearer the front the wdw official just grabbed their arms and walked off. Yet again. Some of the smaller children were upset and the adults ended up explaining that they would be back in a few minutes. Have the CM's lost their voice, have they been told not to talk to the visitors, What happened to the balloon they used to give out to the last person in line? At least then you knew not to queue. They did return about 5 minutes later and peace returned.
Then it was off to the hotel to chill out do some
It was Saturday Night which is Steak Night at the Golden Corral, we made our way across and found the rest of Orlando had the same idea, we queued 20 minutes to get in once seated its off to the buffet and to marvel at the guy cooking half a cow on the grill.
Day11 (Christmas Eve and Moving Day)
This was the day DH had been waiting for the move to AKL, we just hung around our hotel before we checked out, as check in was down for 3.00pm.
DH was getting impatient and we left about 10.30am and took the chance we would get in earlier. DH does not like leaving the suitcases in the back of the car so it's straight off to AKL. When we got there the room was ready and after lots of " I told you so" from a smug DH We were checked in and unpacked for 1pm. Lovely room on the 2nd floor with a savannah view, twenty mile walk to the room but, hey you need something to counter act the portion sizes.
The it was off to DTD for some last minute Christmas shopping (I know again) and a free chocolate from Ghirradellis. This time we did buy some chocolates for Christmas (thats another first) and a little gift bag for Mousekeeping for Christmas day.
We headed back to the hotel to have a good look around. There were characters out around the Christmas tree as well as Father Christmas.
For the Tree lighting ceremony an African choir came out to sing carols and tell us how they would celebrate if they were back home, a really nice touch. then off to the room for an early night tonight with a very early start tomorrow.
