::MickeyMo I had heard it was closing as well, sometime in 2006 I believe. We made sure to see it when we went last time. It's really good, so definitely see it if it's still there. ::MinnieMo

I read some info on Deb's site about it closing early next year. They will do a rehab and enclose the arena area for a new show, don't know what it's slated to be yet...

Taken from Deb's site:

Tarzan Rocks! to Close in Early 2006!

The Theater in the Wild, in Animal Kingdom's Dinoland USA, will be fully enclosed in early 2006. Tarzan Rocks!, the 7-year-old old stage show that is performed in the theater, will subsequently close so that this refurbishment can be implemented. An exact closing date for Tarzan Rocks! has not been established. When the Theater in the Wild reopens, a new stage show will debut in the renovated location.

We've never liked it. We enjoyed the The Jungle Book much better. I wisht they'd bring it back again.

Excuse me for my open mouth gawk????!!! But have you seen the GUY????!!!! Ummmm....Tarzan DEFINITELY ;) rocks!!! ;)

How do YOU know that?

And more importantly how can I found that out personally???!!! :teeth:

I thought it was loud and obnoxious, personally. And I don't go for long haired, bodyhairless pretty boys with muscles :)

I will say it was miserably hot the day I saw it, which means my mood was probably foul to begin with.

Also, if I recall correctly, Tarzan was only in the show for a fraction of it.

I had heard it was closing in January 2006, and then later March 2006. Not really sure which is a correct date, but it is supposed to close sometime in 2006. Hopefully closer to your trip, you will get a more definitive answer. We are not fans of the show and are in the "anything is an improvement" camp.

I read that the performer contracts expire March 2006. Hopefully, you'll still be able to see it before it is closed forever. It was a decent show...loved the live band!

::MickeyMo Well, it is all rock music, hence Tarzan "rocks." The stunts were amazing in the show. And they're all really good singers. ::MinnieMo

When I went the lead singer was offkey the whole time. It was also incredibly pointless and I'm sure a better show will be along....

I guess we am in the minority here.
My family and I LOVE Tarzan Rocks. It's fun and loud and fast moving. And that song...you can't get it out of your head for the rest of the trip...(OK, maybe that is not one of the good things ;) ) But, we think it is just fun!!

I was VERY disappointed in this "show" as was my 4yr old DD. The music is SO loud that most younger kids either had their hands over thier ears or left crying. I never saw a Disney show where so many people left before it was over. Rollerbladers, rock band and every once in a while a "tarzan" like man climbing around. No thank you - I prefer the shows that are more about the movie - which is what we thought we were seeing - NOT!

Well I agree that alot of people leave this show before it is over. I don't think these people realize before they go in it is rock music. I also agree it is loud but that being said I really enjoy the show. I love the songs from the Tarzan movie and enjoy the live band playing. It certainly isn't for everyone, but it was nice to have something different to watch. I for one will miss.

We did Tarzan ROCKS when we were there in Sept. and i really dont think that it's all that great. Tarzan was wonderful to look at...and the band was ok...I just thought that the monkeys could have done the skating thing more. It was OK...but it's not worth sitting in the heat for. Maybe they should just have tarzan out there swinging from vine to vine..lol :rotfl:

Tarzan Rocks is one of the few attractions at AK that we really enjoy. I'm a big Phil Collins fan and will miss the show when it's gone. We already spend less than 1/2 day at AK on each trip -- I guess it will be even less now!

From what I understand Tarzan Rocks will continue to run thru early spring of 2006 and then be relocated to either Japan or Hong Kong (I don't recall which one).

The Theater In The Wild will be refurbished similar to what they did for the Lion King show. It will be enclosed and air conditioned and a new show will be presented. I understand it will be a Nemo based show.

And for what it is worth, I don't believe the band members are actually playing their insturments during the show. The vocals are live but the music is pre-recorded.

I'm with you TinkHappy. My DH and I, as well as my 3 kids, really enjoy this show and love the fast pace. It is a favorite for my DS3. I will really miss it when it closes, but at least I will get to see it once more in December :cool1:
